Hello all this is my first Arena! So here are the rules:

Select one wizard and you may upgrade it, legally, how you want.
Must not excede 200 points.
Tell me what the magic items do.
No mounts.
No warrior wizards (ie Tzeentch champions, Necrach Vampires, HE commanders with Loremaster honour, etc.).
No lord level wizards.
Chose the lore you want the whole time.
Any other specific thing.
Only the first 8 will be chosen.
You may chose to use Appendix wizards. Example are Festering Chantor and Eshin Sorcerer.
If there are any 1 time use objects, they can be used once per battle. Not once for the whole thing.

Personally, I would like to see a Necromancer or a Chaos Dwarf sorcerer.

Sylak, Dark Elf Sorcerer(ess)- 90 points

Uses Dark Magic

All Dark Elf casters get +1 to casting rolls

Level 2- 26 points

Tome of Furion-15 points- Grants the bearer one additional spell.

Darkstar Cloak- 20 points- Adds +1 power dice in each of my magic phases.

Talisman of Protection- 10 points- 6+ ward save

Dark Magic

Chillwind Casts on a 5+
Magic Missle with a 24" range. Causes d6 Strength 3 hits. A unit that suffers any casulaties can do nothing in the next shooting phase.

Doombolt Casts on a 6+
Magic Missle with 8" range. Causes d6 Strength 5 hits.

Words of Pain Casts on a 8+
(Remains in Play)
Any enemy within 24" and is visable. Any models have their WS and BS reduced to 1. Remains in play untill it is dispelled, I attempt to cast another spell, or am slain. (If I roll this, I instantly use it, then charge if I get it off.)

Soul Stealer Casts on 9+
Nominate any enemy model within 6" of me which may be in close combat. Evey model takes a S3 hit. For each unsaved wound, I gain a wound. I may never have more than double my wounds.

Dominion Casts on a 10+
Any model within 12" of the caster. During the next turn, I prohibit any action: movement of the unit, shooting of the movement, casting spells. (i will always use casting spells)

Black Horrow Casts on a 12+
Place the large 5" template anywhere within line of sight and the center within 18" of the caster. Any models under the template are automatically affected, and partially under the template models are affected on a 4+. Affected models suffer a wound with no armour saves allowed if I can roll over the model's Strength on a d6(roll of 6 always succeeds). Any model that takes a wound must make an immediate panic test.

Total:
3 spells
+1 to all casting rolls

Sorry Arch-Seer no mounts. Except for that it is a really good character. Since you won't have the Cold one, and since wizards aren't the best in combat, if you get words of pain do you just want me to exchange it for chillwind?

The Mage Azuriel is always anxious to prove himself to his master Kaerdroth.

Lv 2 Mage
hand weapon
Loremasters Cloak (2+ wardsave against magical spells)
Channeller (I can use 4 dice to cast a spell instead of 3)

If you decide that I'm not allowed to use the cloak (I wouldn't blame you), then replace it with:
Guardian Pheonix (5+ ward save) and
Jewel of the Dusk (+1 power die)

Either way, he is 180 points

I will also use the Lore of Fire.

I thinking 24-30 inches. Which ever will be better. Yeah, the Loremasters cloak is a bit too powerful for this kind of Arena.

Dangly Wotnotz(25) - Once per fight, may add +1 to any single die roll. Will use this to prevent first miscast or cause an irrisistable force if rolls a 5 and 6.
Nibbla's Itty Ring(25) - Bound Spell, power level 3. 'Eadbutt

Uses Little Waagh! Magic
1) Gaze of Mork - 5+ to cast, range 24". Magic Missile, d6 S4 hits
2) Fists of Gork - 7+ to cast, range 8". All models in one unit take one WS3 S4 attack
3) 'Eadbutt - 7+ to cast, range 24". Single model take a S4 hit with no armour save
4) Brain Bursta - 8+ to cast, range 24". Magic Missile, 2d6 S4 hits
5) Ere we go - 9+ to cast, range 18". One unit of Orcs/Goblins in HtH fights a round of combat with no return attacks
6) Hand of Gork - 9+ to cast, range 24". One unit of greenskins in charge range will attempt to charge, enemy can only hold.

