Title: Hero league...
Description: Sort of like an arena only a lot longer?

KaelTheFurious - November 11, 2004 09:10 PM (GMT)
Hey there. Some of you may know me, some of you may not. In any case, I'm gonna set up a hero league. You enter a hero, there's fights scheduled, rankings etc. etc. There will be tournaments and titles all that stuff. This will be something like a gladitorial league, without death and that. There will be times when death is an option, like in the monthly or bi-weekly tournaments (whichever I seem to be more capable of doing). Either way, the point limit is 200. So in actuality you can take a Lord, but heroes are more suited as you would be more capable of taking 100 points of magic items with them.

All the standard arena rules apply, Killing Blow is modified, no nominate abilities etc. etc...

Challenges will be made possible once the thing gets running, but only for those who aren't in a decided match.

Another note however, this will be held at two places, The Arena of Rezephua and here. So the tournaments will be of their best contenders and this place's so as to keep things interesting. Not like an inter-site war such as the one that was just finished. But more like the WWE with RAW and Smackdown!. But yeah...for those of you who would like to help me with the writing part of it, please do. Character submissions will be here. And for an example of my writing here's a link to my last arena at Warhammer Palace.

http://p070.ezboard.com/fthearenaofrezephu...picID=232.topic

That's a link to the topic on Rezephua. Cool stuff, I'll be posting my character soon.

And here is my character...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ageless One (Tomb Prince)

M – 4 Ws – 5 Bs – 4 S – 4 T – 5 W – 4 I – 3 A – 3 Ld – 9 Wsv – 4+

Ageless One carries the following equipment:

Great Weapon – +2 strength strikes last, 6 pts.

Armour of the Ages – +1 wound and counts as heavy armour, 35 pts.

Vambraces of the Sun – -1 attack to the foe, 15 pts.

Golden Ankhra – confers a 4+ ward save, 40 pts.

Total Points – 196 pts.

Description - When he takes form, which is usually by sand, he is six feet tall, with long dirty-blonde hair (something unusual for his heritage). His armour is eloquent and stylish, it is a breastplate and one shoulder plate, he also has vambraces that cover his forearms and shin braces, all of which are gold and hum with magical energy. His skin is between tanned and pale, as if it couldn't make up it's mind, and his eyes are a deep green with a ring of gold about the center, but they pierced to the soul when he looked at you. He also carries a very large and elaborate great weapon stained with the blood of his enemies. When he is slain, or thought to have been slain, he just falls into a pile of sand, that flows slowly away to rest again with the wind, until he is ready to appear once more.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Changed the character so I can test it, just got the Tomb Kings book. =D

Zarth the Foresworn, Champion of Chaos (100 points)

M: 4
WS: 7
BS: 3
S: 5 (6)
T: 4
W: 2
I: 7
A: 4
Ld: 8

Save: 1+
Ward: variable

Mark of chaos undivided (re-roll failed psychology tests, free)

Equipment:
Annointed Sword Zarth's sword has been immersed in the blood of a daemon, imbuing it with the undiluted essence of pure chaos. It now strikes at both flesh and spirit, making it deadly even to creatures that steel could not normally harm. The annointed blade is magical and grants +1 Strength to all attacks made with it, +20 points

Runic Armour of Prophecy Etched upon the surface of Zarth's armour are ever-shifting images and runic symbols of chaos. If they are looked upon closely, they reveal to the watcher images of their own demise at the hands of the armour's wearer. This often causes them to lose hope, and fight only halfheartedly, for how can one hope to oppose a being that is destined by the will of the gods to be their undoing? The Runic Armour of Prophecy grants a 4+ save, and foes must re-roll successful hits. +30 points

Corrupted Sigil of Sigmar This talisman of the hammer, which once represented Zarth's faith in Sigmar, has become twisted and corrupted by the power of chaos to which it has been exposed. It now flows and runs constantly, as though forged from molten steel, though it does not seem to burn his flesh, and represent the corruption of chaos that now rules this warrior's soul. it still bears some of its former protective powers, though these are fickle at best, for they are now controlled by the vindictive whims of the chaos gods. At the beginning of the battle, roll a D6. On a 1, for the rest of the battle, Zarth has a 6+ ward save. On a 2 or 3, this becomes a 5+ ward save, and on a 4 or higher, it is a 4+ ward save. +30 points

Shield This shield is only the most recent of those that Zarth has taken from his fallen foes. It is a crude and battered kite shield that probably once belonged to a knight of the south, though its former emblems were scratched off and replaced by the star of chaos, crudely daubed upon it in dried blood. 6+ save, +2 points

Barded Chaos Steed Zarth still rides the same proud destrier that he once set out into the wastes upon, though it too has been irrevocably changed by the malevolent powers of the gods. It is now a tempermental beast, more powerful than an ordinary steed, and unwilling to allow any but Zarth to come near it. Movement 7, grants a 5+ save, and makes one WS3 I3 S4 attack per round, +12 points

Total Cost: 199 points

Summary:
4 WS7 I7 S6 attacks, enemies must re-roll successful hits against Zarth, a 1+ save, a 6+, 5+ or 4+ ward save, and a steed that makes one WS3 I3 S4 attack per round. Also note that Zarth re-rolls failed psychology tests.

