Play Station 1.
Best games, best look, best graphics, Final Fantasy.
Sorted!
Of Doom - July 25, 2004 01:01 AM (GMT)
Even tho I never owned one, I'd go with PS1. N64 was just plain not powerful enough. SSB lagged. That all I remember.

N64. As OD said, it was a bit laggy, but Banjo Kazooie was on it, it was the first 3-D Zelda console, it started the Super Smash Greatness...
Link_x - July 25, 2004 07:26 PM (GMT)
Smash Brothers........They should die.
Of Doom - July 26, 2004 01:49 AM (GMT)
Why? The first was pretty bad, but the new one is fun. Also, I think that Banjo Kazooie wasn't a very good game (despite the fact that I named my pet bird "Kazooie"). :charmed: LOZ: OOT was pretty good though.

Smash Brother's has been on for too long. It's just so out dated.
The first game's for the original Nintendo were really good, but now there getting old.
Toanuvafreak123 - July 26, 2004 06:26 PM (GMT)
I think Banjo-Tooie was better, it was at that point where they actually were making good games for that system. And why is Nintendo getting old? I think they've just started their true greatness with the GCN, and all the great sequels coming out. I think Paper Mario was the best RPG excluding Pokemon and Zelda, which killify the compitition, and Paper Mario 2 looks great. And SSBM isn't old. It's 3 years old, but it still is the best multiplayer for the Nintendo Consoles, and possibly any system. SSB3 will probably be better, especially if it comes out on the N5. And don't leave out the possibility of a SSBDS. Oh, and SSB is no older then Playstation, so you're saying it's outdated as well?
Link_x - July 30, 2004 12:22 PM (GMT)
Nope.
But Nintendo started off as one of the first console's originally, and is still going today.
I wouldnt mind so much if they produced different game's, but they just bring the same stuff out, only sequels.
And basiclly with the same stuff, they disperately need to think of something new o.O Or just end there console.
Toanuvafreak123 - July 30, 2004 11:02 PM (GMT)
Well, I agree. Mario has been out a long time, but Pikmin is new and cool, although Originally Olimar was almost an anagram of Mario, and now his assistant in Pikmin 2 is an almost-anagram of Luigi! :P I agree there have been quite a few sequels, to name a few:
Donkey Konga
Pikmin 2
Paper Mario 2
Metroid Prime 2
But some are new, although I can't think of any... :P I know what some are, but I can't think of the games. OH YEAH! Wario Ware Inc.! YAY!
And some just creepy...
Barbie's Fashion Disaster
Ham-Ham Huggy Fest
Mary-Kate and Ashley's Flirtomatic, find a "Hot Boy".
Ok, creepy isn't serious enough for those... *shudders*
And speaking of sequels being garbage, wasn't the "Gwate Final Fantisy" name of a seiries with about SEVEN sequels?

