Tombguard321 - June 8, 2003 03:41 PM (GMT)
I here by challenge all on this site to finally show your creative and imagination to the max, by holding the first ever "Create your own Special Character", as on this site i have seen the Scorpion king and many others.

Here is what you MUST do:

Stats
Must be balanced and not to powerful
Must have wargear with own fluff

Finally not that important, with all access to Digital cameras and the like, please post a picture of your converted special character.

There may be a prize but not to big a one. I will have to talk with Moonshadow and his other mods.

Thank you and goodluck to all who enter :)

Khrangar - June 8, 2003 06:26 PM (GMT)
Can it be a character and the what not that we have already posted before and just add on to it or do we have to make up something completely new?

WarlordTrik - June 8, 2003 07:05 PM (GMT)
Theruis of Tor Cynath

Takes up 2 hero choices
m-5
ws-6
bs-5
s-4
t-3
w-2
i-7

ld-9

Weapons and Armour: Chill Blade, Hydra Cloak, and Heavy Armour.

Chill Blade
It is a Elven long sword with an icicle in the center of the blade that was blessed by a mage who has long since passed. It was handed down through Theruis's family and now he is the wielder. When the blade touches bone it realeases some of the coldness only founded in the most remote part of the mountains.

It takes two hands to wield this mighty sword. It always wounds on a 3+ and confers an additional -1 armour save (for a total of -2).

Hydra Cloak
This skin is from a hydra that Theruis defeated in combat years ago. He was a champion of a spearmen regiment at the time. He ordered his troops forward as the hydra was tearing through the Elves flank. All of his troops were destroyed and with great rage he alone attacked and killed the hydra and it's apprentices

It confers a 6+ armour save and a 5+ ward save.

Special Rules:
Disgusted of Dark Elves
Wanderer

Disgusted of Dark Elves:
Theruis's mother was a follower of Morathi and left the people of Ultuan forever. She discovered her inner power and became a Sorceress for Khaine. When her power among the traitors was growing Morathi ordered her executed. Since that day Theruis hated the Dark Arts more that ever before.

Theruis hates the Dark Elves and will gain +1 attack if in combat with a Dark Elf Sorceress or Witch Elves.

Wanderer
Through his years of despair and travel Theruis has gained many friends among ex-popular in Elven society.

To represent this anytime Theruis is in your army you may include 0-1 Shadow Warriors as a core choice.

Cost of Theruis- 215 points

WarlordTrik - June 10, 2003 12:42 AM (GMT)
Is anyone else going to enter? Or is it just taking people awhile to come up with ideas?

Kingphesphestus - June 10, 2003 12:48 AM (GMT)
I'm waiting to know if I can enter my King Phesphestus character(in Tomb Kings section) or not if not I'll make a new one.

WarlordTrik - June 10, 2003 12:50 AM (GMT)
It seems strange if you couldn't. Because of your special character this whole thing started.

On a side note; will anyone do a Dark Elf Special character? I would really like to see one.

Drauthnir - June 10, 2003 12:51 AM (GMT)
I will enter, I just need more time. Is there a due date I need to know about?

Tombguard321 - June 10, 2003 07:52 AM (GMT)
I doubt there is a date to this but please post in A.S.A.P. though, Also any characters posted before can be posted again.

P.S. No grudges Khrangar, please don't edit most posts, tell me if I make a mistake :D

Kingphesphestus - June 10, 2003 12:59 PM (GMT)
I enter king phesphestus then if thats ok

Arch-Seer - June 10, 2003 02:20 PM (GMT)
Once I finish painting my Malus, I will post my character.

Drauthnir - June 11, 2003 08:36 PM (GMT)
I think I'm ready to post my character, but first I need to ask a question.

Do we post the whole thing in whatever section the character is for, or do we post the fluff in one section and the character in whatever section?
OR do you plan to make one huge post for us to put them in?

Khrangar - June 11, 2003 11:37 PM (GMT)
I'll have my character up during the weekend sometime. I just need to give names to his abilities that he has and I'll post it.

Tombguard321 - June 12, 2003 01:13 PM (GMT)
It's mainly up to your Drauthnir, in which you post but either way is fine but saying that I would prob suggest posting in here as Warlordtrik has done :)

Khrangar - June 12, 2003 06:33 PM (GMT)

Amour of the Wulfen
Handed down from generation to generation through the Bjornling tribe, the armour is said to protects its wearer with an unholy aura and give him the abilities of the Wulfen near their homelands.

