HellBlaze - May 29, 2005 05:13 PM (GMT)
The Xbox and ps2 owned da gamecube and its hard to say who won da ultimate battle but nex season with da ps3, xbox 360 and da nintendo revolution it should be a tasty battle, personally i think sony is going to win it as dey hav the psp and the ps3 but nintendo will be up in there with the ds and the nintendo rev, theres also rumours about xbox bringing out a new handheld called da "micro piece", i dont know about u but the nex generation is going to be a very interesting battle.

U hav Jus Been Given The "Low Down"

daclassicgamingmaster - May 30, 2005 12:18 AM (GMT)
u need to be more specific when u say the box and ps2 owned teh cube, cuz in terms of specs (graphics mainly), the cube out weighed the ps2. That's a fact

Lavo - May 30, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
Also the "micro piece" is the Game Boy Micro. I know these things.

daclassicgamingmaster - May 30, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
um, yeah. it's all over the net. ill post an image in an hour or so

lol oh well. mine's better :P :P j/k

anyway, here's the supposed specs::

* Launch is slated for this Fall.
* Silver in color for now, expect all sorts of rainbow-flavored variations.
* Dimensions: 4 inches wide by 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches thick.
* Weight: 2.8 ounces (80 paper clips’ worth of weight).
* Processor: Same as GBA SP.
* Form factor: “Gleaming shoulder and start/select buttons that literally shine”, removable and customizable face plate.
* Screen: 2-inches, backlit and the “best Game Boy screen ever” with adjustable brightness controls for use indoors or outdoors.
* Marketing angle: “We’re making the gorgeous Game Boy Micro for image-conscious folks who love video games, the ones who want the look of their system to be as cool as the games they play on it” according to George Harrison, Nintendo of America Sr. VP of marketing. It’s clear that they’re going after the kids who are too cool to carry around an obvious gaming device but who don’t mind carrying something that looks like the cell phone that they’re already carrying.
* Accessories: built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery; supports standard headphones.
* Software: the Game Boy Advance has nearly 700 titles available, all of which will be playable on the Game Boy Micro.

Seriously. Get a grammer book and start reading it, punk. This is a forum, not a chat room. No one here really cares about what's better, we just care about games! Plus, advertising in your sig is against the rules. You have to have 5 posts that aren't ads or spam, and the ad has to go IN THE SPAM FORUM.

Anyway, this is just a pointless topic, considering we've already covered the fact that Nintendo PWNs all (Exceptionally Sony, who rocks almost as hard), and that there is already an E3 topic that explains everything. (Except the Game Boy Micro, that looks Spiffy, PWNing, and TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

BTW, people who are "XBox fans" are begining to dislike it, for one it's coming out with its stuff too early which kills suspension, and two, the games are getting lamer and lamer. The fans are deciding to leave their 3 year liking of the XBox and start gogin towards Nintendos' and Sonys' products. *Coughposerscough* SO HA!!!

You know what, I bet you didn't even read all that, n00b.

A: nintendo doesntpwn all, its a fact that ds is failing now against the psp, and cube failed light years ago when they dropped th price down to 5.00 for a new cube

b: SON, u must be STUPID. Micro looks AWFUL! What's special about it?? NOTHING

I could care less. I'm not planning on buying any of the Next-Gen systems until Halo 3 is out.

And which Xbox owners are going towards new consoles? A lot of the people I know bought a GameCube, then decided to buy an Xbox too, now they play exclusively online with the Xbox.

If the Nintendo Revolution isn't going to use online capability, you find many of them popping up at garage sales after the kids who bought them have beaten all of the games they bought.

As for the PS3, it looks pretty nice. The graphics are beatiful, and so are the specs. However, I'd never consider buying one, mainly because I'd be embarassed to be seen with one of those controllers. And you can't even chuck it when you're angry, because it'll swing right back and smack you in face.

Of course, the fans drooling over the PS3 might get lucky and Sony will "subject it to change without notice." Still, I'm not impressed. At least the system itself seems a little interesting.

On the other hand, after seeing the Nintendo Revolution, I'm pretty impressed. It appears Nintendo does have an eye for style. If I were to buy one, it'd look fine between my Xbox and my GameCube on my video game shelf. I haven't seen the controller, but I'm sure it looks equally cool. No complaints here. I am confused by the sideways disk drive, but meh. That's not really a problem. I'm sure it works fine.

At last, I come to Xbox 360. Here you would expect me to blindly praise every aspect of it. No way. The system itself had me going 'What the heck?' for a little while. Though I'm pretty sure the new PS2 does it, but I haven't really worked out how a sideways disk drive would work, like the Revolution. I don't see 4 controller ports, but there's obviously a way to do it. I heard somewhere that it'll have wireless controllers. I hope they aren't as bad as the Xbox wireless controllers (Imagine trying to walk backwards, eyes closed, on your hands, a lap around your house. Now imagine you're being chased by a normal person with a gun. Have fun.) The design of the system is weird, but acceptable. The controllers are a bit strange, but I'm glad they moved the awkward side buttons to the middle. The graphics and specs are great. It also seems you'll be able to customize the look of the system, but I'll probably just get something from GameConsoleSkins.com again. (Link posted on this forum once. :P They actually made $50 off of me.) I've heard rumors that you'll have to pay extra for the hard drive, which I don't like at all. The hard drive was one of the things that made the original Xbox different from all the other systems on the market. I've had my Xbox for over a year, and I still haven't made a dent in my hard drive space. Finally, here's the picture:

Also, I little observation I made about E3. After close observation of the booths, one finds that they were rarely actually using the next-gen systems for the demos. For example, one of the kiosks was being run by several PowerMac G5s. Ha! (You could probably find an article about this if you looked hard enough.)

