Description: I am needed to try out an idea here,

Tombguard321 - February 23, 2004 10:04 AM (GMT)
Following a name used in Gw called Heroes Quest I have been wanting to give it a go but without the models wise.

Here is the rules.

Only Heroes around, your allowed to use any races heroes and any TK or VC can use Thralls or princes respectively.

Heroes which are not allowed.

Wraiths
Black orcs

Your only allowed to use the equipment which your character can be given their will not be allowed any magic weapons armour or anything you can spend points on i.e Talisman of protection. Though you can give them armour, Great weapons and additional hand weapons if allowed, also there are no steeds.

Aesgareth - February 23, 2004 08:37 PM (GMT)
Varius Darkestorme, Exalted Champion of Chaos (100 points)

M: 4
WS: 7
BS: 3
S: 5
T: 4
W: 2
I: 7
A: 4
Ld: 9

Save: 2+
Ward: None

Mark of Chaos Undivided (comes free on the character, re-roll failed psychology tests)

Equipment:
Hand Weapon (A longsword, with a flawless blade as black as midnight, hilt and pommel decorated with the symbol of a bat and twin lightning bolts) (Comes free on the character)

Chaos Armour (A suit of enamelled black full plate, complete with a bat-winged helm and armour spikes) (Provides a 4+ Save, comes free on the character)

Shield (Black, decorated with a grinning skull with huge pointed teeth, overlaid over a deep grey cloud and twin lightning bolts)(Provides a 6+ save, plus an additional 6+ save in close combat because it is wielded in conjunction with a hand weapon, for a total of 5+ in close combat, +2 points)

So, in total, he has 4 Strength 5 attacks, a 3+ save against shooting, and a 2+ save in close combat. He also re-rolls failed psychology tests (including break tests)

Tombguard321 - February 23, 2004 09:14 PM (GMT)

LordChilipepa - February 23, 2004 09:28 PM (GMT)
Xochipilli, Saurus Scar-Veteran @ 85pts
M4 WS5 BS0 S5 T4 W2 I2 A4 Ld8

Cold-blooded, Scaly Skin (5+)

Light armour 2pts
Xochipilli wears a Stegadon Helm of the Temple Guard, and also light cuirass of linked bronze plaques across his torso, each plaque dedicated to one of the lizardman gods. These suits of armour are very rare and highly treasured in Rezephua, only given to the foremost of the Saurus Warriors in the Temple-City

Great Weapon 4pts
Xochipilli carries a deadly double-handed sickle blade of brass, made in the manner that the kings of ancient Khemri imitated in their weapons. Xochipilli's blade bears similarities to the blades of the humans, but stays close to the original design in that its blade is serrated, and its flat carved with lizardman glyphs to draw the favour of the Old Ones upon the bearer.

Vriishnak the Twisted - February 23, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
Vriishnak, High Elven Commander
M5 WS6 BS6 S4(5) T3 W2 I7 A3 Ld9

Heavy Armour
This scale armour was gifted to Vriishnak by his friend Elsuran, as a reward for his vastly improving fighting skills. It is styled for maximum protection without inhibiting his movements.

Twin Swords(count as halberd)
These paired longswords are Vriishnak's preferred weapons, and he uses them in an aggressive style designed to punch through defenses before return attacks can be made.

Longbow
A standard longbow of the type used by all High Elves. Vriishnak has shown amazing skill with it.

And a question: I'm assuming Aesgareth's extra wound is a typo?

Tombguard321 - February 23, 2004 10:37 PM (GMT)
Ok so we now have 3, I need another 1 or 3 to continue.

Aesgareth
LordChilipepa
Vriishnak the Twisted

Aesgareth - February 27, 2004 02:21 AM (GMT)
*groans* Yeah, that's a typo. Originially I took the mark of nurgle, but I wasn't sure if it was allowed, so I scrapped it. Apparently, I forgot to rid myself of the extra wound, though.

Tombguard321 - February 27, 2004 02:28 AM (GMT)
There is no marks except Undivided for Chaos and pretty much no blood line powers either

Kroq-Gar - February 27, 2004 09:21 AM (GMT)
Ringlud Axerbasher-Sauvage Orc Big Boss
M4 WS5 BS3 S4(6) T5 W2 I3 A3(4) Ld8 AS6+(HTH) 5+(ranged)

Great Axe (great Weapon)
A great orcish axe he forged himself with the help of his brother Brakali when he was young he use this axe for hunting Bears and Lions

Warpaints(For his warpaints he is known by his tribe as the Shadow Crusher)

Shield(a shield made up of Bear and Lion Pelts...he uses it only to deflect ranged attacks)

Frenzy(+1A)

(Hope i have done it well first time i try this...BTW i think that an Exalted Champion is better than a Black Orc...)

Tombguard321 - February 27, 2004 02:28 PM (GMT)
well first of all this is the same rules as Heroes tale in GW but made into an arena.