Counts as Chaos Armour. In addition it gives Khrangar a 4+ Ward Save and all enemies are at -1 to Hit due to his ability to react quickly to their assaults as a result of the armour's ability.

Khrangar and the unit he is with are Immune to Psychology even if not frenzied.

The Beast
Khrangar has been dubbed "The Beast,' both for his physical appearance and his combat prowess. He has been known to be able to pierce even the thickest armour with his massive claws.

The Claws of the Beast cannot be neutralized from spells or abilities as it is a part of him. In addition, he adds a further -1 modifier to the enemy's armour save in combat.

Drauthnir - June 12, 2003 07:51 PM (GMT)
I've posted the fluff in the Battle report section, so see there for details.
It's called The Coming of Dhaos

Decertus may be included in any chaos undivided army. If he joins the army, then he is always the general. In addition, any army that includes Decertus cannot include any other special characters, and cannot hire Dogs of War. A unit that is considered “Immortals” is any unit of warrior, knights, or chosen. Decertus takes one lord slot and one hero slot.

Decertus, the Ghost Lord: 460 Points
M__WS__BS__S__T__W__I__A__Ld
4___9___4___5__5__4__8__5__10

Armed with: The Blades of Ethereal Wrath, Gauntlet of the Dhaos, and chaos armour
Mount: Decertus always fights on foot.

Magic Items:

The Blades of Ethereal Wrath (magic weapon)
These blades are covered in green flames, and were the gift bestowed upon Decertus by an unknown Daemon Prince. They are saturated with power and can now be commanded only by Decertus. This demonic glaive allows its bearer to reduce the ward saves of his opponents by -1. Normal saves are still modified by his strength, but also receive a further -1 modifier. This makes a total of -3 to armour saves, and -1 to ward saves.

The Gauntlet of the Dhaos (enchanted item)
The right gauntlet of Decertus is bound to his soul and was part of his gift. It serves to maintain his existence, and it is believed to draw its power from the one of the lesser chaos gods. The gauntlet gives Decertus a 4+ ward save.

Special Rules:

Gaze of the Ghost Lord
When one looks into eyes of Decertus’s helmet, one will feel overcome by a sense of doom and fate. Decertus causes fear. In addition, any models that wish to attack Decertus must first pass a Ld test or are not able to do so. This test is taken on the models own Ld (rider's if mounted) and is not modified.

Immortals
The Immortals are fuelled by the power of Decertus, and when they are near enough, they can share a portion of his might. Any unit of Immortals that are fighting in the same combat as Decertus suffers from hatred.

“I control my own fate”
Decertus is Immune to Psychology. If he joins a unit of Immortals, they will also be Immune to Psychology. In addition, if he is killed in close combat before he gets the chance to make his attacks, then he will make his attacks at the end of that round of combat.

WarlordTrik - June 12, 2003 10:27 PM (GMT)
Do we have to do background Fluff? The characters history. Or just the fluff of the equipment and special rules?

Thanks

Drauthnir - June 12, 2003 10:47 PM (GMT)
It might be good to do both. If anything I would assume it is the history you need.

Tombguard321 - June 13, 2003 07:02 PM (GMT)
Remember part of making a special character, is the background.

I'll update this page on who has sent in there character.

Warlordtrik with Theruis of Tor Cynath

I have exams right now, and I've already spent way too much time on the " High Elves: the basics " article, but if you leave it open for a few more weeks I might figure something out. I'm not a special character fan though, so I'm still not sure i'll participate.

Anwyay good luck to those who do, I've read some nice stuff here :)

Drauthnir - June 15, 2003 06:24 PM (GMT)
Are you planning on creating a character too, Tombguard?

Tombguard321 - June 15, 2003 11:02 PM (GMT)
To Drauthiur: I'm really not sure about creating a character, as I am hosting this one but don't get me wrong i might create one later this year (long time but keeps the surspense)

To Maelduin ab sardis: This is being kept up till the start of the next month and perhaps to the end, if alot of people join in.

Everyone keep the Characters coming in!

Also the prize has been justified, it will be a custom title but only winner gets one of his/her choice.

