Title: Greater Daemons
Description: which is your favourite?

Tombguard321 - March 18, 2003 12:00 PM (GMT)
In question mine would be the Blood thirster as screaming Blood for the blood god is always fun on the battlefield :) apart from that the lord of change is the 2nd in my mind :)

Moonshadow - March 18, 2003 09:53 PM (GMT)
I like the Bloodthirster, because he's as strong as hell, and because he flies.

I actually don't play Chaos, but I'm going to soon. I've looked at their stats, and they're awesome!!

Tombguard321 - March 20, 2003 10:37 PM (GMT)
am not a chaos player either am saving up and starting an army in summer to get either the Lizardmen or the beast men as all their models are getting done

Moonshadow - March 21, 2003 12:06 AM (GMT)
The Beastmen are part of the Chaos race. There are three different types of Chaos armies: Mortal, Daemon or Beastmen. In a Mortal army, the Core units are Mortal (Chaos Warrior/Knight, Marauder, Chaos Hound, etc.). In a daemon army, the core units are Daemons (Daemonettes, Bloodletters, Plaguebearers, Horrors, etc.). In a Beastmen army, the core units are obviously Beastmen units. In each type of army, your General needs to be that type of hero. I'm going to do a Mortal army, with a Chaos Undivided general so I can use mixed marks (Have some Khorne units/heroes, some Slaanesh units/characters, etc.)

Such as the slaanesh Hero mounted on the steed of Slaanesh

I think the great unclean one is the best the whole papa nurgle thing justb makes me laugh

InvulnerableOne - May 1, 2003 09:21 AM (GMT)
Great Unclean One looks awesome, I think it's the best Great Daemon model, as well as having awesome fluff. A close second goes to The keeper of Secrets

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 1, 2003 09:50 AM (GMT)
I really like the Bloodthirster. I've got the model at home, and it looks awesome.
I think it's by far the best of the greater deamons, with the Changer of the Ways second.

I think the keeper of secrets looks like a cow- c'mon guys it's neither beaiful NOR threatening

Khrangar - May 1, 2003 04:43 PM (GMT)
I would have to say that the Bllodthrister is the best Greater Daemon because of his fighting prowess and also the model. The Keeper of Secrets is a close second for me as it is fairly strong and can cast magic although all the heads suck.

I was talking about it's fluff, but yes the new model looks really stupid... Hmmm Hindu Chaos perhaps?

WaspEater22 - May 3, 2003 07:52 PM (GMT)
I play Nurgle in 40k (Though I have very little) and Slaanesh in Fantasy (and have quite a bit). So the competition was between the Great Unclean One and the Keeper of Secrets.

The Keeper of Secrets looks horrendous though, and the Great Unclean One is funny - So he wins :)

Moonshadow - May 3, 2003 08:05 PM (GMT)
I don't think that the Keeper of Secrets looks that bad. I hate the way that the Great Unclean One looks though.

Drauthnir - May 3, 2003 08:50 PM (GMT)
I like the Lord of Change because he's so scronny, yet isn't as weak as he looks. He also gets the Tzeentch magic - pretty devastating stuff. He also flies, and his new staff top is much better than the old one.

Zakash - May 3, 2003 10:53 PM (GMT)
Well I'm an obsessive Chaos player, ive played em all but Nurgle. *Prays to the Dark Gods for Beasts of Chaos Book*

Ive used Lord of Change, Blood Thirster and a Keeper of Secrets and by far the Blood Thirster was best, single handedly mauled a unit of 20 HE spear men (They aint much but even so  still owned. Lord of Change isn't too bad and Keeper of Secrets is good, Dont think much of Great Unclean Ones tho.

Ozru'Shan - May 3, 2003 11:27 PM (GMT)
The great unclean one used to be stupid, but i must say the new head is super cool!

In terms of game rules and useful ness, the Keeper of Secrets is easily the best.

At 625 points it is the 2nd cheapest, for which you get a Lv4 wizard with spells from the Slaanesh deck (i.e the best).

This baby does not fly, but with a 16" charge range and 3d6 pursuit move that is not affected by anti-arial magic, that's pretty damn good!
In terms of combat ability it is second only to the Bloodthirster, and even better, anyone in base contact halves their WS and I, and loses 1 point of Ld.

But the main thing that makes it the best is that it is NOT SUBJECT TO FRENZY.

Do all you who say how good the Bloodthirster is actually play with one? They are by far the easiest Greater Daemon to kill if you have any inkling of how to play the game tactically.

However, the last two incarnation of the Keeper of Secrets look absolutely awful, fortunately I have the original (smaller model) with a skull head and knee length boots!

The best looking greater daemon is the Lord of Change - this is backed up by the fact that it is only one not to be changed from 5th edition!

Moonshadow - May 6, 2003 12:54 AM (GMT)
The Greater Daemon of Tzeentch looks alright, but not too great. I actually kinda like the way the Keeper of Secrets looks.

Khrangar - May 6, 2003 01:08 AM (GMT)
The Tzeench Greater Daemon is my 3rd favourite model for the GD but I don't like his Hitleresque mustache, it looks out of place on the model but that is just my opinion.

Drauthnir - May 6, 2003 01:25 AM (GMT)
I don't think the Lord of Change has that mustache anymore. It was on the old head.

Khrangar - May 6, 2003 10:17 PM (GMT)
Actually, both of the models have the Hitler stache on them. I still like the Bloodthirster the best and the Lord of Chamge 3rd because I really don't like any of the Great Unclean One models.

Vriishnak the Twisted - May 17, 2003 01:08 AM (GMT)
Keeper of Secrets for me, although I gave up on painting the model.
