for meat shilding =] and in the case he has no warmachines/shooting, for flanking/harrasment/baiting (warhouds, the dog of 101 uses!)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The general idea is that the chosen and warriors march up on either flank of the mauraders (who will be slightly behind and in the middle, so if they get charged the flank is edible by the warriors, the marauders need to stay alive) the BsB making everyone stubborn along with immune to physc for both warrior units should hopefully keep everyone in combat, where the opponent will get pummeled in rounds 1/2.
The furies go warmachine hunting and can also block blocks of nasties from marching, the hounds can be meat shields or flankers depending on the sit.
Tear it apart! thanks for any constructive crit.

one sorceror is going to do nothing in 2000 point, either go magic haeavy, or not at all..
your lord is pretty solid, although you should drop lots of hounds.. and get the rapturous standard, aprt from that, and having to many furies
a solid list
not too bad at all
but its all up 2 vriishnak really ;)
Devastator - March 23, 2004 09:51 PM (GMT)
I'd say to get rid of the warhounds and get Maruader horseman.
They are more harrasing i think and with throwing axes you'll get strength 4 ranged weapons. Very annoying
silva - March 23, 2004 10:21 PM (GMT)
do u not reckon id get pummeled by ranged armies if i dropped the warhounds?
XXXJaKZXXX - March 26, 2004 09:08 AM (GMT)
The list is pretty solid as others have said.
Swap the Rapturous Standard to the Chosen unit, it will do more damage there.
Reduce each unit of warhounds to 7, get rid of the sorceror, give your lord this combination instead.
Chaos Lord 330pt
Base: Hand Weapon, Chaos Armour
Options: Slaanesh [25], Blade of Blood [35], Pendant of Slaanesh [20], Gaze of the Gods [30], Enchanted Shield [10].
This equals to just under 1500pt. I would get as many Chosen Knights as possible with the leftover points (9), make sure they have full command.
But the other choices are excellent.
giles - March 28, 2004 02:05 PM (GMT)
LOSE THE WARHOUNDS!! your furies are there to take out big ranged threats, and u should be in combat by turn 3 any way, thats a max of two turns of shooting, only cheeselord empire players will be able to do any real damage in that time. OK maybe that outburst was a little to ott, use units of 5-6, as meatsheild, and you will do just fine
also.. where are your marauder horsemen??? they are a must.

no... dont get 9 chaos knights, use 4 or five possibly, but not nine. it is a stupid points drain. the lord combo that jakz mentioned can also be improved
blade of blood, pendant of slaanesh, trollhide armour, and something of your choice :)
jaks.. what is the point, if you are trying to gain wounds (with the pendant) of investing so many points into stopping them?? use regen instead

Wow, it's nice to see someone passing along the combo I've been suggesting for a while. B)
As to the list, lemme see.
First, I agree that the standard should be in the chosen; they cost more points, sure, but the standard will have a lot more effect there.
Definitely don't get a unit of 9 chosen knights. Why pay so many points for a single point of CR?
Units of 5 or 6 hounds are all you really need; stick them in front of your slow units to make sure they get to combat intact. After that, it doesn't matter if the hounds die.
Marauder horsemen would probably help the list, being able to get flank charges and lure frenzied units, though the fact that you're making all your infantry stubborn should let their superiority shine through.
I'm not convinced on the marauders, though. Are you sure they add more than another unit of warriors, even if it's only 12 strong?
Finally, I personally prefer to give everything the mark of slaanesh where possible, but that's a theme thing and not so much a functional one. If you're intending to take it to a tourney, though, drop the bsb and mage for more slaaneshi stuff.
It's a good list, and I'm pretty sure you won't be able to use all of my suggestions at this point value. Pick and choose, then get some games in and fine-tune. Good luck. ;)

i am humbled to you ^_^ (riiitte.....)
seriously though, although i see myself as an experienced slaaneshi player we live and learn, and where i would love to be considered the (or one of the) authorities (for this board) on the lord of pleasure and pain,, vriishnak tends to outdo me despite stealing my ideas (ok sure, he does make them comprehendable) <_< :P
i do love the idea of warhounds, its just i always try to make room, and never manage to fit them in, always going for those juicy (juicy??!!) demonette cavalry instead. furies are only reallym a must against empire, and even then i can often manage without, a long line of goats tend to suffice. (25 fit across a 4ft table nicely  )

thanks for all the suggestions guys!
I agree with u Vriishnak, that a themed atrmy would be better, the only reason the maurders are in is cos i cant give them a mark anyway, and the undivided banner cant go with the slaaneshi troops =[ Will deffo take most, if not all (where possible) of these suggestions on board.

1) 2k battles ISNT played on a 48 * 48 inch table, its ona 60 * 60 or maby 75 * 75 inch, so you will get in cc by turn 5-6 if the enemy just stands and shots.
2) If your gonna havea sorcerer, atleast make hims slaanesh so he gets kick ass spells
3) I would fit in 4 max oppgraded dragon ogres (great weapon and light armor)
Thats a unit of 12 attacks, WS 3-4 STR 7, Movment 14 (march) 16 W with T 4 and AS of 4+!!!!! for 316 points or so.!! KICKS ASS!
4) Drop the Warhounds? are you insane??????????? Skaven will BLAST him away then.!!! no chance.
5) Good luck!!

What are you talking about.
Deployment---24" wide, 12" deep, 12" from each side.
Each deployment is on the back edges and 24" apart.
SO...
Length of Board--- 24"(distance between deployments)+ 12"(1st deployment)+ 12"(2nd deployment)= 48"
Width of Board--- 24"(Width of deployment)+ 12"(Distance between deployment and board side)+ 12"(as the latter)= 48"
So board is 48" by 48". This is the standard size for 2000pt. My point is proved :) (hopefully  )
Nazgul - April 3, 2004 01:22 PM (GMT)
How can you fit 800 goblins on a 48 * 48 inch table?????? orm aby 850^^ its allowed!!!! its impassible. And the board must be able to set up all armys, so 2000 pts isnt played on a 48 * 48 inch table, its on a 60 * 60. or atleast in turnaments it is!
Vriishnak the Twisted - April 3, 2004 08:00 PM (GMT)
Actually, I believe the official size is 6' x 4', or 72" x 48". Regardless, there's supposed to be 24" between the edges of the deployment zones for a balanced game.
XXXJaKZXXX - April 3, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
Thats just how we play it and how most of the boards a GW stores are set up. I usually field a really big army and still manage to fit it in there. Although the way I have to set it up really screws me over if I fail animosity.
Orion_the_wood_king - April 3, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
Boards are 6' by 4' with 24" between deployment zones
giles - April 5, 2004 07:49 PM (GMT)
tournie boards are 6x4, as orion said. in gw the boards tend to be 4x4, so for more than 2000 pts we either have no scenery, or play over two boards to bake 8x4
