Title: Quenelles Army
Description: The Purist Army
Scaly - August 10, 2004 09:16 PM (GMT)
This Army hails from the Dukedom of Quenelles and is lead by the twin brothers who happen to be sons of Tancred II, Duke of Quenelles. They have already achieved great honor due to their co-discovery of the grail at such a young age (being in their mid 20s). Their knights under their command are held as examples of the virtues of purity. As such the Green Knight has graced thier ranks in battle many times because of their loyalty to the lady.

I like the army scaly. Very neat and oringinal backround to it. I like the names that you gave your paladins, even the damsels have good names haha  . Is this just a list u made for fun of do u actually use it to play?

It is a good base army with an excellent idea backing them, I would definately like to see what could be added to fill out this list to the usual 2000 points.

Banner of the Lady for a 1250 pts. army? Hmmm. It's not necessary IMO. There's other combos that are cheaper and just as effective (ie. Warbanner + Virtue of Duty or Virtue of Duty + Sword of Might just to name a few popular ones). I'd get rid of that banner and maybe field a unit of basic Mounted Yeomen to add more flexibility to your army.
Banner of the Lady should only be fielded in a 2000 pts. army IMO.

Hello all I can't believe this list is still here! After seeing Kingdom of Heaven I definately am strongly considering making this army, are there any additional comments before I go trotting off?
As for the banner: I am taking it! Fluff dictates it so!
Please don't hate me for necromancy!

The list is a good base as I said several months ago, it does need a few things to bring it up to 2000.
For a list of this nature, mounted yeomen would be more appropriate then pegasi knights fluffwise, so go with the peasentry for flanking troops, some archers, some men-at-arms, and of course a trebuchet.
Then you probably want one more lance of knight, if you can afford them, questing knights will fit well, if not just take some more core knights (whichever you like better between the two choices).

In my opinion, you have too many characters. It's dangerous to spend more than 40% of the points on them. Remove at least one of the Damsels. Anyway, Bretonnian magic isn't that great. It's not what will make you win. Just take some defensive items like the Chalice or a few Dispel Scrolls.
The Banner of the Lady, like the others say, is too much for a 1250 points army list. Mounted yeomen would be good, but it's expensive $-wise. I wish they had a plastic boxed set. The absence of peasant archers may be a problem. Don't underestimate them: they can be surprisingly effective. Finally, you can take any core knights you want, but in my opinion, Knights of the Realm are much better than Knights Errant.
Beside that, it's a good army list.

itīs fluffy for bretonnia to have many characters :) to bring the list up to 2000p he really doesnīt need any more characters, maybe get a bretonnian Lord in there. donīt know why people doesnīt use them, but then agian im no expert in bretonnian armies :)
