Okay, so I used to play Warhammer 40000 when it was in its second edition and now i have been convinced to get back into the game by a friend of mine who wishes to build a local following.
Now, I can't go to playing the army that I did originally because that was the Orks, and as we all know from the 2nd to 3rd edition crossover, the race was totally revamped and most of the units made useless. Besides, I'm kinda sick and tired of having lots and lots of weak units that just die like crazy (at least they fixxed the low leadership thing by couting up, I once lost a battle against Tyrannids in one move. My opponent jumped a Carnifax in the middle of my men and they all fled. Game, set, match.)
Anyway, I'm looking for an army that obviously has tougher units, and I also prefer fast units with stronger close combat. I actually kind of care about the backstories and so have gotten things down to Eldar, Necron, and With Hunters (I had Tau too but they suck close up and half the local players play them.)
So it's between those three, what am I looking at? (Mental note: My brother used to play Eldar so I have a good deal of them already.)
From what you said you want, you should play Necrons, although Witch Hunters and Eldar would be funner to paint. BTW, welcome to the boards
Go with necrons Their hard to kill and easy to paint
Necrons. I play tau and my freind plays necrons, and necrons OWN tua. Since half you local gamers play necrons, you will have a decent edge over other players.