The PS1 doesn't have better graphics than the N64... Doesn't it have 32-bit graphics? As far as I remember the N64 has 64-bit graphics and I thought it had more power. I could be wrong though. And Super Smash Bros. (the original) never lagged for me and I never found it a bad game. Adittedly there weren't that many options to play with but it was an addictive fighting game which was the first of it's kind, and I really like it (although SSBM now blows it away ^_^;;). And SSBM came out on May 24th 2002 (I remember these things) so in my opinion it isn't an old game, really. Even if I did consider it an old game, how does that take anything away from the fact that it's easy to come back to and play? There are so many modes and characters and other various things that I'm always coming back, and frankly I don't see what's so bad about it. O_o
I also think that Banjo Kazooie was an excellent game. It was my favourite platformer game for the N64 because of its humour and daft plot. It never took itself too seriously and it was a lot of fun to play and complete, IMO, and I still go back to it to play sometimes. It's a bright and attractive game with silly tunes but it's so easy to play, to easy to get absorbed into, and it's so easy to like all the characters. I love it. Plus, Saying Ocarina of Time is 'good' is an understatement. It's an extremely absorbing game with a great plot and plus it took ages to complete because Nintendo spent so long making it. Truly magical game IMO, and maybe it's just me who's seeing 'The Nintendo Difference' as people say.
And I'm failing to see how a game isn't playable just because it's a few years old. That doesn't make a difference to how good the game is and how enjoyable you find it - Sure, once you've completed it and done everything you want to do then you may not go back to it, but that doesn't make it a bad game if you remember how much you liked playing it. Playability is not the only thing that makes a game good - I play Mario Party 5 more than I play Mario Sunshine, but I don't think it's a better game; far from it. Mario Sunshine is fantastic, and just because it isn't a huge leap from Mario 64 that doesn't make it bad. I don't see why people constantly need different sorts of games. If a game is fun to play, or absorbs you, or whatever, doesn't that make it good? It doesn't have to be original. And sure, if you want to go for something new then go ahead, but I don't see why you should diss perfectly good games just because they don't offer anything new.
Alo, just becuase there are quite a lot of sequels on Nintendo systems it isn't a reason to complain. Metroid Prime was a fabulous game so Retro Studios want to make a sequel to it because the original was so good. And the public are happy about that. It's notso good when you get sequels which aren't actually very good, but that's a different story. =P A lot of people like sequels and some games, like Pikmin, were so obviously in need of a sequel. And it came!
What I'm trying to say is that Nintendo don't just bring out 'unoriginal' games or sequels. There's Viewtiful Joe, and although that was out on other consoles, it's an original game. That's also stating why nintendo need 3rd party support, in a way, because it seems to keep the casual gamer happy. Nintendo bring out brilliant games; and just because they may not be especially different or anything, they're still great games. And if they still have a big enough stance in the public eye, they'll keep going, like they have for so many years.
*stops rambling* ^_^;;
Oh, and if you hadn't guessed, my favourite console of that period of time is the N64, because I like a lot of the games it has. ^^ I just always found the games appealed to me more than PS1 games did, even if they were more expensive. X_x
Of Doom - August 10, 2004 01:09 PM (GMT)
An N64 nowadays is like 25 bucks. And game for it is 2.
I guess you're right though. My SSB lagged on a 4P FFA. Still, SSB is a bit unbalanced. I could run around winning matches hitting down+B, down+b, down+b all the time with pikachu.

The sound wasn't nearly as good as SSBM , though.
"PAKAWW! PAKAWW!" I personally think that the N64 was good, but since it was Nintendo's first step into 3-D, it didn't have a great many of great games. (Like Banjo-Kazoo/Tooie and OoT). I think a Super Nes is worth getting now, for 3 of my reasons: Kirby: Superstar (Better then 64 and Air Ride for sure... Well, exept for one bit of 64. The double powers ruled), Super Metroid, and Super Mario Rippeg. (RPG)
Ivan Rever - August 23, 2004 01:02 PM (GMT)
Back whenever. Ocarina of Time from the Zelda series had the best graphics I had ever known. But now I play Gamecube, and I tried to play Master's Quest, but I couldn't bare the pain it brought to my eyes. The Princess is balding! People are hexes! Ha ha. Nonetheless, it was my favourite system back then... er... back then.
Chwoka - August 23, 2004 03:42 PM (GMT)
I have PS2 for me.You can play the PS1 games, DVDs (Although I haven't figurd out how...)and it has more power and cel shading AND 3d.But it's the only one I have...

They were already pretty good.
Toanuvafreak123 - October 16, 2004 03:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah... the GBA is more practical. I'd be uber-happy if they rerealeased all of them.
Darkness Wolf - October 16, 2004 09:25 PM (GMT)
Now that's an idea right there! I know they rereleased one of the Kirby games for the GBA...Umm, it was for the NES...(bleep), I can't remember the title...
But, they should rerelease the Super NES games
