Title: Wood Elves twisted by the Dark Elves???
Night Gobbo Zorg - February 1, 2004 03:32 PM (GMT)
Yesterday i was brain storming a theme for my DE armylist and i came up with the idea that a tribe of Wood Elves were twisted by the DE during a raid or something so i could improvise the models
1)Scouts=Shades
2)Wardancers=Witch Elves
3)Glade Riders=Dark Riders
4)Glade Guard=Spearmen
5)Archers=Crossbowmen
6)Chariots=DE chariot with a Glade Guard and an Archer
so wadda dik?
RasputinII - February 1, 2004 04:45 PM (GMT)
No offence but its not a great idea and it is impossible to make work.
1) Fluff wise there is no way you can explain how wood elves suddenly were armour, loose speed, get monsters drop their famous bowmen and suddenly change thier style of fighting. Im sorry but it just is impossible.
2) Rule wise it wont work either. WE fight with scouts, skirmishers, speed and their bow. DE fight in units, with armour, crossbows, multi attack troops and numerous fear/terror causers.
Its a nice idea but imossible to do. The only way I can think of doing it is by have a WE army with DE conversions but use the WE rules.

Ok just an idea...tear tear..lol.Well it was worth a try. well can you help me with a 1000pt army list Rasputin?
RasputinII - February 1, 2004 05:11 PM (GMT)
I dont usually like to halp create a list, because I generally have a different view to others on what I want in my army. But any way.
Answere these questions. It a good starting point. And there is no hurry.
Why have you chosen Dark Elves?
What playing style are you going for? (offensive or deffensive or a bit of both)
How fast are you looking to make your army?
Magic or anti magic?
Shooty, not shooty or a bit shooty?
Any favoured tactics or ideas that you want to use?
What is your preferred playing style?
What units do you like the models of?
What units do you like the fluff of?
What units do you like the rules of?
What units are a must in your army?
Who do you view as your general - what sort of image?
Army imagery? Got any ideas?
Now I'm sure if you answere these questions then I will be able to really help you. But I am also sure that if you Answere these questions then you wont really need help. Either way answere them and post the replies here. :)

I'm new to the dark elves 2, so if u could help me decide what to put into a 1500 army it would be great.
i now have: 1 sorceress
20 spearmen
10 crossbowmen
1 reaper bolt thrower
5 dark riders
6 shades
the answers to your questions are:
i chose them bcause they have cool armoury and stuff
playing style a bit of both i guess.
i made this army in a month or 2, i think i will do 3 month's over this next army..
i'm quite a shooter :D
i also like magic
ill try and lure units into my shades and after that i charge that unit with a lo of executioners.(i hope  )
i want to hack and slash with executioners......
i really like: dark riders, executioners, cold ones, assasins, (black guard are really cool, but aren't possible in 1500...)
i dont like: harpies, witch elves, cauldron of blood, hags.
i  killing blow, eternal hatred, the hidden rule, the +1 to all spells of the dark elves, and the repeating crossbows, also the fear of the cold ones.
I MUST have executioners and dark riders.
i see my army general with alot of armor, maybe on a cold one, with a halbert(crimson death)
my colour scheme is the same as the normal with a bit more gold.
thx alot if u can help me.

First of lets deal with zorg.
Iam feeling nice today so I am actually going to make an army list for you.
Noble (General):
Lance, HA, DS, SDC, CoBI, shield and HA (147pts)
BM:
DP, SDC, LA, SoG, LA (134pts)
6x DR:
SM (129pts)
6x DR:
RXB, S (151pts)
7 x Harpies (91pts)
5x COK
SMC - warbanner (215) - lead by general
1x RBT (100pts)
8x shades (112pts)
1001pts in total
3 dispel dice
2 power dice
35 models
TUS: 60
Im not joking when I say you really will need to use your brain to make this army work. It is fragile and small but you have all you need in it. You have 2 mage/warmachine hunters in army. Substancial fire power, although it is likely and acceptable that the RBT is dead at the end of the game as you wont be guarding it. There areno chariots in the army as they are to slow. One of the units of DRs is soley equpied for flank charges whilst the other has a more shooty role and support role. You also have 8 shades in the army which can bloke the enmies march moves and unleesh 16 shots at close range wit little effort. I haven't put any chariots in the army because they wont work. Chariots are for infantry support purouses and you have no infantry. I personally really like this army. I think with a bit of hard graft and TLC this could really be a kick ass army. But it might not be what you want. If not you might want to use it as a base for you to create your own. But I aint making anther list. I will hapily review any chages you make or even a new army list but I am not making you another. But I will help you if you want me too.

