Just had to share my rotten luck with the rest of you. 1250 point game last night against Brets. Managed to maneuver so I got a charge with my unit of chosen knights of chaos (undivided) on a lance of Knights of the Realm. Not a single wound!!! Not one! None in response either but still lost the combat, failed the break test and was run down. :( The next turn, my unit of 15 Warriors and my exhalted champion failed a panic test and fled off the board. That was over 700 points in two turns.
Basically the end of the game at that point. Couldn't see a beast herd and five furies taking on questing knights, knights of the realm and errants on their own!
On the other hand, I did have a unit of warhounds pass a panic test by rolling a three.
*sigh* Oh well, there's always next time I suppose.
Ha! That'll teach you to take expensive units! ;)
True. :D I'm definitely learning about the eggs in one basket issue in smaller point value games. Sometimes it works, but it's risky. And I just found out the downside first hand. Wanted to give them a run though. I'm still working through the various options to see what works well and what doesn't.
You failed a re-rollable break test with Ld 8 troops?
That's impressive.
Yep, and that's not even the best bit. Then failed three more Ld8 tests next round. That's 5 failures in a row. Hahaha.... funny.
And it gets better. Earlier in that game I passed a panic test with a unit of warhounds. Rolled a 3.
Gee. Let me think. Which test would I rather have passed... :)
