Greetings Program,
I have recently made a Herdstone for my upcoming beastmen army and I was wondering what other terrain pieces I should make to do a beastmen board when I play using only them.
Any help would be great.
There was an article in an old WD, back in 5th edition - Paul Sawyer built a fantastic Beastman camp for sieges. I've laid out below what I can remember:
Centre: Herdstone on raised mound, amongst sporadic campfires and blackened ground where there have been campfires. Several shamanic totems stuck in the ground around the stone, made from cocktail sticks with skulls etc. stuck on the top as if impaled.
Around the centre in a circular ring is just an open space.
Around the open space is a high earthen wall, with a few beaten ramps leading up to it. The outside of the wall is lined with logs - touching each other to form a palisade, with sharpened tops. The wall breaks at one point, which is just an open gap that serves as a gate.
Other than that, you could build twisted trees, I suppose, or dark pine forests, or the carcasses of some cattle they've stolen and carved up.
I actually have that WD. I forgot about it for a while but now that you mention it, I'll take a look and see what I can use.
A ruined farmstead with some mutilated (eaten?) bodies would be a nice touch too ;)
Or maybe a hill with some arcane signs and a cave for the minotaurs?
Right:
You could build a grave yard...
Build about 6 or so Chaos trees(featured in the October(2003)issue of White Dwarf)Millions and millions of skulls as the ground(To replace flock ^_^ )
Stones to use as grave stones.
Use Cocktail sticks to make railings
