Drauthnir - September 27, 2003 03:50 PM (GMT)
Ok, so I know you won't kill us all, but we'll just say my character doesn't...

Kingphesphestus - September 9, 2003 07:18 AM (GMT)
ive posted some new armour rules above the special ammunition types in the 40 k rpg post that i will use.

Also out of curiosity would you prefer a percentage system for bs such as 20% chance to hit roll 1-20 on d100 or just the normal system?

Also i have made some charactrer sheets up if you would like one please pm me your email and ill send them to you.

Kingphesphestus - September 10, 2003 12:57 AM (GMT)

1) I'd sure like a sheet

2) percentages sound great, the warhammer rpg works like that, and it's great, as all those of you who may have played it will certainly agree. The sheets show a strange resemblance to that too btw ;)

Kingphesphestus - September 13, 2003 02:12 AM (GMT)
Yeah the sheets are form there i converted them to 40k i agree about percentage as such everyone add a zero to your bs thats your chance of hitting now.
is this ok with everyone.

Kingphesphestus - September 13, 2003 03:31 AM (GMT)
Ws will also be on percentage,

If yours is higher than enemys +10%
if stronger +5% each point of strength
high ground/in cover/ +5%
enemy unarmed +20%
Also these are reversed so if enemys ws higher -10% ect

Drauthnir - September 16, 2003 01:22 PM (GMT)
Ok, one more guard left at the front entrance. I'm just wondering: where are we (the marines) located? Are we further back in the alley with Felicity and Dominus, or are we in another alley? Or are we somewhere not even near them?

Kingphesphestus - September 16, 2003 01:28 PM (GMT)
Your hiding near the ship out of site, pretty close to the compound but well out of site as soon as you guys post you wanna attack youll be there

Kingphesphestus - September 20, 2003 12:17 PM (GMT)
New rules insanity

here are the rules for insanity when on a mission you will may recive fear points for certain events eg pinned by fire completly outmatched in combat huge hive tyrant bites off your arm ect

what will happen is that when you reach a certain ammount of fear points you recieve one insainty point, The insanity points are permanent the fear points however are reset to 0 at the end of each mission.

here the limits for each of you

human 10 fear points= 1 insanity point

space marine 15 fear points = 1 insanity point

grey knight 20 fear points = 2 insanity points

The reason grey knight get a different value is because of there training and such they are harder to scare however when thet do snap its worst, do these rules sounf ok? any questions?

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 20, 2003 12:40 PM (GMT)
Shouldn't we get a chance to stave off the effects? With a Ld test maybe? Otherwise there wouldn't be any sane people left in the Imperium....

Kingphesphestus - September 20, 2003 01:35 PM (GMT)
Yes thats what willl power is for some are instant fear points others are based on will power tests. Also you have to get all of them in one mission which represents the constant pressure of being in a combat situation or similar. Since some missions will be over days while the average battle is 12 hrs(i think thats what six turns converts as) so your under more pressure of course you get the chance to prevent them with will power tests as i said but some will be unpreventable.

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 20, 2003 04:54 PM (GMT)
Fair enough :) I always liked the disorder table in the warhammer rpg too. I ended up manic depressive, but it was cool for roleplayig purposes. And great to annoy the others with ^_^

Kingphesphestus - September 21, 2003 01:20 AM (GMT)
Ive never played the warhammer rpg ive only seen the sheets, and some of the skills it used

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 22, 2003 09:42 AM (GMT)
Don't worry about it, we'de be getting copyright probs anwyay ;)

Just two quick questions:

- how exactly do we get xp? Is it just for killing stuff or for other things too? (plz make it the second- AD&D style doesn't encourage roleplay)

- ho much xp do we need to advance? What are the costs for buying additional WS, S, M, skills, etc. ?

- Are wounds directly related to T or can you add to them with xp? I'm asking this because the magus has T4 and 50 wounds.

- is there an exhaustive list of skills or are we allowed to make them up ourselves? ( with approval of GM of course)

Kingphesphestus - September 22, 2003 10:33 AM (GMT)
You get exp for

each succesful characteristic test, eg wounding something,is s stopping a wound is t hitting something is either ballsitic or weapon skill.

you get a stock ammount of experience used to purchase skills
which is increased by kiling things as wellas other events, such as saveing people ect

skills are increased simialr to stats each succesful stealth gives it some exp depending on difficulty

skills can be made up by players but need to be approved by me first.

does this answer your question?

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 22, 2003 12:25 PM (GMT)
pretty much, just one left: how much xp do you need to advance something? Say I want to buy and additional point of WS, how much does it cost?

Or do you work with the CoC system?

Kingphesphestus - September 22, 2003 12:48 PM (GMT)
whats CoC
also the stats are done up by themselves once you reach the increase but you cant use ws exp to increase bs experience

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 22, 2003 04:53 PM (GMT)
CoC = Call of Chtulhu

There, if you succesfully use a skill, you get to roll at the end of the session. If you roll over the percentage of the skill, it increases by d10 (everything is in % there).

I'm still not totally getting it, but since it seems to go automatically, that's fine by me B)
How do the skills go then? Do combat related skills use WS xp for example?

Kingphesphestus - September 23, 2003 04:43 AM (GMT)
here ill explain

you have ws 50% right

at start had 0 ws exp
youve killed three guards by surprise with ine strike
+3 exp

you had three attacks against guard that fought back
first initial strike + two combat rounds of three attacks each all hit
thats
+7 exp

total ws exp is 10

for ws 50% to increase you need to get to 50 exp to increase by 10 %
to 60 so 40 more succesful hits and your ws increases.

For skills that have levels such as parry each succesful use of said skill gives you one exp. to increase need current level times ten

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 23, 2003 11:29 AM (GMT)
Thank you, that makes things a lot clearer.

Just one question left  : what if you want a new skil?

Kingphesphestus - September 23, 2003 12:38 PM (GMT)
new skills vary in cost between 50-100 exp and are purchased with the experience that you get for killing guys ect. Also use that experience to increase wounds
10 exp = 5 wounds. Attacks are 10 exp = 1 attack.
so youve got 4 exp from killing the guards so far when you get to 10 you can use it to increase wounds or attacks or save it to buy a skill.

Skills can also be learned in other ways, such as visiting a shooting range ect but these dont happen very often

Paco - September 25, 2003 08:08 PM (GMT)
king, do you only get exp for if u finish off a enemy...so if two guys attack one guy and the the 2nd guy to attack kills them...do they both get 1 exp or just the guy who killed the enemy????

Kingphesphestus - September 25, 2003 11:21 PM (GMT)
it depends against the guards its the killer against things like the magus its all hits, but you get stat exp, ws bs for succesful use of that stat whether ir kills tham or not

Paco - September 26, 2003 01:49 PM (GMT)
ok

Drauthnir - September 26, 2003 07:51 PM (GMT)
I didn't want to post htis in the main game, but this if for Tombguard:

Maelduin ab Sardis - September 27, 2003 09:19 AM (GMT)
Are you crazy? Or maybe totally insane? :o

Keep him down or he'll kill us all...

Tombguard321 - September 27, 2003 09:55 AM (GMT)
