MODERATOR: Welcome everyone to our second town hall chat session!

MODERATOR: Our guest today is Warhammer designer Alessio Cavatore. His latest project is the Vampire Counts Army Book. Alessio is also the author of the Empire Army Book, and had a hand in the Dwarf Army Book, Warmaster and the new edition of Warhammer itself. Hopefully most of you saw his articles in White Dwarf this month, covering both the development of the book as well as his background in the Studio.

MODERATOR: Today’s main topic is the upcoming Vampire Counts Army Book - feel free to ask questions about their background, evolution, or even short rules questions. Please avoid asking Alessio about things he has NO control over... you can probably think of a few. Also realize that with limited time, short, concise questions that can be answered without much research will probably be chosen over lengthy, elaborate, multi-part questions that require a panel of 9 judges to answer.


MODERATOR: Next one is about another bloodline you mentioned:

GWiz: I am dying (aren't we all) to hear a little bit about the undisclosed Vampire race (the one mentioned in WD) ?

Alessio Cavatore: Well, I could tell you, but then I'll have to kill ya.

Alessio Cavatore: Seriously now, it has something to do with a Vampire drinking the blood of the wrong thing at the wrong time...

There will be 2 new races and the one you where talking about seems to be orc-vampires :P

i thought it was going to be a deamon it drank from since one wehe chaos wastes

The one who left for chaos wastes was if i remember the blood dragons. But im not shure

I need to ask, where is this topic acturally leading?

And about a new vampire blood line it would be more like a Vampire whole had dranked the blood of a daemon.

I orginally heard about the whole 6th Bloodline thing way back when Alessio was interviewed and this transcript was recorded. I may be wrong, but I think that was way back when the VC book was first released.

This topic has been done on all the other boards I have visited, and from what I read there are two school's of thought:

1. The Bloodline Alessio was referring to was Strigoi. I'm not sure if it was, but it wouldn't surprise me. Doesn't fit in with the whole wrong blood drinky thing either.

2. The general consensus was that the Vampire drank the blood of a daemon. Now, this is going to have dramatic effects on a Vamps metabolism, and I get the horrible feeling that it will be a Vampire that only Chaos can use.

Idea's for the new bloodline's power include causing Terror due to mutable effects of Daemon blood, more offensive magic in line with Tzeentch and some nasty close combat skills akin to Blood Dragon's and Strigoi. Could be a while before we see anything though.

Any other ideas for bloodline powers for a daemon vampire?

I'm pretty sure they're talking about the Strigoi. The whole blood drinking thing would be feeding off corpses, which none of the other bloodlines do. Obviously, I don't have fact to back it up, but it makes sense to me.

I would think it was Strigoi too, but if there really is another vampire type out there, then I think it'll be a vampire in Lustria who went mad and had to drink the poisoned blood of one of the locals. A slightly reptillian vampire!