Also, I am merely stating my opinion. I'm not trying to egg you on into being angry because I said something bad about your system of choice. I've never liked discussing the consoles much, because they often degrade into flame wars. And someone here who disagrees with my opinions will probably decide I'm better off flamed.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who read through my whole rant and actually understood it. ;)

I don't like XBox. I think it's over-rated. Halo is the only thing that saved it. I would get an XBox for cheap, like off of eBay. But, Halo 2 was SO overhyped. But, I think it's Microsoft's own fault. They tried to make it sound so big and bad, I think, and when it was released, it was something of a disappointment. I don't know, I don't own an XBox nor have I played Halo. I'm just going off of what I heard. But, I'm would never buy an XBox full price; it's just not worth it. I honestly think the XBox 360 may do alright for a little while, but that, too, will die off.

But, I also think some of my distaste is because it's from Microsoft, whom I'm not fond of.

PS2, well, it's okay. They have some good ones, and some bad ones. I like PS2, but I do hope the PS3 can do a bit better.

Same with GameCube. Yeah, I'm a Nintendo veteran, and I'll always like Nintendo. But, I do think they could use a little more. They should broaden themselves a bit more. And, I think an online connection can help them out.

Also, this had BETTER not turn into a flame topic! I am NOT in the mood to put up with flaming, especially if it's as stupid as about game systems.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 04:08 PM (GMT)
OD, how can you have like 5 paragraphics and shiney pics of the PS3 and Xbox 360 yet not even look at Nintendo's homepage which yells out at you: THE REV HAS ONLINE PLAY OUT OF THE BOX!

Oh, yeah, OD. Once people don't have the ability to play all over the world and have beat the 1-player games, they just chuck the game systems. That's why no one plays Super Smash Bros. Melee anymore, and why TLOZ: Twilight Princess is gonna suck so bad. Multiplayer is worthless if you play it with REAL LIFE friends, and no one ever replays RPGs or adventure games. You have a real point.

I remember the GameCube had online capability too. Was it ever used? No.

Anyway, here's the shiney picture you want so badly.

Anyway, great news about the online play for the Revolution. Looks like Nintendo finally noticed that online play is good.

Also, SSBM is mainly a multiplayer game, so of course you're going to play it with friends. And adventure/RPG games often get on my nerves. They make you go all over the place, replaying the same territory to "collect the 12 crystals" and then you have to "collect the 43 pieces of the broken sword" and after that you "use the sword to collect the 412.9 widget thingies." Then you get some ending cinematic. And you sit there having used hours upon hours of your life collecting trinkets so that you can tell your friends what the ending cinematic is, and then there's no point in buying the game for them. They're like "Oh. Okay." And they download it illegally off some ROM site and play halfway through it then get bored. But that's just my opinion. Maybe people like journeying across the lands, killing bosses, and collecting trinkets so that they can go collect more trinkets which allow them to collect more trinkets which lets them fight a boss that you must shoot in the head when he stops to breath or something like that.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 09:36 PM (GMT)
Oh, I know SO many ways Wolf is gonna kill you for that. Yeah, I guess Metroid Prime SUCKS because there's no flashy majik 500000 levels that aren't connected in any way like HaCraplo

Lavo - May 31, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
Tnf, can you please stop flaming. It's getting annoying.

Of Doom - May 31, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
The heck? I'm glad it doesn't have 50000 levels. (And Halo 2 has 13-14. I forget.) Metroid is an exception because I like Metroid.

Why do you always assume I hate you and whatever you like or something? I don't have any sort of personal vendetta against you. You shouldn't need to post counterattacks to all my posts because they were never attacks in the first place.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
Look, you CAN NOT diss Zelda and Mario in my presence. You simply cannot. And the only reason OD likes Metroid is because Samus is hot. Seriously.

Lavo - May 31, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
This really getting out of hand. Both of you stop.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
You're right, Lavo... I just get really ticked when great games are dissed.

Lavo - May 31, 2005 09:53 PM (GMT)
For once not only are you right Tnf, but your sane.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 09:53 PM (GMT)
For ONCE? What's that supposed to mean? XD

Lavo - May 31, 2005 09:55 PM (GMT)
You do werid stuff alot.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
Or do I?

Seriously though, all biasism aside, I think Revolution may not win the next gen race, but I know it'll be the best to me.

Lavo - May 31, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
Yup sad, but true.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
I have a real weakness for innovation. I mean, that's why I love Pikmin and hate Halo. Halo's just another FPS, while Pikmin is... Well, what other game has a spaceman throwing little aliens at treasures to repay debt? Pikmin 2 especially, I like how trash and stuff is so cool to tiny men from Hocotate.

Of Doom - May 31, 2005 10:02 PM (GMT)
Actually, I like to play the Metroid games. I don't have the patience to play to the "special" endings.

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
What's so different about the Metroid games then other games?

Lavo - May 31, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
Tnf, you already said it. (It's about Samus). XD

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 10:06 PM (GMT)
BTW, OD told me in a PM he just lets Crimson Sheild beat the Metroid games for him, then he stares at the gallery and doesn't play it any more. Now, you see, with me, I EARN my drool. :P

Lavo - May 31, 2005 10:07 PM (GMT)

Toanuvafreak123 - May 31, 2005 10:08 PM (GMT)
