well, when i baught 3rd ed (only 1 ive played) boxed set, i didnt like how u had ED and SM-i was hoping more like Tyranids and IG...but y 40k in 40 mins? and arnt there subrules for city fight? (Codex: CityFight, which i dont have) and y no army lists? there great! and, specify what u mean by minor psychic powers please!
gandalf - September 9, 2003 12:00 PM (GMT)
Well the army lists are obsolete very quickly , and i belive it should be more like the warhammer rulebook hence why having different tyrpes of games in.
Marines will always be in the boxed game, and the tyranids will appeal to those who love starship troopers

The minor Pyschic powers were published in White Dwarf several months ago, though they are featured in the new Chapter approved
gandalf - September 9, 2003 03:02 PM (GMT)
Yes but they are opptional, I want them to be officialised [like the chaos minor powers were in codex chaos]
Tombguard321 - September 9, 2003 03:37 PM (GMT)
If your going to allow chaos minor powers, it would be unfair to not allow the other set.
gandalf - September 9, 2003 08:41 PM (GMT)
Yes i know, i'd just like it too be official and be able to use them in tournies and such like.
ImperialGrunt - September 12, 2003 02:10 AM (GMT)
they should put overatch mode back in... on one of my other forums for 40k, som1 told me that 2nd ed had that...seemed useful.

Ah OverWatch, the ability to shoot continually at anything that moved assuming you did not move, or do anything else than shoot.
it was usefull especially if your army was the shootyest thing since the Tau. theres a thought the Tau with overwatch, thats a bad, bad thing i fear...
I miss my vortex grenades, and well grenades in general, Bring back the ability to lob grenades, that was alwyas a fun thing to do, 10 small blast templates could do a whole lot of damage.
ImperialGrunt - September 14, 2003 01:10 AM (GMT)
o they did have gredade lobbing? kool! i came up with 2 other Ideas also! judge em!
1_ ranged smoke nades: can shoot not jus to hide vehicle, but life down a street to give a smoke screen for the grunts to move easier (blocks LOS or -1 to hit or somthing)
2)a bike for IG- kinda like SM bike, only enclosed...(uses bike rules i guess) used to scout on planets where the atmosphereic condtitons (weather or whatnot) they dont replace Rough Riders or Sentinals, sence all 3 use diff rules, and there would be armed with 2 nade launchers or twin heavy bolters...
so what do u think?
gandalf - September 14, 2003 07:33 AM (GMT)
Grenades would be ok as for the bikes...well theyre more marine then guard, i'd prefer a light fast vehicle [aka jeeps] with a weapon fixed on it [maybe a small FW salamander?]
ImperialGrunt - September 14, 2003 06:31 PM (GMT)
yea thats what i was trying to create, im a big SC fan and I loved the vulures!

I wouold really like to see the diversaty of 2nd ed, in the rules and equipment, but without the long drawn out rules of earlier editions (2nd ed was not as bad as RT, 1st ed to all new players).
Having the ability to to diverse things like throwing grenades, overwatch and things like that but without all the markers that had to be used in 2nd ed.
I like where 4th ed looks to be going with things, the TARs and the TVR all look good and with a bit of work it could be all good.
