Title: New Units?
Description: A poll

JinUlrik - June 6, 2003 06:09 PM (GMT)
What do you think?

gandalf - June 6, 2003 06:40 PM (GMT)
I'd quite like the beastmaster in, all the units uve mentioned are good to be brought in IMo, cept the chariot, which goes against WE fluff IMHO

Tombguard321 - June 6, 2003 07:05 PM (GMT)
I say give them a new unit allow them to have groups of Eagle riders with bows :)

Moonshadow - June 6, 2003 09:41 PM (GMT)
I said Stag Riders because that would be soooooooooo cool! I'm reading a novel about deer (Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies) and it's awesome! Also, Druids would be awesome.

For the Stags, they wouldn't have the greatest stats, but they could have something like +2 or +1 strength when charging.

Khrangar - June 6, 2003 11:29 PM (GMT)
Stags would be alot like boars where they get +S when the charge. It would be a very interesting unit to see on the battlefield.

Drauthnir - June 7, 2003 12:24 AM (GMT)
All of those units would be neat to see IMO.
Beast Masters would be great as they could provide melee or shooting depending on the beasts, and they'd have potential for lots of cool models.
A swarm would be cool because it would make th Wood Elves that much more unique, as they'd be the only elf army that has access to swarms. Again, it would be good for melee purposes.
Druids would be cool and hopefully would have a unique way of casting.
A giant bow doesn't appeal to me very much. The other elves have them, and the super archers should compensate.
Stag Riders could be cool; like boars without thick skin.
I think the list would be better off without chariots, as they are fighting in forested areas that can't be good for the wheels.

If you're wondering which I voted for, then I'll tell you it was swarms.

Moonshadow - June 7, 2003 03:26 AM (GMT)
I agree that a chariot wouldn't fit too well in the Wood Elf army. A chariot would have much difficulty going through the woods, because of the terrain. In the woods, it's not just flat dirt. There are big roots, puddles of mud, rocks, different height in terrain, and the most obvious, trees! I don't think a chariot would do well in the woods.

lol, i read firebringer.....i think the book kinda sux but u may think its cool.

Maybe like a druid figure?
If any of u know warcraft III, the druids of the claw, um whatever
seem cool for warhammer

Ansemite - January 9, 2004 09:02 PM (GMT)
I'd like the Beastmaster, but all were good except chariots, (too much wood is needed, can't kill that many trees) :D

necrojoe - January 13, 2004 04:44 PM (GMT)
Gonna throw a spanner in the works here.
Chariots ARE fluffy as there are great open glades in any vast forested area and the chariots of Equos were to guard the borders of Loren and therefore mostly appeared in open land or open glade. :ph43r:
Also have you noticed that our new arch enemy the beastmen have chariots??
To stay on topic all are good except druids. WE get into enough trouble for the magic we do use without adding to our problems. It may just be small minded opposition but there are a lot of them and only a few of us, and we have no real GW allies.
I think the most useful would be more magic items (probably of the arrow kind), not too powerful or too expensive but interesting and annoying, to take back the archery prize which has been lost to the High Elves bolt-thrower bow.

Ansemite - January 13, 2004 05:48 PM (GMT)
I kinda agree with you, new magic arrows would be cool. B)

Balder The Great - January 13, 2004 06:36 PM (GMT)
New Magic Arrows?????

That sounds very fun i`ve made an army list for WE (to use for those how are waiting for the real one but the link i tried to make didn`t work so it`s just me how have tried it and it`s really great, not to powerful but good for those how like the idea of geurilla WE and i took Magical Bows like a category of it`s own to be special for WE instead of arrows but arrows sounds even better)

PS Ansemite if u don`t like the preview i can mail it to u via msn!!!

CYA

Well...if any of those I'd go for the Druid..
The rest just isn't wood elf style...

Kroq-Gar - February 12, 2004 08:29 PM (GMT)
Beastmasters ,Druids and Bear Riders may be good new units but i hope in something that really differs from every other army...

Demon_Aenarion - February 12, 2004 10:05 PM (GMT)
OK, I voted for Forest Swarms because Wood Elves need a swarm of Pixies. That would be so awesome! Add in some Druids, make Treemen take a Thoughtfulness Test (cannot move on a D6 roll of 1), some Tiger riders, and stags (dire wolves counterparts), with a graceful charge +1 strentgh.

Take out the cheesiness from the Dryads (such as 6s to hit), and you've got yourself a pro ass army.

Neverwhere - February 14, 2004 10:33 PM (GMT)
Stag riders sounds good! But as wood elf heavy cav??? No that just dont mix with the way I view Wood elvs. They just arent supposed to be heavy armored guys. ;)

And beast master sound GREAT! It would deffinetaly fit in! and this is also where my wote goes.

Gotrek_Starbreaker - February 17, 2004 08:36 AM (GMT)
I think that the swarms is a bad idea! How many of the more civilized army have got swarms? (like High Elves, Dark Elves, Empire, Bretonnia or Dwarfs)

The Beastmaster could work. It depends on what animal it would be...
