Title: What the Wood Elves Will Be
Arch-Seer - May 12, 2003 11:22 PM (GMT)
I hope that GW mixes them into one, the feral side being Wardancers, the noble side being Stag Riders.

Something like the Night Elves in Warcraft 3 perhaps, Where they have archers and huntresses as non-feral, and all the druids as feral? That would be cool.
Moonshadow - May 12, 2003 11:29 PM (GMT)
I'd like to see it intermingled between Feral, Faerie-ish and Noble. I'd especially like to see Dryad-looking Dryads instead of Ent-looking Dryads. The definition for Dryad is "wood nymph". If you look at the Dryad, they don't look "nymphic" enough. And of course, Druids would be sooooo cool.

I like the aspect of trees coming to life as Dryads, but don't like the modles. Maybe if GE renamed them Foorest Spirits, then Tree Walkers for the champion.

feral, very feral, super feral, I want wooden armor and war claws and cabers!
Taki_86 - May 13, 2003 06:47 AM (GMT)
I agree with Moonshadow and Arch-Seer, the Dryads are cool but they are not really dryads.
Also, in Warhammer, a druid is someone who takes the lore of beasts, so if you really wanted a druid you could do it that way.

CABERS!!! not only would they supply the wood elves with close range special artillery, but they would be super cool!

Definition of Cabers:
A long heavy wooden pole tossed end over end as a demonstration of strength in Scottish highland games.

Well, I was confused but here they are Cabers! IMHO: elves are weak, they can't throw cabers! Personally I think the idea is ridiculous, but hilarious!

How come "fey" isn't one of the options, heh :)
I guess because the Wood Elves are fairly connected with the rest of the warhammer world, they're not really inaccessible to humans, except maybe in Bretonian fluff. Stuff about entering the forest of Loren, and getting sniped to pieces by unknown foes, etc. But hey, Wood Elf armies assemble in open battle and they have swords and armour like everyone else, so I guess they can't be fey...
I'm thinking in terms of the Elves from a certain series of gamebooks... anyone ever heard of the Virtual Reality series? The first book, "Green Blood"... that's what I imagined Wood Elves to be like...

I think they have a noble bearing but underneath is a feral hunting instict in all of them. Some just display it more, like wardancers.
I have a really cool dryads conversion planned, taking witch elves, removing the weapons and making branches and stuff on their hands, then painting them green. Maybe it will work, we'll see. But that project is on the back burner right now. Perhaps they'll redo the models.
Demon_Aenarion - December 29, 2003 04:58 PM (GMT)
I think they will be feral completely, how can they be noble when they live in trees all their lives, and hate everyone?
