Title: PS3 V XBOX 360
Dragoonus - July 16, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
PS3
6 USB ports, upto 7 wireless controls through Bluetooth (wouldn't 8 make more sense?). I think PSPs can be stuck in somewhere too! Wi-fi online gaming... thats wireless btw folks.
Apparently its twice as powerful as the XBOX 360, Microsoft of course deny this.
Powered by 'the cell' It runs 35 times faster then the current PS chip, developed by IBM, Sony and Toshiba.
NVidia RSX graphics processor.
Of course they've made it backwards compatible with both PS and PS2 games, but then we expected nothing less did we? DVDs and CDs of course are also going to be compatible.
But its also compatable with burned ones, and that new fangled CD... SA-CD?
They've also gone for a new disc type, rather then DVD, they've decided upon Blu-ray (never heard of it) which holds a massive 50GBs! And from what I hear theres also a space for a detachable 2.5inch hard drive, *hopes this comes as standard*.
It just doesn't look that great IMO, the logo for instance... doesn't it remind you of the spiderman logo? The rest of it is a little basic, you could say the PS2 was, but that had style!
XBOX 360
They are scrapping the old gamertags and going for a gamecard, this will list your major achievements, how good you're playing and various other little odds and ends... why? Iono, hope you can make it private though! Online play of course costs, but you can still go online to create a gamecard, voice chat, download levels, trailers, themed skins and other goodies.
Although the XBOX 360 isn't the prettiest thing I've seen one awesome aspect is removeable fascias, you can also customise the software/firmware with skins.
Microsoft are also going online crazy, they've stated that every single game will have some sort of online content, downloadable levels, cars, characters and lots of other gubbings! Theres also something about their online worlds evolving, not wuite sure what this means, maybe its just they keep changing.
The kewlest XBOX 360 feature IMO:
Economy! Anything you create can be sold online, cars for isntance. And its for real money too, heh, games suddenly become mucho more expensive... but its optionable of course, who knows, it could make you some money! You can slo plug your MP3 player in the front and play Perfect Dark Zero to Slipknot, the Spice Girls, The Three Tennors, or anyone who takes your fancy!
Hopefully it'll be backwards compatible too!
Not sure on the format of the games.
Information collected from magazines.
So, which do you think shall be the greatest?

PS3 is better than the X-Box 360 because of Blu-Ray and free online, and the hard drive. (My brother said X-Box 360 isn't going to have a hard drive).
But they'll both be too much money for me probably, so I'm getting a Nintendo Revolution...
daclassicgamingmaster - July 16, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
yeah the blu ray technology will be the 360's weak point. a MAJOR weakpoint
Toanuvafreak123 - July 16, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
The PS3 will OWN the XBox 360. Techiwise, the uber-sp ports and the sniffly-doodle cartrages, and normal people wise, because it doubles as a grill.
Lavo - July 17, 2005 02:14 AM (GMT)
The PS3 PWNs the XBox 360. But I'm going to get the Nintendo Rev.
daclassicgamingmaster - July 17, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
im getting a rev and a ps3. my 2 fav video game manufacturers :D
EternalWolf - July 17, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
Hey guys , havn't posted in a while. Busy with Square.
Anyway, In my opinion, the PS3 will surpass both the revolution and the xb360.
Both compantibility and online wise.
Plus you Final Fantasy fans shouldn't forget the famous, and soon to be released, Final Fantasy Advent Children.
BTW, FFAC uses the PS3 technology to produce the movie.
The release date was supposed to be released on the 13-14 of September, 2005.
But, because of technical DVD and PSP format problems, it will be delayed about 1-2 weeks.
AS for the internet conection. You could use the 'Wireless IR', 'Direct to computer', or to a cable/dsl modem.
I would recommend you use the IR unless your out of range of a wireless tower (cell phone tower or LAN tower).
As for more info on the FFAC movie, directed by Tetsuya Nomura himself, (character and enemy designer for SquareEnix) can be found at our site:

