what do you guys think? theres a hero in each herd, and one or two of the herds will probably ambush. The minos and dragon ogres, along with the generals herd, will then advance on the enemy, while the centigors go up the flank through forests to get the flank charge off.

Second Post! :)

Well, only 1 unit can ambush because you have 3 ambush units, halve rounded down is 1... If it was me, i'd take 2-3 small units of warhounds sow i could let them ambush yust to tease my friends (opponents)(it 's36 points for 6 hounds, that it is not mutch hehe). but thats because i like the ambush rule very mutch.
It s a very good idea placing your Tzaanbulls next to your general's herd sow the misile fire would probably be targetted on them instead of the herds.
I hope you please Tzeentch in battle mate.
ciao

actually i can tachnically have three units ambush, cause characters count towards the total number!
i wasnt really planning to ambush more than one herd tough anyway

The mimimum size of a unit of tzannbulls is 10+ and if you have a hero waiting in ambush, he generates no power dice.
How effective are Dragon Ogres?, because their stats don't seem that great.

Nope, Doombulls have min unit size 3.

You're thinking Tzaangores, the Tzeentch Bestigore. This guy is talking about Tzaanbulls, the Tzeentch Minotaurs, where their units are a minimum size of three.
Dragon Ogres are quite solid units in combat, and they take a lot of punishment. With great weapons they are even more deadly, so they should be able to hold their own in combat.

whoops, my mistake. The thing that annoys me about large units ( giants, shaggoths dragon ogres) is that they don't have a decent armour save, so they die quicker than they should

Not really. They often don't have a great armour save, yes. But do make up for that in high toughness and multiple wounds. But do watch out for those ol' skinkys with blowpipes.
