Title: ATTENTION: Sign Up!
Description: Campaign Roster

Drauthnir - May 20, 2003 09:21 PM (GMT)
Well, here it is, the sign up for the campaign that we'll do in the Summer. I'm thinking it will start mid-June, for purposes like school and to give you time to buy/paint what is needed to prepare.

Here's the background: Archaon is invading the Old World and armies everywhere are waging terrible wars all over the world. Some places are weakened because their armies are needed elsewhere and are ideal for raiding. Other places have been fortified and may hold something valueable. You have amassed an army worthy of this war. You set out, whether it was under orders, of your own free will, or due to divine intervention, to conquer and pillage, or even to fight for all that is good. What do you have to gain?

We will use armies of 2000 points
Campaign will end in early August

To sign up, post your 2000 point army and some fluff for what your general is fighting for. Is he/she a Dark Elf raiding the now weakened towns for slaves? Is he/she an Elector Count defending the province? Is he/she a High Elf Prince out to vanquish evil?
Anything goes, but it doesn't have to be long.

Drauthnir - May 20, 2003 09:22 PM (GMT)
Consider me in. My army, the Warhost of Tor Thalaas, can be found in the High Elf section.

These are dark times for humanity. If Archaon succeeds in taking the Empire, then the darkness will quickly spread to Ulthuan. Drauthnir and his warhost set out to the old world to prevent this at any cost, and perhaps find the chaos lord who killed his father...

Khrangar - May 20, 2003 10:17 PM (GMT)
I will join.

My chaos roster is already in the Hordes of Chaos Section but here are the tweeks. Khrangar doesn't have the Armour of Damnation, he has a Talisman of Protection and The Chosen Warriors have shields.

I am fighting to slaughter the weakling races that come to the Old World.

Takeru - May 20, 2003 11:53 PM (GMT)
I will play with my high elf warhost, 2000 is good. I'll pst my army as soon as I find my book...

Althas was born in Tor Elyr to a noble father, from birth he, like all Ellyrians, formed a special band with a steed, the steed was black as the burns on Malekith's face and therefore was subject to much druuchi coveting. One day, while riding through the fields of Ellyrion, Althas and his horse Storris were ambushed by a group of shades on a horse raid. Striking at the young prince, the dark ones could not break the defences of horse and rider and soon lay dead, either by the blade of Althas or the hoof of Storris. Storris galloped like the father of all horses back to the neerest town, where the dark elves were bound to attack next. When the two heros arrived there they witnessed a group of corsairs lighting fire to the beautiful elven houses and beating the black steeds they cherish into submission. Rage burnt like the flame of Asuryan within both noble souls and they charged into the town, with skill born of fury the two descended like a dark wind on the druuchi, the black of the horse a stark contrast with the pure white of the prince, this white soon turned to red with the blood of the fallen ones however, as they slew the corsairs with ease. Suddenly, our fo a tent emerged a massive cold one and his dark elf rider, he rode like a master, not as good as Althas however, who had been trained by the best Ellyrion could offer, and his slow witted reptilian mount was no match for the speed and strength of an Ellyrian steed, especially that of the strength of Storris, the battle was fierce and left both scarred, however one was scared on the arms and legs while the other was scarred on the throat. Althas rode back to Tor Elyr with a new outlook on life, no longer was he the spoiled horse riding prince, he was a warrior truly worthy to ride a horse like storris. The phoenix king has sent Althas and Storris with a warhost to work with the humans against the chaos threat.

Scaly - May 21, 2003 06:06 AM (GMT)
Assuming that we have the online thing going:

The Army of Tlax will fight

Mage Zltoc has been sent to aid the younger races in this time of troubles, he calls upon Manquoxutni to ready the force that will represent Tlax in the fight against the enemies of the Old Ones. Qudoxol, the Saurus-Vet, Readies the Temple Guard for the task at hand! Death to those whom oppose the will of the Old Ones!

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 21, 2003 07:01 AM (GMT)
I would like to join, but I'll only be able to do battle from july, since I have exams till then...

Maelduin, upon hearing that Archaon has started his invasion, has decided to turn around his expeditionary force and help out against Archaon's minions first. After all, dragons and elves van live several thousand years B)

For a full background on Maelduin , check the other post ;)

btw, will we be using only one army? Or do we just fight with 2k armies?

