I would have to say that Strigoi are my favourite of the Bloodlines. Definately not because of the models but because I like the fluff about them coming from noble origins and having to hide from other vampires until they became as they are (or something like that).

They were all rude and arrogant and then they fell from power and the other vampires and people hunted them so they had to hide and feed in cemetaries of corpses and stuff.

:lol: I love the story of the Strigoi army that scared off an orc army before going to war with a Carstein army. The Strigoi's army was defeated, but on the way back to his capital, the orcs, who had overcome their fear, had already taken it! The Strigoi guy went into hiding after that if I remember correctly.
That's my favorite fluff, but my favorite bloodline is the Carsteins. I love the idea of Vlad being an elector count, while raising an army of undead from the inside.

I've been considering making a VC army, but am holding out till they get new models...in the meantime id like to map out the army, so could anyone sum up all the bloodlines for me? Thanks.

CARSTEINS ARE STUPID!!!

Too sum it up Von Carsteins are by far the best. They have IMO the best fluff (Counting previous army books) and contain the best characters (Mannfred, Konrad, Vlad and Isabella).

Strigoi. Something about giant, insane beasts just makes me smile. :D

Oh, and Ghanacc, you do realise that there aren't going to be models for a LONG time, right?

I voted blood dragon but the only fluff with them I've ever seen is in the skaven book where it kills like 50 clan rats and 2 rat ogres, could someone sum up the fluff?

For me Von Carstein really do embody that traditional Vampire look. They are also charming (In the fluff) and sophisticated (Something that Blood Dragons and Strigoi lack respectively).

I love von carsteins for the simple reason i can say blah in a heavy transylavanian accent
I also like strigoi and lahmia but i like von carsteins coz theyre wat i consider to be *proper* vampires

I'll say Lahmians because i like the rules and i like the swains in the appendix list "oh by the way i have a dark elf BSB with the banner of Nagaroth (sp?)"

its gotta be strigoi... they have the coolest powers (+1 strength, +1 wound, fly etc) and you can get more copz u dont spend points on magic items. Oh yeah, and a free 5/6+ ward.. what more could you ask for!!

Blood Dragons are the toughest but Von castiens are what the VC are based on :) but I voted for Blood Dragons.

No no no, Strigoi are the outright killers. You can rely on a Strigoi Count to kill 3 or 4 rank and file critters every close combat round pretty much without fail. Blood Dragons are definitley more suited to taking on characters, most of their bloodline powers being wasted against regular troops. Strigoi all the way for me!

I like the Lahmians, even though they aren't as powerful as the blood dragons the ability to take other army's heroes is a great bonus, such as taking a saurus scar-veteran with the mark of the old ones, or just a chaos hero with some nice additions of his own.

Blood Dragon - for their combat prowess and I love the limited edition standard bearer. Challenges really do it for me, so I can't resist the Bloodline that lives (unlives?) for them, and aaahhh the thought of a Black Knight charge

Necrarch 2nd - for their evilness and mass shambling hordes of zombies. Their army truly looks like a mass of the dead - magic itself is not all that its cracked up to be

Strigoi 3rd - The story/fluff/background of these guys is awesome. I would probably collect Strigoi if I could afford all the metal ghouls ($$$) and paint that deathly/sickly flesh a little better
