Hey everybody. Seeing as I'm the newest and one of the few members, I doubt this post will be answered for awhile , but hey! Well, I'm the biggest empire fanatic out there. Join me men of the empire!! This is essentially meant for me to get bragging rights for being the first empire poster when this forum gets really really popular =)

Hey! Welcome to the forum!

I agree that this forum has hardly any members. Could you guys help in promoting the forum, maybe advertising a little? Not much, just a little.

Anyways, the only races I know much of are High Elves and Chaos (I'm doing High Elves now and I'll be starting Chaos soon). So I can't really talk about Empire really...

Anyways, I see that you did the little "=)" thing, representing a smiley face. You can actually make a smiley face on the forum, just by clicking on one of the faces to the left of this box where you type! Pretty cool huh?  :ph43r:

I mainly play High Elves, but I've got 2500 pts of empire, so if you want do discuss anything, I'm here for you :)

And for all those wondering: I never use a steam tank and I still win my battles B)

Grimgor Ironhide - April 30, 2003 09:21 PM (GMT)
I've got about 600 points of empire, which I might convert into the cult of ulric.

How the hell does the steam tank work? I've seen it's stats, like 27 wounds with a fighting platform? Repeating handguns? It defintely doesn't fit the mood of like the 14-1500's. Same thing with the gyrocopter, 'cept that it sucks.

I kinda like the crazy invention concept, but I just think it's too expensive, both points and money-wise. And besides, I'd rather spend those 300 points on some troops. My guess is that 300 points of flagellants is a lot better then a steam tank anyway, and I just prefer troops too, because I think they look better on the battlefield B)

Grimgor Ironhide - May 1, 2003 07:00 PM (GMT)
The tank has 27 wounds!! And like 10 toughness and dudes with automatic rifles and stuff. How do you kill it? And its unbreakable.

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 1, 2003 09:03 PM (GMT)
It has special rules to be wounded, and can lose several at once. I believe T 10 was in 5th ed. actually ...
It can also lose wounds if the steam engine malfunctions and such.

It is not unkillable, but it's not easy either since it's a 300 points rare choice. Make the comparison with 30 flagellants: they won't be easy to kill too, they're just less scary because then you see 30 separate models.

And there are no automatic rifles

On this thing called army builder they hand a battle deck with six guys wielding:

Long Rifles
Repeater Handguns
Halberds I think
Flail type thing
Man catchers

or some such thing. But I didn't know about how it loses wounds.

Flagellants are guys with big flails, right?

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 2, 2003 12:10 PM (GMT)
The fighting platform is a special upgrade which makes the tank lose some wounds, and there is only one of each weapon on the platform...

The flagellants are, indeed, the guys with the big flails. The unbreakable guys with the big flails

Takeru - May 5, 2003 05:52 PM (GMT)
crazy flaagelants, flails are the thing thst makes you attack last and gives you +2 strength on first turn right?

Maelduin ab Sardis - May 6, 2003 07:29 AM (GMT)
You don't attack last, the +2 str. is only for the first turn, and yes they're crazy :)
