Title: Is the steam tank worth getting?

It is very expensive but the steam tank is probably one of my favourite models. Should I get it and is it worth the money :huh:

Ofcourse it's not worth the money!
they take u for all they can get at the bluddy place.......i mean how much does a few pounds of plastic cost for a huge manufacturer?
BUT the only way to get one is to either go out an buy 1 or make it urself.......
first try askin round for anyone who has one s/he doesn't want.....make an offer.
The tank is a welcome addition to any 2000 point army....it takes 3 shots at max damage from a cannon to kill it...........

What it comes down to is, do you want a fun game or do you want to win? The vast majority of people, from what I've heard, don't like the Tank, as it's not only exceedingly powerful, but it doesn't follow most of the core mechanics of the Warhammer Rulebook.
You say you like the model a lot, so it might be worth picking up for that. And you'll probably be able to get in some games with it, too. But don't expect it to be easy, as first you'll have to read the ~6 page article on how it breaks all of the rules, then remember them, then try to teach your opponent...

And then you will find people dealing with it, DE fashion. Now for those of you who don't know what this style is here's what happens:
When opponent puts it on the table say "Take that off and put down a real unit"
Continue to say such things until they deside to play a more balanced game.

Not worth the money, and I agree. People will probably just argue with you until you take it off the battlefield and replace it with something else.

not worth the money, but it is effective in combat but everyones right people know it is powelful so of corse they wont let u have it, lol

what u say is 'look at this *annual*' and then reply to their warped logic that they cannot have one of their own powerfull units.
as u both can field them but the other guy says 'NO!!!' *whimper* u force him to take sommin away or u keep it. and refer to him as a 'coward', 'cheater' etc.
untill someone gives up.......usually the other guy as u broke no rules.

Well i think i should explain why! - Well it is big and scary, can be good if used right, looks funny, is the only thing that is impossible to destroy with 2 Great Cannon shots (hitting hard) and it simply rocks!