Pff. Who can deny Free Online Gaming, Ability to download classics (Such as SMB3, the best-selling game ever, or SMRPG, which is thought by many to be the best game in the world), and the very prospect of an Online SSB tornament? An idiot, that's who.
EternalWolf - July 17, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
Hey!
Nintendo Rev will also do good. Excellent actually.
But the PS3 will take the cake.
till, you can look forward to many games, new and old from the "rev".
I will buy the PS3 and Nintendo Rev.
But, buying an XBox 360 is just a waste of money.
(No offence on Microsoft's side...) {... just incase their watching.. they always are.. lol}
Lavo - July 17, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
They have camaras and people everywere... *shot*
daclassicgamingmaster - July 17, 2005 05:15 AM (GMT)
eternal wolf must be my alter ego or something cuz i couldnt agree more!
as for SMrpg being the best GAME in the world, lets not go there  . It is in my opinion, one of the best RPGs of all time
Koopaking - July 17, 2005 08:05 AM (GMT)
Best RPG, not game TNF. But it is good.
now then... I could care less about ps3 or 360. I'm getting the rev hands down. It's cheaper, bla bla bla. But PS3 kicks 360's nevermind. XD
Dragoonus - July 17, 2005 01:40 PM (GMT)
The nintendo Rev sounds pretty good, and IMO looks the best outta of the three... although they have said the design may change before release.
As for FFAV, didn't realise it was on PS3 tech! Awesome! I'm uberly looking forward to FFAC, problem is there is no Europe release date, so I'mma have to import from the US, but I'll deffo be getting the Ultimate Set with the Fenrir bike figurine and such!
I'll prolly get the PS3, atm I have PS2 and GC, but I'm just a little scared the Rev will have a load of young games, the only reason I have the GC is for Skies of Arcadia and FFCC, (plus a few other RPGs).
Hopefully the Rev will come with more older games, the GC has these, but as well all know it was definately aimed at children.
Time will tell, but I'll stay loyal to the PS while ever Sqaure are releasing FF games! (heh, its the only reason I bought both my PS2 and GC.... for FF!)

yeah the cube has a lot of kiddy games, and as a teen i prefer a bit blood and gore from time to time. RE4 was amazing, and showed off the cube's capabilities. Dont get me wrong, cube has some good games, but i need some variety in my life, so it'd be nice to mix things up from time to time. That's why I love my ps2 over the cube. The game library is both extensive and deversified :charmed:
Lavo - July 17, 2005 02:45 PM (GMT)
Altough this contest IS mainly about the Rev. vs. the PS3, most people are going to get the PS3 at first. But if the Rev. is as good as it sounds, it may be a close call.
daclassicgamingmaster - July 17, 2005 02:47 PM (GMT)
im a fan of both sony and nintendo, but im gonna have to say the ps3 will win this battle. thats my opinion. we should all bet for the fun of it.
Korean Richie - July 17, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
I agree the PS3 looks awfully good.
Dragoonus - July 17, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
How do feel about the aesthetics of the machines though? I think the PS3 looks bland and the controllers look a little cheap and tacky IMO.
The 360 looks bland also, but that customisable.
The Rev definately looks the best, although I can't say that the silver/grey stand works with the black box!
The 360 is too concerned with the online market, this is all well and good, but I think they have gone waaay over the top, every game has something online? Come on! Some people won't be able to complete the game fully as they won't have access to the tinternet!
For online players however, I think the 360 might be pretty kewl, perhaps even better then the PS3 in this respect (no including costs). Its just a shame they aren't paying much attention to the offline players.

MS wont do that. No gaming developer or otherwise will ever hold back the completion of a game due to a service the player must have.
mike_subuzi - July 17, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
I would say THe Ps3 Because that is the one I play games on .

Well they have stated there will be things such as downloadable levels, I don't believe they will be fundamental to the game, however without them you can't say you fully completed a game.
Its like beating the end boss but only doing 67% of a game, sure you completed the story, but you haven't completed the game!
daclassicgamingmaster - July 17, 2005 09:12 PM (GMT)
yeah i know kinda like pokemon u beat the story but u still gotta catch em all!
w/e they wont be fundamental to the game as you said so i really couldnt care less

Rev, IMO, is going to have the best game selection. PS3 will have the most technical stuff, and the 360 will win the prizeded "I'm not quite sure if I'm the first system in a new box or what" award.
