Title: participaters in the inter-site league

Launcelot pappillion - December 26, 2004 01:54 PM (GMT)
Well, as chili suggested have I made a thread to all who would like to participate for Palace in the inter-site league...

post your characters here....

here's mine:

Deklus

History:
EDIT: please note, that this story is all fiction (;)), Deklus has never won an arena before....
AND the arena "death inside the mountain" is also just fiction, it has never been played... (but maybe i will make it later)

the weather was hot, and the sky blue. Outside the palace people was gathered, ready to hear the weekly anouncements which the herald would read aloud.

Deklus was inside the mob, waiting eagerly to hear if the rumours were true, at his side a halfling, no taller than a meter, stood and waited for the exact same thing.
These two had meed two days ago, at the local in, both were mercenaries looking for great adventures with great payment.

"We are all gathered here today" the herald said
"to hear what the future will bring to us"

And with that he continued his speech, with telling what events the forthcoming week would bring, no one in the crowd really listened to it, for they knew all of it on forehand. This little speech lasted for 10 minutes, and was ended with a

"and so we continue to the tournaments and arena anouncements:"

the crowd fell silent, the herald had finally reached what they were waiting for

"As the word has spread, have the mighty wizard Mordenkain, decided to host a
contest for the bravest of adventures, and the mightiest of warriors, he has
therefor decided to call the contest ´Death inside the mountain´, and as the title
suggest, will all participants (and there will be 40 of them) be put into the
mountain, and inside that mountain will there be deadly traps and huge
monsters.... and of course treasures!"

The last word was followed by a lot of talk inside the mob.....

"you can all sign op for this contest at the tables behind me, and we will chose
the best 40 men, and they will be send into the mountain...
one group, and only one, can win the contest all other will die down there"

Some people left the place, for them it was ridicules to but their life on stake, but the halfling and her human friend stood firm, for them the dream of treasures and glory made up for the risk

"the winner will then be rewarded with one million, yes I said one million gold
coins..."

some of the people who was on their way home stopped, one million was a lot of money....

"and all who doesn't participate will get the chance to see it all live, through a big
magic mirror we will set up right here, yes you can for a little sum see it all
live!!!"

and with that, the mob started to split, with the eager adventures going one way, to sign up for the contest, and the rest going home to their own buisness

---------------------

Deklus was one of the lucky persons who got chosen, and when the day came, and the contest started, he was readying himself inside his house, not knowing that a diety was interested in his doings.
and as Yuan-ti was about to leave his house, the god, in a ghostly shape, appeared before the startlet adventure
"You, my child, will win this contest and kill all other participaters on your way inside the mountain, and to help you with that I will give you this sword"'

the ghost stretched its hand out, and a crystal blue sword appeared.
Deklus not understanding the dark powers in the sword, took it from the ghost, and from that moment he turned into what he is now...: nothing less than an avatar of his diety.

-----------------------

to no one's surprise was Deklus the winner of the contest, and now he strives to strike fear into the heart of men, bu winning as many arenas as possible...
therefor he submitted to this one...
---------------------------------

Deklus is a chosen of a new GOD called RHARGY
He will win this pityfull contest to show his might therefor has he given his champion this unique sword!
This GOD stand for one thing SARCASM!
well it doesnt sound frightning but his sword surely is!

Deklus himself is 2 meters high, walk in a long black robe dragging the end of it behind him. his eyes is covered behind some kind of black fog which seems to cover parts of his face. his blue sword, is a symbol of his might, and anyone who dares to look upon it will face death itself (and if you are undead then you will see life in a blooming spring day!

At any point any player will be free to challenge, but during the preliminary rounds you must challenge only members of the allotted site for the next round. Exalted Khornate Chaos Champion Arbald the Destructer.[/B]

Background:
Arbald is a large, feared and skilled warrior, even by his own armies, he was an empire captain but after the Storm of Chaos the chaos survivors saw his skills and took him into the chaos wastes to Khorne himself. Now the only thing Arbald wants is to fight, a reason to come to this large arena, to either fight himself to an honourable dead, or to kill as much characters as possible.

Appearence:
Arbald is a large, about 7 feet tall, warrior, riding on an even larger mount. His eyes glow red and he becomes uncontrolled when he sees an enemy. He has amazing strenghts. His skin his very hard to see, only on few places, fe his eyes and mouth, is no armour, but from the skin you see, it's a very pale skin.(such as I-have-never-seen-the-sun-in-my-live skin.).
His mount is a large blood-red horse almost fully hided in barding, the horse's lust for battle is almost as great as his owner.

Equipment:
Arbald rides his horse, a very large barded horse. In his hands he carries a large, bloody axe. His armour is almost inpenetratable and so strange to see that you might be to confused to attack. On his head is something like a twisted, dreaded crown-like helmet.