Black Orc counts as two hero choices what is why he cannot be added

also try not to write special names for your weapons as you will most likely find them anyway

Is fury (the extra attack a point based thing)

Vriishnak the Twisted - February 27, 2004 05:06 PM (GMT)
That would be the Frenzy special rule.

Swedishviking - February 27, 2004 07:30 PM (GMT)
Just because I can:

Chieftain Rackstik of Clan Nurf

m5 ws5 bs4 s4 t4 w2 i6 a3 Ld6

Equipment: Heavy armour (5+ armour save)
A armour made out of dark metal, when bought said to never rust.. Of course, this was a lie, as his armour has rusted.
Additional hand weapon (+1 attack, uses 2 hands)
Two twin blades, which has been added to his arms when he lost both of his hands in a duel.

Rackstik is a large, black furred skaven, who has lost both of his hands. But now, the engineers of clan skryre has added two twin blades on his arms.
He is the third in the clan nurf hierarchy.

Tombguard321 - February 27, 2004 07:31 PM (GMT)
I will need another 1 now and we can start

Vriishnak the Twisted - February 27, 2004 07:32 PM (GMT)
Well, we're up to five now, so we might as well wait for one more.

Markus - February 28, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
I couldn't see any max-point allowence...So here it goes.

Miniora Rimani, DE Assasin(125pts).
M6 WS9 BS9 S4 T3 W2 I10 A3 Ld10

Two Handweapons
As Miniora has trained for many years, her skills with two handweapons is incredible.
+1Attack (not in profile)
+4pts

Dark Venom
Poisoned Attacks
+10pts

Total: 139.

Note: I don't know if Temple of Khain Stuff is legal or not in this AoD. Just skip it if it isn't.

Kroq-Gar - February 28, 2004 02:48 AM (GMT)
Sorry i understand it's frenzy in italian is translated "Furia" so i thought it was "Fury".
I have already corrected it...can you add a link to the GW site where there are the rules?I cannot find them(that site is beautiful but is also a maze...)
Thanks for explanation about black orks for the weapons i don't see the problem...if you want to call it simply great weapon or use any other name it's not a problem...i was only trying to give it a little of fluff...(p.s. i know that if he didn't charge he will be slain easily in first round but i was trying an hero different from the ones i have seen all around the arena....)

Tombguard321 - February 28, 2004 04:14 AM (GMT)
This is completely different from normal arenas, It is a mixture of a Rpg, Arena and Dnd all in one I just wasn't sure where to put it at first, though I decided since it ends as an Arena it starts as one

Kroq-Gar - February 28, 2004 04:37 AM (GMT)
If it's role-playing then better count me out....i'm not so skilled at english so i don't think i can do it...perhaps i'll post my character at the next Normal Arena Tournament....

Xris - February 28, 2004 05:25 AM (GMT)
If there is a spot i'd like to enter Vedalken.

Tombguard321 - February 28, 2004 06:04 AM (GMT)
Krog gar, you don't need to write I will do it.

Besides it isn't a 100% role play I controll pretty much everything apart from the dice rolls

Xris we need only 1 more character so you more then welcomed

Kroq-Gar - February 28, 2004 06:27 AM (GMT)
Ok,thanks...so i'm in?
BTW You need 6 or 7 characters?I think we are already 6,that's why Xris asked...

Tombguard321 - February 28, 2004 06:52 AM (GMT)
ah my mistake, sorry Xris, you cannot join up but should anyone leave you can.

The winds howls down the valley leading to a Ebony Tower, following a trail, leading to one of the small Villiages outside the main city. Six warriors enter the town, the town folk stop and face the warriors as they enter and they tread back slowing in awe of the warriors.

A man walked towards, them

' Hello, I'm Galrend of the town's watch, I have recieved warnings of terrible things happening over at the tall tower which overlooks us and casts us into it's terrible shadows and I was wondering if you can help us?'

The first to answer was Varius

' It seems like the great gods of chaos, deem your small villiage in contempt and so it shall be, as the chaos warrior pushes past him'

' But my people are in great danger please help us' replied Galrend

' We should at least, help them their in dire need' replied Vriishnak

'Silence, weakling' sneered the Druchii ' why whould we help them, they offer nothing to us'

'we.. we could offer gold' Garlend offers.

Varius turns ' We are not interested in your gold, foolish human. What we are interested is the fact that we were called here, by some unseen force'

So the 6 Warriors have a choice either continue towards the Tower or Help the Villiage

LordChilipepa - February 28, 2004 02:27 PM (GMT)
On account of not wanting to do anything which any new-blood chaos spawn wants to do, and also on account of his training by Chili (Money is good), my character will help the village.

Markus - February 28, 2004 04:29 PM (GMT)
I just suddenly felt like changing my character to a Skaven Assasin just for the throwing stars, as I'm currently making a Master Thrower in DnD. Oh, well...I guess it's to late.

Kroq-Gar - February 28, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
"I care not...I wanna only bash heads..." said Ringlud...

