Title: Great weapons for High elves

Anyone have a good idea how to make a High elf command/prince with great weapon?

I just modified my swordmasters, the new eltharion model is sweet, if you want a mounter comander with a great weapon then its pretty confusing, I would use a brettonin and replace the head.

You could always armour up a militia great weapon arm and add a high elf sword that is larger than normal, such as Tyrion's sword. It may take a while to get the armour looking good though, but other than that, it should look pretty good.

You could always get another swordmaster champion model and replace his sword with a better one. Tyrions sword looks the coolest, and some of the lord models have swords that are slightly longer than the swordmasters greatswords.
Good poses will be the hard part. If you don't mind having a passive pose, you can put the sword in one hand while the other hand points or something. For a dynamic, fighting stance, you may have to play around with spearmen arms and greenstuff (or whatever the colour it is now :huh: ) for a bit.

The archer models are pretty cool for this. I'm planning to use the standard arm, with a blade added to the lower half so it sticks in the ground, and cuttingof a bit of the upper part to look like the swordhandle, and then using the pointing arm from the archer frame too. I think that'll look pretty cool. It's all plastic, so the conversion shouldn't be too hard, you'd just have to find a decent, big sword.

Ok here is what I did.
1-Take 2 plastic swords from any sprue and cut them just below the blade. Youc an keep the handgaurd thing there if you like
2-Glue one of the handles onto the stump were the last handle was left off. It turns out looking like a greatsword.
My description here isn't that great, but you can figure it out.

if you want a really dynamic pose then I would take Eltharion and replace his head, he is one of the best posed models ever! I made a greataxe using guy once, it took a long time tho, I used a spear but carved an axehead out of plastic and stuck it on the end, it was great, I use him for either a white lions' champion or a hero.
