Title: slaaneshi high elves
Description: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I was considering using high elf spearmen as marauders of chaos, in the slaanesh fluff it talks of a secretive high elf cult which fell into the decadent worship of the lord of pleasure, and i have a spare regiment of spearmen....
i was thinking of using the slaanesh symbol from the chaos vehicle accesory sprue on the champions shield, and no other symbols on the other sheilds, just a slaanesh symbol.

Slaaneshi High Elves are called Dark Elves my good friend..
They'd be a lot more fitting if you actually want them to look the part, with the jagged edges and such...And Marauders can't have spears

i beg to differ.... read the fluff about slanesh in the front of the HoC book... and i would obviously convert them...

Read the fluff in the high elf books, Including last edition, The Cult of Pleasure came to be from decadent Elven merchants who enjoyed their luxuries a bit too much, and seeing as how High Elves were/are rather rich, they got more and more until mortal things weren't enough..So they turned to Slaanesh, And Morathi became the hag queen and Malekith did the Inquisition deal before killing the PK and burning in the Flame Eternal...Then ran away with his little Dark Elf buddies
And Marauders still can't have spears

Sounds cool to me, I used my old Witch Elves, removed their second hand weapon and gave them shields to make up some of my Marauders, and seeing as DE's are just fallen HE's anyway I think it would work they may not have fallen as long ago as others...

Archaon is wrong, Dark Elves major god is Khaine, not Slaanesh.
Rogue-Gladiator - February 29, 2004 07:11 AM (GMT)
Thank you for answering that. The Dark Elves major cult revolves around the worship of Khaine, The 1000 (abouts) faced god. Much of the dark elf army has to do with Khaine- Witch Elves (Brides of Khaine), Assassains (male members of the Cult of Khaine), Executioners (Warriors representing Khaine in the Aspect of the Executioner), Harpies (Fallen Witch Elves resurrected to continue to serve Khaine), Manticores (Khaine in the Aspect of the predator), Dragons (emisary's of Khaine or something), etc. THe Cult of Pleasure only takes up a small bit of the Dark Elf culture (the magic part), and is very small in Dark Elf lands. Not a majore religion or anything.
Anyways, as long as you can make the fluff to effectively make High Elves Slaanesh, I say go for it. Just make sure you convert them.

Aaaargh
I'm not wrong
Slaanesh caused the Sundering
NOW, Thousands of years later, DE worship Khaine because they have degenerated and became more bloodthirsty blah blah blah
But Khaine did not cause the sundering!
..And I got off topic..I grudgingly say it might work..But DE spearmen would look better..And if you took the shields off..Those spears look rather greatish Weapony to me!DE that it

Actually, Slaanesh-worship is fairly major in DE society, especially when you consider that Morathi is one of the converted. Both gods played a role in the sundering, and continue to do so now.

giles - June 7, 2004 06:49 PM (GMT)
ARGH! although i am also a perp of this crime, ill let u know, no necromancy!, this post once 2 months old!
Drauthnir - June 7, 2004 08:03 PM (GMT)
The recent White Dwarf article isn't about Slaanesh being the major god of the Dark Elves anyway. It's about the hidden minority of Slaanesh worshippers finally coming out of power to become a dominant force once again.