Aesis- Fire Ball and Fiery Blast.

Sylak- Soul Stealer, Chillwind, and Black Horrow.

Azuriel- Conflagration of Doom and Fire Ball.

Wunda- Brain Busta and Gaze of Mork.

Selenor- Wall of Fire, Flaming Sword of Rhuin, and Conflagration of Doom.

Tenqxi- Forked Lightning and Storm of Cronos.

Johann- Vanhels Dance Macabre and Curse of Years (you chose which one will be traded in for Invocation)

Kai-Loq- Second Sign of Amul and Uranons Thunder Bolt.

If any of you would like to exchange one of your spells for the 1st one tell me which one. Also tell me what spells are more important to you on average how many die would you like for the spell.

Yes, so every lvl 2 wizard without special magic items will have 4 die.

Wunda will use two dice on each spell, starting with Gaze of Mork. The bound spell will be used before he attempts casting with any dice.

Sylak will use as many dice as possible to dispell.

He will use 2 Dice to cast Chillwind each turn. If it fails, I will cast it again with my remaining dice. If I succeed, I will use the reamaining dice to cast Black Horror.

Don't forget the +1 to casting rolls I always get.

I accept the challenge of Sylak.

Azuriel will use the Conflagration of Doom on 3 dice every turn.
If that fails, he will then try casting Fire Balls with his remaining 2.
I get the +1 to my dispel rolls too.

Arch-Seer, wizards can't attempt the same spell more than once unless that wizard has a magic item allowing him/her to do so.

    lol, I tried that little trick too, but unfortunately we can't use the cloak. It would make us the easy winners of this arena.

    invocation of nehek:
    (choose either skellies or zombies)
    put the new unit anywhere within 18 inches
    if you put them in front of a unit or character, than tey start 1 inch away from them.
    1st level: d6 + 1 zombies, d6 skellies cast on 3+
    2nd level: 2d6 +2 zombies 2d6 skellies cast on 7+
    3rd level: 3d6 +3 zombies, 3d6 skellies cast on 11+
    you can also add guys to another unit even if in cc, they have to be in 18 inches.
    zombies have a hand weapon. skellies have a hand weopan and shield.
    if the spell creates less than 5 models than the spell fails and no models are created.

    hand of dust:
    remains in play
    cast on 7+
    caster has 1 attack. if he hits an opponent in cc, than the opponent dies automatically with no armour saves allowed.



    Hellish vigour:
    cast on: 7+
    target an undead unit within 18 inches.
    in the next close combat phase they always strike first (even if theyve been charged!) and can re-roll missed to hit rolls.



    gaze of nagash:
    cast on 8+
    magic missile:
    causes 2d6 strength 4 hits.

    Vanhel's Danse Macabre
    cast on 9+
    this spell can be cast on a friendly undead unit in 18 inches not in cc.
    the unit can make a normal move of up to 8 inches and can charge a unit withhin 8 inches.

    Curse of Years:
    cast on 10+
    remains in play
    cast on any enemy unit within 24 inches.
    roll a d6 for each model in the unit.
    on a 6 the model takes a wound with no armour saves allowed.
    in the casters next magic phase, it will wound on a 5+ (if it is still in play), etc to a minimum of 2+

    (p.s. do we need a flow chart so you know what to do?)
    he can have of 2 spells.
    he can trade any 1 spell for invocation of nehek.

    On a side note Moonshadow, your combo is legal in my Arena.
    Also, HardtoChoose, your character isn't legal. It can only take 50 points of magic tiems, not 100. And arcane items are allowed.

    ah, shoot. i got the ones that are hard to cast with 4 dice! oh well, ill trade danse macabre for invocation (the zombies are their to annoy) and hope i get curse of years cast! (p.s.: whenever i have a unit of zombies, cast invocation and add guys to that unit) always cast 2nd level unless i only have 1 dice than use first level (obviously).

    (i was hoping for gaze of nagash)

    p.s: do you know zombie stats?

    I can get the stats for zombies. Are you sure you don't want Dance of Macabre? It is really good. Plus Curse of years is a remain in play spell. Which means you can't use any other spell as long as you want to continue Curse of Years.