Being relativly new to the site, i will sign up for the palaces side (i don't even know the other sites anyway!)

Here goes...

Opa Burble - Hunter of Nurgle

Opa had always been the chaos champion hiding in the shadows, on the move. He liked to find out about other annointed champions of the chaos gods. But more than that, he like to hunt them.

As a boy in the Empire, he had always been a one for tracking in the Drakwald forest. Until one day, he wandered to deep into the cursed wood. He was following a wounded deer with great facination and awe, when he stumbled upon an old hermit.
The mans face was hidden by a shadowy grey cloak, stained with mucus and blood. The man cast an enchantment on the boy and he was sudddenly possesed.
When he got back to his village, his rage overtook him. The curse was only just beginning. He was practically salivating with foam and dirt when he murdered his family and then burnt the entire village to the ground.
Then he ran off into the forest to find the old sorceror and become his ward. During the centuries that passed, he became a great warrior and deciple of Nurgle, until eventually he murdered the old man and left to live on his own, as he had before, as a tracker. A hunter.
This way, the folk of nearby villages became frightened of the Forest even more so. A whisper on their lips everyday, "Opa". He would hunt down anybody who dared enter his neck of the woods, the village would never see them again.
The champion became so obsessed with bloodlust that he began to crave more. That was when he left Drakwald and went up to the Northern wastes, to eternally battle other champions of the so called 'gods'.
And there he has remained for his whole forsaken life. The hunter.

Background

Loqrikai was an ancient being even when Chaos first spread throughout the world and nearly obliterated all that the Old Ones had strived for. During the battle, the temple city of Oyxl, his city, faced the brunt of the attack from the southern gate. He could feel the lines of power weakening around him and knew no aide would come as he held the barrier around his city, the deamons vaporising against it. Choosing to drop the barrier and use his strong magicks directly he sent force the fearsome spawnings of Oyxl, and for cycles and cycles the battle raged.

Loqrikai suddenly felt a great surge of power, Kroak had fallen, but his spirit still lingered and he felt the line of power from Itza grow behind him. Looking around he saw that only one warrior of his once mighty army remained, a massive saurus called Hexigor (blessed of the old one Oyxl), and that his city was in ruins; yet the flow of deamons continued. He called Hexigor to come closer to him and summoned a mighty hurricane around them, which picked up the rubble and trees and used them as weapons against the deamon horde. He held the spell day and night for many more cycles, Hexigor killed any who made their way through the gale. Finally running out of energy the wall of debris fell and Loqrikai was left to look around at a wasteland that has once been his beautiful city, without a deamon in sight. Renewing his line of power he could sense his bretheren turning the battle.

The city was now only a monument of death, the spawning pools had been tainted and never again could the city regain its glory. Loqrikai knew this and established a spell over the grounds so that no living creature could ever enter, a spell so powerful that all but the strongest mages cannot even approach it without losing their minds. The line would remain intact, but if he could not have his city then no other creature shall. Loqrikai then disappeared into the jungle with Hexigor following behind.

Many years passed before the pair reemerged, choosing the ziggurat of dawn as the place they should spend the rest of time guarding. By some divine providence the swamps around the ziggurat became transformed into spawning pools, and over the centuries that followed the ziggurat was transformed into a small city, another location to guard against the incursions of the evil forces.

To this day and after countless battles, the ziggurat has prospered under the ancient Loqrikai's guidance, the army of the powerful Hexigor have become feared by man and elf alike, and the shield has remained over the ruins of Oyxl. Perhaps it was fate that I lose my first city and be forced to move here, the slann thought to himself, not even I can understand the Old Ones plan.

The most successful Palace fighter in both the original intersite AoD and the SoC AoD wishes to return to defend his title with honour. Enter Janus Turkov, the Vampiric Samurai!

Janus Turkov, Vampiric Samurai. (Blood Dragon Vampire Count).

After being once again reincarnated by his loving Lahmian wife Jain at the Battle of Rezephua, Janus returned to Cathay to continue his martial training. He'd been good, but clearly not good enough! The wind has brought to him news of a new tournament, on a scale never before seen in all the land, and it is time once more to don the armour and unsheath the swords. Janus is tall, lithe and muscular. Clad in red lacquered samurai armour, his face is obscured by the leering visage of a daemon from Cathayan folklore. The once-kislevite has fully adopted the fighting styles of his new homeland, Cathay, and so fights with a slightly curved katana in one hand, and a shorter-bladed stabbing wakizashi in his off hand, which is held in a curious downwards grip. Janus speaks little in battle, but will acknowledge anyone he feels has been a worthy opponent.