Tombguard321 - June 20, 2003 12:35 PM (GMT)
Keep the characters coming, I would like to see some Lizardmen Characters and perhaps a Vampire as well

Lostvampire - June 22, 2003 05:24 AM (GMT)
Well i have started to build my dwarven necromancer  but i will enter with a Strigoi or necrarch conversion (dunno whats coolest)

Tombguard321 - June 25, 2003 11:13 AM (GMT)
Lost Vampire: This is a competition for special characters so unless it has its own rules or such, it cannot be entered just a warning though but feel free to complete its stats and fluff.

Everyone there is not long to go just a couple of weeks (2 weeks left) and there will be a poll added in which the people can decide who has won.

Dark Lord Jim - July 1, 2003 05:39 PM (GMT)
Janus Turkov and Agrippa.

Janus Turkov is an infamous experimenter, and scourge of the South-East provinces of the Empire and the Border Princes. Operating from a dark tower hidden by sorcerous wards and other powerful magicks, his Undead minions aid him in the creation of foul abominations that the gods of men, elves and dwarves would never let exist.

Recently, Janus has returned from a foray into Lustria. Here, after skirmishes with the troops of the local Slann, he escaped with what he sought after: the body of a Carnosaur, the greatest and most deadly predator in the Lustrian jungles. He fought off troops from the Empire and a marauding horde of goblins to see his precious cargo safely back to his tower, where dark things began to unfold.

Using the vast knowledge of necromancy at his disposal, Janus turned the Carnosaur into the most fearsome Winged Nightmare the Old World had known in centuries. Naming his terrible creation Agrippa, he now waits to unleash the part-monster, part enchanted machine upon whosoever stumbles across his path.

Janus Turkov may be taken in a Vampire Counts army of 2500 points or more. If you do so, he counts as the army general. As he is such a powerful character, Janus takes a Lord and a Hero choice in your army.

M WS BS S T W I A Ld
Janus 6 6 5 5 5 3 7 4 9
Agrippa 6 4 0 5 5 5 3 5 6

Janus Turkov is a Necrarch Vampire Count, and uses the above statline and all the normal special rules for Necrarch Vampire Counts (the reduction in WS has already been included in his profile). He has the bloodline powers Nehekhara's Noble Blood, The Awakening and Dark Acolyte. He also carries the following special magic items:

The Ruby of Midnight: Created by Janus after a narrow escape from a barrage from an artillery battery from the forges of Nuln in the Empire, this ruby weaves a magical shield around the wearer that protects him from larger missiles.

This confers a 4+ Ward Save against missile attacks of S6 or more, and also against any magic missiles.

The Staff of Eternal Servitude: Another artifact created by Janus, it can be used to store the souls of unfortunates who perish in battle with the deadly Vampire. Once stored, these souls can be let loose, where they will fly screaming into any vessels capable of returning them to life, i.e. corpses.

This is a bound spell, power level 3. Allows Janus to cast Invocation of Nehek at power level 3, to raise d6+1 zombies, +d3 from The Awakening. The staff is exhausted on a d6 roll of 1-3.

Agrippa follows all the rules for a winged nightmare, with the statline above and the following special rules:

Machine-Beast: Agrippa will take one less wound from combat resolution than normal, exactly as if he was within 12" of the Vampire Counts army battle standard.

The Monkey Totem of Quaxacatl: In place of one of Agrippa's eyes, Janus placed this small totem he stole on his foray into Lustria. It is a powerful defensive artifact, but the Slann resent it being stolen, and will go to great length's to win it back.

The monkey totem confers Magic Resistance (2). In addition, all lizardmen Hate Janus and Agrippa as per the rules in the Psychology section of the Warhammer rulebook.

Total points: 815 pts (430 for Janus, 285 for Agrippa.)

Khrangar - July 14, 2003 09:06 PM (GMT)
When will the pole be up? I don't mean to sound impatient but I would like to know since it has been a couple weeks since the last post.

Dark Lord Jim - July 20, 2003 04:33 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'd like a result as well. Doesn't look like there's going to be any other entries.

DLJ

Drauthnir - July 20, 2003 05:12 PM (GMT)
A poll sounds good. There's been plenty of time for more entries, so we may as well commence with the contest. No more people seem interested in joining.
