Title: Slaanesh, Tzeentch or Undivided?
Description: Which should I play... and why?

Moonshadow - May 3, 2003 08:07 PM (GMT)
Which type of Chaos should I play? Tzeentch, Slaanesh or Undivided? And why? I'm sort of leaning towards starting with Tzeentch and then getting an Undivided Lord and get a few Slaanesh things. Do you think that sounds good?

Drauthnir - May 3, 2003 08:54 PM (GMT)
That's the great thing about undivided, you can get any mix you want! I'm not sure about the mixing limitations, as I don't have the book. I do know that you can mix as long as your general is undivided though. Have fun!

Slaanesh would get my vote, mainly for fluff reasons, + tzeentch armies are boring with their magic.
And I've always had a problem with undivided, mainly because the chaos gods pretty much hate each other.

I really like Slaanesh, there's a whole Warhammer celebrity feel about the army *A Lord and his loyal groupies :D ) I really like the fluff, but failing that Undivided is definitely a good choice. Personally I rate Tzeentch right down their with Khorne

They hate each other? Why? I'd think that Tzeentch and Slaanesh wouldn't have anything against each other. I knew that Tzeentch and Khorne didn't like each other because of magic reasons, but I can't see any reason for Tzeentch and Slaanesh not to like each other.

i put tzeentch beacause, dude, he has the coolest models!

Khrangar - May 4, 2003 04:46 PM (GMT)
I would have to say to go with an Undivided army. That way you can get any of the other units. Like chosen knights of khorne and daemonettes in the same army. It is also very versitile because of this. Also, you could always lean towards one of the gods more than the others but still do undivided. Alternatively I would have to say to go with a Slaanesh army as they have the cheapest god marks and they will never flee, unless broken, because they are Immune to Psychology.

dude, slaanesh looks dumb, undivided is just not cool, play lord of change demons!

Ghanacc - May 4, 2003 04:49 PM (GMT)
Heheh...such a decisive crowd. (2 votes for each) In any case, Tzeentch is real cool. He has one of the best spell lists in the game (IMO, if you disagree than read my post about Tzeentchian magic) and potentially so many power dice... Also the models are awesome. I just got a shipment of horrors and screamers in a few days ago, and am having more fun painting them than i have anything else. So much, actually, that I based these (!) and went to the trouble of pinning one of them (another first).

You've got two votes for each at the time of my posting this, so it looks like it comes down to your preference in playing style, colours, and/or models. Why not post army lists (for each allignment) on this forum and get advice that way? You could pick the list you like better and go with that.

Moonshadow - May 4, 2003 04:57 PM (GMT)
I could post an army list, but the thing is that I don't have the full version of Army Builder. If I did, I'd definitely post a full list. I'd post one for Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Undivided. I'm most likely to do this: I'll get about 1,000 points of Tzeentch, 1,000 points of Slaanesh, and then a Chaos Lord, and take away some points from Tzeentch and Slaanesh to make that even. How does that sound?

All the Chaos gods hate each other, some of them just hate each other a bit more, because they are diametrically opposed to each other.

If you would like Moonshadow, you could email me at my email address iamghaud2@hotmail.com and I would be more than happy to help you creating 3 armies for each of the Gods that you are thinking to follow. I have the book and all so I could help if you would like.

go khorne, I assume you've bene playing high elves, a khorne army woudl be anice change, I often wonder what its like to play power demons...

Moonshadow - May 4, 2003 11:48 PM (GMT)
Yes, but they have no magic and I just don't like them as much as Slaanesh or Tzeentch.

Since you play High Elves, I'll somewhat safely assume you have quite a bit of magic in your army. Tzeentch presents you with similar themes as a High Elf Army (A small elite force with potent magic). IMO the reason for having two armies is to have forces that are very different. I'd rule Tzeentch out because you're going to have pretty much, the same sort of game as you do with a High Elf Army (Missile troops not withstanding.). Go for something a little different!

Tzeentch all the way! May the Lord of Change light your way.

Vriishnak the Twisted - May 17, 2003 01:12 AM (GMT)
I've got a small Slaanesh army, and I've gotta say it works amazingly well. The Lore of Pleasure and Pain is easily the one with the most imfluence on the outcome of the game, with every spell a potential influence. The Mark isn't great, but some of the items are, and you get to use Daemonettes! I'm not a fan of Undivided; it just seems like the way to overpower your army and not have to deal with any of the limitations of the individual Gods.