That happens to me when I try and post on Druchii.net. Guests are authorised to post on Rezephua, however: it shouldn't be a problem.

Good to see you considering entering, but everyone: if you know someone who'd be interested, PM them. If you get a chance, mention this on other topics. Put it in your sig. All the other sites are pretty much ready to go, Druchii.net and Asur.org with full teams that will soon be compiled and emailed to me, and Rezephua with only 2 spaces left. 9 spaces left here is a bit much, especially when the arena is supposed to start on Sunday.

that mean the warhammer palace member who wins most matches for our site, are going to take the title, and maybe get a special avatar or such???

Fluff will come later. For now:

Andurel, Fallen of Brettonia

Appearance

Andurel, like so many Chaos champions, is clad in Chaos armour, leaving only his head exposed. His armour, however, is unlike the armour of the chaos lords, instead resembling a dark parody of the plate mail worn by the Bretonnian knights. It is lacquered to an alluring azure gleam, and upon the two pauldrons and vambraces of the armour spikes of dark iron are sculpted. Over the armour Andurel wears a white knight’s tunic, with the image of a Slaanesh daemon imbibing from a grail. On top of all this, the Warrior wears a cape made from dragon scales, similar to the type for which he Druchii are renowned.

Equally exotic to the Slaanesh follower’s Armour are his weapons. His sword is the elvish blade of a loremaster. Though its purpose was to capture the spirit of an ancient daemon that threatened the world, it fulfilled its purpose too well. Once the daemon was within in sword, it perverted the blade, and the mind of the once noble Brettonian warrior. It’s guard, once an eagle, has slowly been transformed by the daemon’s power, now resembling a drake. The blade itself still burns with an unnatural glow, but it’s elvish script has been replaced by the runes of chaos, proclaiming Andurel’s loyalty to Slaanesh. In his other hand, Andurel holds a kite shield with the sign of Slaanesh emblazoned onto it. Though it looks like a simple shield, it is in reality much more, able to draw the magic winds away from its opponents’ weapons, rendering their enchantments useless.

The steed which Andurel rides, Flesh-render, was once a noble Brettonian steed. However, the chaos wastes have taken it toll on the creature; the creature’s once beautiful grey coat is now composed of coarse hairs. Replacing the Bretonnian barding that once covered the horse, the creature is now covered in black chaos armour. Into this amour Andurel has affixed the gems and jewels of the enemies he has slain. From its legs, spines protrude, and its eyes glow with an unnatural blue light, adding to the fearsome appearance of this beast.

Andurel’s face, the only part of his body left exposed by the armour, is of a pale complexion, seemingly unscarred by war. Like his skin, his hair, now trailing down to his back, is a brilliant white. On his forehead, two horns have sprouted, showing his beginning down the dark path. As time goes on, these horns, like the warriors devotion to chaos, will grow, pronouncing his intentions to the world.

I know, but I guess Chili's ruling over the whole thing...

The Green Goblit :orc:

But I think that is only for rezupha not other contenders.

Yes, but who's actually running the thing? Rolling the dice, etc. My guess is Chili.

Indeed. I will allow Ogres here... although my FIST OF SMITING (ahem) is hovering overhead... but I will try to maintain proper Warhammer at my own site. You will see... the gods will punish you for your wicked ways.

Now we have 7 remaining slots - we need to fill them up. Now I'm going to be putting up the first pairings, all being well, on Sunday evening, so that means you have around 31 hours to gather up 7 characters. Caledorian, as "team leader", I'd imagine that's mostly your job.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a lethal Rezephua team of DEATH to co-ordinate (ahem).

Thori is the bodyguard and good friend to King Ulrik of Garaz Karaz, he has fought in the duels the king holds each year and has yet to be defeated. Many dwarfs have come from all other the world, from the northern holds to the holds down the south, yet none have succeeded in the task.

Resolute and strong Thori is never one to shirk from hard work or danger, he fears nothing and will always stand true. Beside his king he is a fearsome prospect, clad in golden gromril armour and his shield bearing the Kings rune upon it. In his hand he holds a rune weapon inscribed by the holds best and most skilled artficers, yet always he carries his hammer strapped to his back. When questioned he only ever answers with "you never know" and nothing else, he was sent from the hold by his King for a secret reason. Though many believe it is to find lost runic items rumoured to be abroard.

Aesgareth, Tsumani, Drauthnir and LordKjarl haven't posted a character, and I'm sure we could convince them to join our merry band of killers. Just a thought.

Prince Cal - January 1, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
LordKjarl has left the site.
Drauthnir I have asked and he says that he will post one later if we are realy desperate.
Not sure about the other 2.

Shaargor - January 1, 2005 05:54 PM (GMT)