Tombguard321 - February 28, 2004 06:08 PM (GMT)
I will await a few more replies before writing the rest. Also if anyone has any objections please let me know as I'm currently acting like a character should.

Vriishnak the Twisted - February 28, 2004 06:13 PM (GMT)
No true elf could leave these people in need. My vote is to help.

Tombguard321 - February 28, 2004 06:17 PM (GMT)
Votes so far- 3 to help and the rest haven't voted yet I will wait till they reply and continue after that.

Markus - February 28, 2004 07:57 PM (GMT)
How much gold are we talking about?
[whisper mode]
And bewere if you lie about how much, because then I will personally not just kill you, but also your wife, your son, your son's wife, and any other family member you might have, including your wife's niece.
[/whisper mode]

I vote to help. I'm just going in character.

Tombguard321 - February 29, 2004 05:09 AM (GMT)
' The gold of our villiage is quite reductant but I can offer, 200 gold peaces each if you can help us' replies Galrend

A Majority has chosen Help the villiage so we shall do it

Markus - February 29, 2004 12:30 PM (GMT)
200 gold? That's a good little sum.

I would gladly help for that sum. It's not often you get payed for killing people. What exactly is the trouble with the tower?

Tombguard321 - March 1, 2004 08:58 AM (GMT)
'all manners of creature come out of the tower showing signs of Necromacy, I fear the a Vampire rests inside guarded by evil men who wear Osidian armour, that is all I know' responded Galrend

<This is now the arena part, with several characters fighting non playable enemies>

will do this when I have time.

Markus - March 10, 2004 05:35 PM (GMT)
Had time yet?

Tombguard321 - March 11, 2004 08:33 AM (GMT)
Really sorry about the Delay people, I had lost Internet connection for a few days :( though I will continue this later today.

As the 6 warriors followed Galrend towards the outskirts of the town,

‘The Black tower faces east from here, it shouldn’t be long before you arrive’ say Galrend. Galrend’s words were true and the party arrives before the massive tower.

The 6 then decide to approach the door however

‘Halt foul creature’ a voice is heard behind the party and a young paladin and 6 knights follow him, ‘the monstrous creature is my quest you shall not go any further’

Arena time….

Combats are drawn between the Paladin and the 5 knights (these are just normal knights) there is still no magical items.

Rules of combat – Any characters reduced to ZERO wounds are not removed from the Arena but however roll on a D6, the results are as follows.

1 – Death, the characters wounds are too grievous and the character is removed

2 – 3 The character is fine however a roll of another d6 is needed 1-3 minus on stat line from him/her however this is decided by the player 4-6 fine but is placed with 1 wound.

4 –5 The character is fine and has all wounds

6 – The character receives an extra random skill so your on the (soon to be made) skill table.

Markus - March 11, 2004 08:46 PM (GMT)
If my character dies, can I make a new one which you introduce to the party somehow (saved in the tower or something), or am I just out of the fun?

Tombguard321 - March 11, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
Lets await till a character dies before I acturally make that discussion

Tombguard321 - March 17, 2004 09:57 AM (GMT)
The Paladin and the knights have the same stats as featured in the Bretonian army book.

‘I am Leon le Ranthan, I am on this quest to kill the foul creature above in this tower, though I will not let you turn away as there is foul creature among your party and the Lady of the lake will not be pleased I let you escape’. The paladin dismounts

‘Foul creature of Chaos face me in damnation’ points the young Paladin

As the challenged was issued by the paladin the rest of the party tried to place thereselves in front of the Lady’s Champion only to have the knights dismount and pull out their swords.

‘So you all want to protect this warrior, fine be it. I will send all your carcasses to redemption’

Markus - March 20, 2004 05:56 PM (GMT)
"That's not very noble of you, trying to kill people who's just protecting a companion, you so-called honourable Knight. Or should I say peasent?"

Aesgareth - March 21, 2004 02:16 AM (GMT)
For a long time, Varius stood silently, his gaze fixed on the paladin from within his bat-winged helm. Then, suddenly, he began to laugh. It was a cruel, chilling laughter, filled with mockery and contempt. Without moving, he motioned for the party to stand aside.

"The great gods of chaos have favored me with their blessings. The strength of the north flows in my veins, and my armour bears the scars of a hundred battles. I have slain beastlords and champions of the gods alike, and every victory has made me stronger, granting me favour in the eyes of the four. And yet you... an inexperienced, pampered little fool of a southron lordling... you would seek to test your might against me?"

Varius continued laughing, drawing his blade with slow deliberation. Then, in a swift, fluid motion, he thrust the blade through the air towards the paladin, extending his weapon in challenge.

"I accept your challenge, whelp. Now draw steel, and make peace with your ancestors, for tonight, the powers of chaos shall feast upon your soul."

Aesgareth - March 21, 2004 02:21 AM (GMT)
(Just out of curiousity, how is the paladin equipped? Is his sword obviously magical or anything? I'm still accepting, either way; it's just that I'm a bit curious as to my odds of winning this...
