Starting Tau-

OK starting Tau is definitely a daunting process what to begin with? I hear you say. Easy, to get to grips with the enemy as fast as possible this would be your
best bet.

Crisis suit – Usually bought as a box set, this model can be used as your leader, with Hi- tech weaponry and Hardwire points, and this model becomes your best.

-Things to arm Crisis (leader at the time) Shas ‘0 or Shas’ el your choice.

Shield Generator
Drone controller + two gun drones
Multi-tracker

These are your best choices. Now it’s the guns, the crisis suit has options for whatever your purpose, Hunting tanks give the suit a Fusion Blaster, facing Space Marines give him the good old Plasma Rifle and finally facing Horde armies?? I hear toasty (The Flamer) What ever the purpose he makes a fine leader and when your army gets bigger (and it certainly will) the model can be as a crisis suit instead of a Shas’O or El.

Ethereal, This model is good if you want the staying power (Re-rolls for failed leadership tests are brilliant) giving a Drone controller and shield drones is a must as well as this model have no save what so ever.

As your only starting I will move onto the Troop choices.

Fire Warriors, These troops are great, 4+ save allows them to stay their ground but both their Ws and Bs leaves little to desire, I don’t know how to fix the Ws but I do know how to make them shoot better. By upgrading one of these into a team leader, he can be given the marker-light which allows you to pick a squad or tank to shoot them at 2’s do this and you will be hitting on 2+ and wounding on 3’s.

Now the Kroot, these nasty aliens are always overlooked as they are not very good at close combat (which they are meant to be good at) but that’s not the reason to having them, the reason to having them as it offers you a heavy support choice and fast attack option, which you cannot field without.

Kroot hounds – I 4 and hits when the enemy falls back.

Krootox – Basically a beast with a massive Kroot hunting gun on it’s back, which the enemy needs to kill the Kroot to get to the massive beast.
Also said by Farsight the Krootox has an advantage of adding to the kroot's combat, being S 6 and 3 attacks who can argue.

I will update as soon as possible

any begginers just ignore this  .

i would just like to clarify a rule with Tombguard321, i believe that markerlights only allow 1 freindly model to hit on 2's (not the whole squad) plz correct me if i'm wrong