LordLoverocket - May 21, 2003 03:48 PM (GMT)
The dwarves are in.
Ungrim Ironfist surveyed the hall around him with a mixture of pride and sadness. He looked upon possibly the greatest number of slayers that had been in one place at one time. He stood and addressed Karak Kadrin. " We face possibly the greatest threat to us since the dawn of time, we will stand or we will fall, but we do so knowing that we are facing the mightiest of dooms. I do not ask for volunteers for that is not the way of the Slayer but know that your King is entering battle with you. FETCH MY AXE."

200o pts. Just right. If we post our lists then are we going to be marked for composition, maybe have some kind of award for most balanced army or most hideously unbalanced <_< Must start planning

Drauthnir - May 21, 2003 07:45 PM (GMT)
There will only be one army used, for which there will be points given to most balanced army. It's fine if you can only play for the one month, and there could always be an extension if need. The thing was, I didn't know when school ends in different countries. :(

Arch-Seer - May 21, 2003 07:54 PM (GMT)
Reklar The Champion of Secrets

A simple follower of Slaanesh, his calling was revealed when the God himself approached him in a dream and demanded he gather a group of followers from the neighboring clan. Done with ease,ho now rages war on the Empire, approaching as a conquer and ruling like a King. FOR SLAANESH!

Army list will be posted in the Hordes of Chaos section under Legion of Secrets.

Drauthnir - May 21, 2003 08:12 PM (GMT)
Just post your connected fluff. The army list can just go iin it's section. So basically Khrangar was right.

Luc_Arkhame - May 21, 2003 11:01 PM (GMT)
The Duke of Artois is ready to fight, he shall trample Archeon's hordes under the hooves of his mighty warhorse and cleanse their evil by the power of the Lady. This may be what Luc is destined for, and Stormvein will be their to guide him.

For my army see the army list in Bretonnia section and just subtract the archers and men-at-arms (all of them). For what I am talking about above see fluff in this section.

Kingphesphestus - May 22, 2003 01:46 AM (GMT)
there would appear to be uite a lot of good sides playing this.
ill play Tomb Kings
King Phesphestus has sent hi loyal followers to recover some artifacts that have been stolen by the infidels who seek only to pillage a dead empire

Moonshadow - May 22, 2003 02:09 AM (GMT)
Four of the greatest heroes in the land of the High Elves have joined together to defend against the Hordes of Chaos. Prince Tanaris, one of the greatest Elves of Ulthuan (I'll use their world, not mine), is currently with a small army, defending the eastern coast from the invading Dark Elves, so he will not be able to be with this army. Instead, he has appointed Commander Azral, his friend for many years, the general of this army. Joining Azral will be his brother Selenor, a powerful mage. Lord Urion, an Archmage and the head of a council of mages, will be joining the army as well, using his great powers in magic. And finally, Tanaris's brother Teriel will be lending his strength and skill to the army.

I have not posted my official 2000 point army yet, and I will do so very soon.

WarlordTrik - May 22, 2003 09:58 PM (GMT)
Count me in! I'll be using my High Elves and will have a list on the site later today. Here's the Fluff.

The Pheonix King ordered Prince Senthoi to help out the humans and shipped him and his finest troops out. But they ran into a horrible storm at sea and crash landed somewhere. There are now just trying to get back to Ulthuan.

LordLoverocket - May 24, 2003 04:52 PM (GMT)
Have we got a name for the campaign as I'm worn out typing out "the summer campaign" in threads, something appropriately dramatic for the initial warhammer palace campaign. I'll leave the details up to the fluff meisters amongst you.

WarlordTrik - May 24, 2003 05:25 PM (GMT)
What about the 'Untold War'? Since most people will be talking about the battle at the Chaos front. If people heard about the other battles they would think it would be something like a small skirmish.

Arch-Seer - May 25, 2003 10:16 PM (GMT)
And just for kicks, I will submit a High Elf army. I might actually use them if they prove to be worth the conversion from Chaos.

Paco - May 26, 2003 09:58 PM (GMT)
hey..count me Paco in..as long as the stuff gets release here soon where i live so i can get the new models...i will post my list and fluff later once i have them worked out...

