Title: What are you currently up to?
Description: just want to know

Khrangar - April 30, 2003 11:57 PM (GMT)
I am almost finished painting my converted Slaanesh hero and I was wondering what are you guys currently doing to make your armies better than the rest (or some)? Also what do you plan on doing in the near future as far as converting for your army goes? My next challenge will be to make either a Wulfen DP or a Dragon Ogre DP as mentioned in my other topic.

Grimgor Ironhide - May 1, 2003 12:19 AM (GMT)
I've got a bunch to paint . . .

8 orc warriors, 8 orc arrerz, converting my trolls and chariot, painting one troll, painting three night goblins, painting a doom diver and one spear chukka, all of those crew . . . *sigh*. I'm aslo working on redoing most of the stands to a better looking design.

Ghanacc - May 1, 2003 12:44 AM (GMT)
I have a lot to paint too...somethin' near 8 Dwarf Warriors (and the freaking gyrocopter if i can ever get it assembled), upwards of 25 orcs (i burned out somewhere around 30 orcs and 20 gobbos, but should pick it up again soon) and tomorrow I'm getting 10 horrors, 5 screamers and 2 flamers :) The new models are so cool...Anyways, conversion-wise I'm gonna make a disc of Tzeentch. Still not 100% sure how I'm doing that (though I believe my plans will involve hormagaunt arms, thanks to Maelduin ab Sardis)

Moonshadow - May 1, 2003 12:56 AM (GMT)
Let's see... I now just have one more Shadow Warrior to paint. I want to paint my second RBT next and then I need to assemble some Archers and Spearmen. After that, I'm painting my Silver Helms, then Lothern Seaguard, then Swordmasters, and then.... jesus I've got so much to paint... <_< :(

Champion of Tzeentch - May 1, 2003 01:08 AM (GMT)
Arent high elves boring? Got any dragons?

Kingphesphestus - May 1, 2003 01:21 AM (GMT)

They become boring to paint after a while, but they're certainly not boring to play.

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 1, 2003 08:51 AM (GMT)
I'm painting some archers for the moment, and a few more silver helms, and I'm assembling parts to make a new battle standard bearer, the old one is, well, old and badly painted :(

It's gonna be based on the body of a Drakemaster (= Dragon Prince champion), and I'm going to make the steed rear up.

Khrangar - May 1, 2003 04:54 PM (GMT)
I was also thinking of a slightly converted Chaos Spawn. Would you suggest getting the new one or the Scylla one but converted to fit my army? I am leaning towards Scylla but I want to know what you think.

Ozru'Shan - May 1, 2003 09:44 PM (GMT)
High elves are amazingly boring to play, which is what caused the mid army halt of my warhost, nwo I'm thinking of starting tau, they are just so cool looking, and the personalization and modification range of the crisis suits is great!

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 2, 2003 11:51 AM (GMT)
High Elves boring? Why? I love playing, painting, and converting them, And I've been playing them for about 9 years now.

Khrangar - May 3, 2003 02:08 AM (GMT)
I would just like to announce that my Slaanesh Lord, Dauragon the Deletrious, is complete and I hope to have pics of him as soon as a get or borrow a digital camera.

LordLoverocket - May 3, 2003 01:22 PM (GMT)
Busy painting skinks but not in any dodgy blue colour.

Drauthnir - May 3, 2003 05:08 PM (GMT)
As soon as I get my flaming blades (the ones on the Tzeentch lords staff), I'll be making my Path to Glory champion. He's gonna be great...

WaspEater22 - May 3, 2003 07:41 PM (GMT)
I've been using the same lord model for a VERY long time so I thought it was time for a good change.

I went through my bitz and cleaned a standard cavalry base, and filled in the two crevases with blue & white stuff.

Then I went on down to the hobby store, picked up the beautiful new Archaon model and came home.

I cleaned him, and then surveyed the parts. I glued him together. It was a pain in the ass, but i filled in the cracks with blue+white stuff, and I think it made the model look a lot smoother... :)

I had looked at the model in the army book, on the internet, and in other places before. Ideas raced through my head about how to paint him.

I wanted to paint him to fit with my army - But at the same time, I wanted him to stand out as the supreme commander.

My armies main colors are :
-Chaos Black
-Jade Green
-Boltgun Metal
-Blood Red

After a long and thoughtful sit, I decided that his scheme shall be as follows:

Horse - Same as book + website, black w/ bone spikes

Cape - Jade Green

Armor - Boltgun metal (I think this will look awesome) heavy highlights of chainmail + mithril silver though, Archaon NEEDS to stand out

Horns - I had to think a long time wether to paint them black or bone, on my chaos warriors I painted them black, as to not disrupt the scheme... but on such an important and grand figure, and the fact that it is ontop of bright and shiney metal armor - I think I'll go with bone...

Eye on the Helmet - Blood red, It seems to be the only suitable part of the model for blood red, which is fine as the unit of chaos knight he is going with his mostly Black and Jade green...

Sword - Archaon's Sword is a wonderful thing. I decided to use colors that wouldn't take away from the model, but still were fairly crazy. So I'm going to twist and swirl sunburst yellow and mirthil silver up the sword

Brand - The little star of chaos on the horse's thigh... I'm thinking it shall be Jade Green...

I think that just about covers the model...

Vanquisher Bae'Dareth shall spread pain and suffering amongst you weak mortals!

Ozru'Shan - May 4, 2003 05:54 AM (GMT)
currently I'm waiting for the damn wood elves to come out

Khrangar - May 15, 2003 12:29 AM (GMT)
My next little project will be a Dark Elf hero, converted of course, as per the one in the Rulebook in the Psychology section. Seems simple enough and should turn out great. All I need is a head, I can bitz order the rest. The head I want is the Dark Eldar one with the topknot but it isn't worth ordering the entire sprue for the head.

Luc_Arkhame - May 16, 2003 07:29 PM (GMT)
I need to figure out a way to post some of my Bretonnian Converts and my Dragon (which isn't converted but it does look pretty cool, but laziness is kind of holding me back.

Khrangar - May 16, 2003 07:31 PM (GMT)
Luc, I'm sure that a teacher (Mr.Joron) would let you sign out a digi cam even if it isn't for a project.

Scaly - May 22, 2003 10:38 PM (GMT)
I am starting to convert a norse army!

Any ideas? Units are in the DoW section.

WarlordTrik - May 23, 2003 01:47 AM (GMT)
I have to do a lot! A box of Archers, spearmen, silver helms, a bolt thrower, 15 swordmasters, a warlock engineer, 20 clanrats, a ratling gun, and some assorted Chaos stuff!

Khrangar - May 29, 2003 08:02 PM (GMT)
Scaly, I suggest that you use the Chaos Marauders, no brainer there, but get rid of the chaotic symbols from their armour and if you need to, put them on smaller bases. Other than that, I am stumped.

Scaly - May 30, 2003 03:13 AM (GMT)
Already bought, and converted, thanks though.

Lord Lard - May 31, 2003 08:23 PM (GMT)
