Title: Daemons of Tzeentch
Description: I'm getting a shipment on Thursday...
Ghanacc - April 30, 2003 12:18 AM (GMT)
Thursday is the expected day of delivery for some Tzeentch Daemons I ordered and I'm uber-excited. I have been trying to decide, though, for a couple weeks how I want to paint them. I have a champion of Tzeentch (the cool bird one...one of the posters here has it as his avatar, I don't quite remember who) and painted him almost pure blue (I was so happy, I applied a new technique...ended up using over 8 shades ) B) So, sinse the general is blue I might just use that scheme for the rest of my army...but it's monochromatic and Tzeentch seems more colourful, so I need to decide what colours for the horrors. I like the way GW did it, but I don't want to just copy them. I thought that the off-white one in the Chaos book was real cool (one picture, i think on the Tzeentch page). But I don't know how that'd look on the rest of the models... So what do all of you think of having white daemons (probly the borders for Screamers and the bodies of flamers-who would have the flame parts blue)? Iono, I need suggestions. Thank you all in advance.

I don't see a problem in making white daemons. If you think they'll look good, try one. If you don't like the way it turns out, just paint over it. That's one thing I love about Warhammer models. If you paint something and you don't like the way it looks, you can just paint right over it.

Not with all things. The first paint affects the next. You could just go over it in black and then repaint, but that's way too much effort.

Seems nice, i was the guy with the tzeentch champ as my avatar (hence my name) put i changed the avatar to fit my RPG character more

If you do decide to go with blue daemons, you could do what one of the GW staff did in one of the WDs, forget which issue. He painted them red but some of them were blue to go with the old Red Horror/Blue Horror kind of thing only you could reverse it so that some are red while most are blue just to give you some variety. Just a thought.

dude, make your demons barbie themed, pink and white man, they would be original and umm... sensitive. :D

Don't laugh. I know somebody with a pink and white Barbia themed Chaos army. The worst part is that he consistantly beats just about everybody he plays. It sucks watching your army be picked apart by hot pink Chosen Knights.

Paint some models, pick the paint scheme you like, and try to picture an entire unit of them (It can look quite different when there are many - Usually better :) )
Then use Acetone to remove the paint from the models you "liked less" or "disliked" , primve em again, and paint up the unit with your chosen scheme.
Hope this helps!

Just out of curiosity, have you descided on a colour scheme for them or are you still thinking of one?
Ozru'Shan - May 4, 2003 09:11 PM (GMT)

Skritt - May 5, 2003 01:22 AM (GMT)

Takeru - May 5, 2003 02:53 PM (GMT)

Sorry I didnt reply sooner, I've been real busy lately.
I decided to go blue with white as a secondary colour. I have thus far painted 1 tzeentch champion, 5 horrors and 2 screamers (quite a feat at 45 minutes-1 hour each, and me being so busy) I have a couple more primed and assembled horrors waiting for me at home. It looks like it's gonna turn out real cool, I'll try and find some way to post the pics on a page and send you all a link if you'd like to see.