Paco

gandalf - May 31, 2003 07:48 PM (GMT)
My High Elf army is in!!
The Dragon fhredrihck woke disturbed by the sudden increase in power from the rise in chaos, ridden by his master Prince Theseus of Caledor he ascends to the wind swept lands of Kislev though at first he was attacked by the Empire out of sheer fear he sweeps towards the north to help Teclis hold the forces of chaos

JinUlrik - June 2, 2003 06:56 AM (GMT)
Where are all the evil guys, we are being overwhelmed by the High Elves arrrrrgh, it was suposed to be the other way around.

I might join with my Vampire Counts to make some balance.

King Ulrik Flamebeard - June 4, 2003 03:10 PM (GMT)
My Dwarfs are in.

King Ulrik Flamebeard rose from his throne to leave, as a injured dwraf stumbled into the throne room, he staggered to the foot of the throne. "What happened? Who did this?" the King demanded , "They just turned on us, my Lord. The Humans. We were trading at a fair price, when a noise rose from their camp. Thats when 10 humans appeared their faces changed, defiled and the signs of Chaos carved into it. Then they attacked, unprovoked and unmercyful, they slaughtered any that stood in their way. Snorri and myself barley escaped, but alas his wounds were to bad to continue. He forced me to leave and stood his ground to buy me time. Forgive me Lord." The kings brow crumpled in thought "Get him food, water and a doctor." "And sound the war horn! The dwarves of Karak Varn march to war once more." The walls of the hall shook with the cheers. "Where's my armour? We right the wrong we have suffered in blood!!" :D

WarlordTrik - June 4, 2003 08:41 PM (GMT)
Ironfist, this is only for the sign up. You put the army lists in your armies section. Plus you need to name the runes that you are using.

Ungrim_Ironfist - June 4, 2003 09:07 PM (GMT)
sorry :( I didn't know thanks for correcting me

Moonshadow - June 4, 2003 09:20 PM (GMT)
I signed up, and my army is in the High Elves section.

Drauthnir - June 7, 2003 12:44 AM (GMT)
I'm going to end the sign ups on the 15, so hurry if you're not already sign up!
After that, I'll post a fresh post with the participants and links to armies. We shall see some grand battle reports.

May you bring glory to whom you serve.

Moonshadow - June 7, 2003 03:22 AM (GMT)
If Grimgor gets in a 2000 point army soon, we could battle and test out our armies, and possibly give you a battle report. Also, Nambulis has a very large army and he should sign up too.

pietermoris - June 8, 2003 03:42 PM (GMT)
I dont get what this is all about???How will the battle be fought over the internet (why do you have to paint your models then)or are you going to eachother???(that will be hard cos I live in Belgium)Can anybody explain it to me.
Thanks

Pieter

WarlordTrik - June 8, 2003 03:58 PM (GMT)
I think that, the mods and Ambassadors who are the main ones on this site are going to play this. You make up the list, they play and turn it into a story.

Drauthnir - June 8, 2003 04:06 PM (GMT)
That's the best part WarlordTrik, you do get to play! (shameless advertising)
Basically you get to play against your friends or at your local store (even if they aren't members of this site, although that would be preferred) and post battle reports on them. In the end the winner is the person with the best win percentage.
I will discuss prizes in the mod forum later.

Maelduin ab Sardis - June 8, 2003 05:01 PM (GMT)
I don't think we should add a winner or prizes, since it can't be checked. It'll just encourage people to cheat. Besides I'd win it anyway :D

Just my two cents ;)

gandalf - June 8, 2003 05:08 PM (GMT)
I agree that cheating would be a problem as we couldn't verify stuff, though awards for most intresting story line for a battle and most characterful ists could still win prizes IMO

WarlordTrik - June 8, 2003 05:15 PM (GMT)
Dang it, i guess I have to quit then. Cause I only have 1000 points of HE and I thought you guys would play.

Drauthnir - June 8, 2003 05:30 PM (GMT)
That's true about prizes encouraging cheating. No prize then. Sorry, Maelduin, as we all know you were going to win anyway... :P

Maelduin ab Sardis - June 9, 2003 08:04 PM (GMT)
Oh well I'll live :D

The idea of a prize for most interesting storyline is good though, and we could easily make a poll for best army, that way these things will be useful once in a while...

Cheers,

Drauthnir - June 12, 2003 01:29 AM (GMT)
4 more days to sign up if you haven't already done so. Sign ups end on the 15th. I'll post all of the final entries and rules in a big post on that day.

Drauthnir - June 15, 2003 05:09 PM (GMT)
I beleive this post is no longer needed. It may now drift off the board...