Many thanks Rasputin and what do all the einicells mean?....i know i have bad spelling
RasputinII - February 1, 2004 08:55 PM (GMT)
einicells?
What does that mean? Do you mean all the abreviations?
--------------------
3x3cuti0n3r, your turn. I hve also made you an army list. 1500pts as you asked. I have included all the models you currently own for convieience, however I have not managed to fit the spear men in.ted in your army. Any hoo, the list:
Noble (GENERAL):
COBI, halberd, HA, SDC, (133pts)
Assassin:
Additional hand weapon, man bane (154pts)
Sorceress:
Lvl 2, ToF, D. Scroll (170pts)
6x DR:
RXB, MC (165pts)
20x Corsairs:
SMC (225pts)
10x DEW:
RXB, sheilds, M (125pts)
8x Shades:
(104pts)
12x EXE:
SMC (162pts)
12x EXE:
SMC (162pts)
1x RBT:
(100pts)
1500pts
3 dispel dice
4 power dice
72 models
TUS: 78
Well this list is quitre different to how it started. Originally there was a chariot for your noble to ride in, but that put me over the number of special choices. There was also your warrior unit, banner for your EXEs, another unit of DRs and another RBT. But then found I wa 496pts over the limit. My advice is for your noble to go with the corsairs, and for the assasin to eitgher do the same, or go around alone. Dont put your leader woith the exes or they become too much of a target, however an assasin could join th unit. :) Its the assassin that is preventing you from having a second unit of DRs, which they aremy would really benefit from, perhaps more then an assassin. If you were to do this then I would have one unit of 5 (RXBs, M) and one of 6 (SM). But as you lie assassins I thought I had to put oe in. Thisa isn't my cup of tea, so I wouldn't be using it in a hurry. But I think its an OK list. Iam not overly confident with it, but would be more so with a second unit of DRs. You might also be able to work in your spearmen if you dropped the RXB elves and the RXBs from the unit of DRs. This would give you another unit of combat troops which might really help you out. If you stay with the RXB elves ensure you use them to get flank charges, and theey are I5, WS4 4+ save troops in combat.
As I said before, I wont make you another list, but am happy to offer advice and review any future modifications to this list or completly new lists you might create.

Vriishnak the Twisted - February 1, 2004 11:45 PM (GMT)
1) Wadda dik? I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.
2) Please stick to using a single account. Someone was banned for having multiples, and I don't think you want that to happen.
3) HE and DE are different armies, and the model ranges suit the army much better than using the other would. I'd stick to the intended range for the majority of any army.
4) It's spelled initials. Just for future reference. ;)
Skink Shaman Quixotl - February 2, 2004 12:11 AM (GMT)
1) what do you think
2) didn't know
3)ok
4)initials....got it
3x3cuti0n3r - February 2, 2004 02:44 PM (GMT)
thx rasputin II that list really gave me some new ideas :D
and i think after ur advice i will drop the assasin for a new unit of DR. i am now beginning to understand what they're good in, and i like it!
as for the corsair unit, i dont know, the problem is, u have to buy them in blister packs, and i dont have extremely much money... so that unit will cost me about 70 euro........ i think i will replace the corsairs for my spearmen and make some other units somewhat better. but u dont have to make another list for me, thanks alot!