History

Zarth was once a proud templar of Sigmar, whose devotion to the people of the empire was matched only by his fervent desire to see the abominations of chaos wiped off the face of the earth. When rumors of the gathering hordes in the north reached the sigmarites in Ostland, Zarth, filled with the arrogance of youth and an unflinching faith in his god, rode north with the intention of defeating the tribal leader Archaon in single combat and thus dispelling this growing threat. His martial pride and unflinching hatred made him easy prey for the corrupting influence of chaos, and as he rode through the realm of the gods, his goals were gradually subverted. He slew countless daemonic creatures, and their blood only corrupted him further. Eventually, he came to see his victories not as proof of Sigmar's power, but as evidence of his own invincibility. Such was his hubris that he began to openly mock Sigmar's power, which caused the god's favor to be withdrawn. The chaos gods then placed the full weight of their influence upon him, turning Zarth forever from the light and onto the path of ruin.

He now rides through the north upon his blood-covered steed, clad in the arms and armour of those champions that he has slain. He no longer has any goals beyond the next kill, rejoicing solely in his own martial prowesse. He does not acknowledge the power that the gods have bestowed upon him, thinking himself to be beyond the will of any divine entity. They find his hubris amusing, and as he achieves their goals regardless of his own beliefs, they continue to watch him with interest, waiting eagerly for the day when he at last acknowledges their power, and takes for himself the mantle of champion, leading their armies against the forces of light...

Before things get too far, I'd just like to add that no duplicate items are allowed. So if someone is already using an item you can't use it unless it's a common magic item.

here's my entry:

Aravar Galdean

BS6

Ld10

High Elf Prince (125pts)

Pure of Heart (0 pts)- the character, and any unit he joins is immune to panic

Armor of the Gods (35pts)- This armor is a 3+ armor save on the wielder, and in addition raises the character's strength charactaristic by 1. it also can only be used by models of foot

Swordmaster (40pts)- Any HE with this honor has a greatsword, and because he has trained at teh white tower of hoeth, can attack with this weapon and he strikes in initiative order, and the character also has the killing blow ability

Fluff:Aravar is an elf from the noble Tiranocian house of Galdean. Aravar is a handsome, tall elf with flowing blond hair and draped in blue and yellow robes over fine elven armor. Like ever noble from Tiranoc, Aravar was trained in the art of the chariot, and can use it to dweady skill, like any Tiranocian lords. Being a great follower of Asuryon, he interpreted his faith differently than many. He thought it very strange to ride in a chariot, but he was more intrested in the things that pulled them. He also interpreted his faith that it could be a sin to ride anything other than the holy elven horse. He became very affectionate to one horse, named Maevanis, and he has an skill with his horse that some Ellyrions even envy. He also uses a weapon that is almost outdated in Asur culture, the glaive. The glaive is a combination of a sword and a spear and a halberd that is truely deadly. It has been taught in the house of Galdean for centuries, and Aravar, even being an anomoly, is no exception to that rule.

Tobias, Priest of the Flame
Empire Elector Count
M4(7) WS5 BS5 S4(6) T4 W3 I5 A3 Ld9
(By the way, if you'll let me use the standard Rezephua equalizers, let me know. It'd change the character a bit.)

Tobias is a member of the order of the Church of the Flame, a relatively small religious order within the Empire that is devoted to serving the spirit of Fire. While many holy men live lives of seclusion and peace, Tobias has lived an eventful life, and still crusades to advance the church's power.

He dresses in the standard red robes of his order, though he prefers to wear the hood down, rather than cover his face. He is remarkably handsome, drawing the eyes and attention of all who see him, with a well-sculpted face framed by short, carefully styled brown hair.

Though he wears no armour under his robes, he has more than enough skill and grace to avoid being hurt against most foes, using his large, two-handed sword as if it were an extension of his body. All those who have underestimated him are now dead by his blade.

Note: His equipment is simply there for the rules' sake. Refer to his fluff for his description in-fight, please. His horse's attack can be described as either blows with the hilt of his blade or other parts of his body. Successful Armour/Ward saves are just him dodging, parrying, or being missed, ideally.

Dawn Armour: 4+ save, reroll failed saves
Holy Relic: 4+ Ward Save
Barded Warhorse (+2 armour save, 1 WS3 S3 attack each turn)
Great Weapon: +2S, strike last.

Total 192 points.
2+ rerollable armour save, 4+ ward, 3 wounds, 3 WS5 S6 attacks and 1 WS3 S3.

sry if i dint make myself clear but a blooddragons bloodline includes a full plate armour so that makes 4+ for bloodline, 3+ with shield, 2+ 'cause mountes, 1+ 'cause barded!!!

The_Eye - November 20, 2004 09:28 PM (GMT)
the 4+ from the full plate armour is only for counts and lords, you entered a thrall, so he doesn't have a 1+ as that way.
