For those of you that don't know, the Strigoi Flying Circus is a name for a certain type of VC army. In this army, the character slots are taken up by a Strigoi Count and three Strigoi Thralls, all with the Bat Form bloodline power.
These four "quadruple team" each unit, using their 20" charge from Bat Form and their 360 line of sight due to being single models on foot to keep out of trouble.
That means that 17 re-rollable S5 attacks are brought to bear against each unit all four charge, giving the potential to cause enormous casualties on any unit and win combat through that.
The rest of the army consists of blocks of foot troops to take the charge of the rest of the enemy (and to hide the Vampires in if there are cannons present), and your conventional flankers in the form of Dire Wolves, Ghouls and Spirit Hosts.
I am planning to take a Strigoi Flying Circus to a 2500pts tournament in September. It isn't the most competitive tournament which everyone wants to win, like the GWGT or the WPS Club Challenge, so I am hoping people won't be too annoyed at this tactic.
I am also torn between taking a Lvl 2 Scroll Caddy or one of the thralls.
What do you guys think of this tactic/army?
Cheers,
DLJ
Sounds like a fun and interesting strategy to me. If it's something you really care about winning, take the scroll caddy to save your vamps from magic; otherwise stick to the theme and go for the thrall. It'll make it more fun, even if there is more of a threat to you...
DLJ, This army sounds fun and pretty gnarly, how many points is your Flying Circus total? Let us know the results of your tourney.

Well, I actually didn't bother taking the flying circus in the end, due to a lot of people on other forums calling me a beardy git! Ended up taking a fairly standard Strigoi army, and came 17th out of 50, which I was quite pleased with.
