Title: Well, the PSP's out.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 24, 2005 03:18 PM (GMT)
I guess the PSP's out. I'll try to do an unbiased Pro/con list of both the DS and the PSP.
DS:
Pros:
2 Screens
Microphone
Touch Screen
Has all your favorite Nintendo Characters
Great Battery life
Plays all GBA games
By the Company you've known to make great handhelds
Cons:
Can't play GBC games
Can't link up with Gamecube
Can't link up with Gameboy Advance
Cards are small, if you don't always have them in a carrying case, you could crush them.
Touch screen can be unweildy at times.
PSP:
Pros:
Has great graphics, same as PS2
Plays games from either PS1 or 2, not positive which.
Can play movies.
Can play MP3s.
Can do a veriaty of non-game related things, like shave your back, fly around with a mini-jetpack, enlarge itself up to 10 times it's normal size, etc.
Big screen
Cons:
Basicly a Gameboy with better graphics. (You could play movies and MP3s and stuff on the Gameboy, too, if you had the right things.)
Not very innovative. Sure, it's a blender, it irons your underwear while you play, but what about the games?
When watching a movie with the sound up, Battery lasts 2 hours. I know several movies that are longer then that.
100 Simoleons more then the DS
You decide which is better. Basicly,
DS: 149.99, Two Screens, Pretty Good Graphics, Innovativity.
PSP: 249.99, Big Screen, Great Graphics, Mows the Lawn.
Korean Richie - March 24, 2005 03:43 PM (GMT)
I go for the psp, also there's an awesome movie called final fantasy advent children comming up which looked awesome.
Lavo - March 24, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
PS (1, 2, P), is bad. The only good thing is the graphics, and the extra stuff that's why it sells. DS (all Nintendo), doesn't have the best graphics, but original, good plot, and many types of games. Also for PSP, there charging $100 for the extras! The things gamers don't need!
Toanuvafreak123 - March 24, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
I agree with you on most points, Lavo. I, however, find nothing wrong with either PS. They don't overcharge you for craptacular completely un-gamerelated junk. (Hey, I was unbiased in the review. Anything goes now.)
Of Doom - March 24, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
I don't like either. The PSP is $250, and it's nothing special.
The D.S. is nothing special either, but it's only $150. So I guess the D.S. has better value.
Lavo - March 24, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
Tnf, what I mean is they charge too much for extras for "bad". (DVD).

Pff, you're right. All those other systems with Two Screens, one of which allowing touching, and mics were good, but that's just a ripoff of the others. And Lavo, the PS2 isn't really that expensive... It's the same amount as the GCN, which has slightly better graphics, but that's about it. And the DVD player is optional, y'know.
Darkness Wolf - March 24, 2005 10:06 PM (GMT)
All I have to say is...
A game system is a game system. I'll buy it, and play it.
I have nothing more to say.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 24, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
Call me crazy, but I really don't care what company makes the system. Sure, I'm biased against microsoft, but that's because none of their games intrest me. There's one thing I look for in a game, or game system.
INNOVATIVITY.
I don't care if it brews your coffee while you play. I want something new, never offered from a game before. RPG is my favorite Genre because almost no two RPs are the same. Sure, it's always the same "Find evil villan, kill in uber turn-based style.", but be it save the Princess, Correct people if they're wrong in asking for a challenge, or whatever, it's always different in what you do. Zelda is almost like a fighting game, but there are plenty where you find and capture adorable creatures and turn them into violent fighting machines.
I just find Halo and Halo 2, the "famed games" of Xbox, well, boring. I've played the space-fighta FPS several times. Metroid Prime 2, with powerups, awesome different gameplay, etc. is much more appealing to me. It's like mixing Strategy, RPG, FPS, and action all in one.
w00tage. Phear my ranting.
Lavo - March 25, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
Good job Tnf. You said exactly what I like about Nintendo.
dragon-91 - March 25, 2005 12:54 AM (GMT)
I like halo and Halo2 and microsoft! so booyaa!!!
Lavo - March 25, 2005 01:00 AM (GMT)
D91, that was SPAM you know.

Yup. I go with wolf. Although I like the nintendo products better, I'm not really dising PSP either.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 25, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
D91, I not once said that Microsoft, or either Halo was bad or anything. I simply stated my opinion, and if there's a world you can't do that, well, I'm disgusted. As KK said, I have absolutely nothing wrong with the PSP. I just feel the DS is a better choise, and because of the cons, I'm not going to fork out a quarter-thousand bucks for it.
Lavo - March 25, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
Tnf is correct once again.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 25, 2005 02:06 AM (GMT)
I'm so mature about things. One time a coupla years ago someone thought I was 14. ^_^
Ok, my sudden burst of maturity is probably creeping everyone out.
OMG W00T PWN MEEPLYMEEPLYMEPP!
Lavo - March 25, 2005 02:08 AM (GMT)
And I was looking forward to having 2 mature admins, and that way most lights would disapear. Do the math: Tnf=stupidy of site for lights.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 25, 2005 02:14 AM (GMT)
2 mature admins if I became serious? Uhh... That'd be me... And who? Do you count DW as an admin or something cuz' he's a Smod?
Sky - March 25, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
"Hmm.... Why would i wan't to buy a PSP with the same exact games as my PS2....oh I know why!! now I can play while my fat sony-geek brother is playing his PS2!!!"-Fat sonyfanboy. i don't me to offend anyone, but come on why would you want to buy a handheld that has the same games as a PS2? Do you like travel a lot? or do you just like wasting your money???
Toanuvafreak123 - March 25, 2005 02:24 AM (GMT)
Actually, it's pretty cool to have a handheld that plays games from a major system, be it "TEH SONY SUXXORSTATION" or "OMG ALMIGHTYYYY XBOXXORS!"...
Sky - March 25, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
Not if it only has those games. And if your always in your house what the point?
Toanuvafreak123 - March 25, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
A: It probably won't only have those games.
B: Everyone goes out at least ONCE a week. If you really love a game, why not have it on the go?
C: Your point just makes things like SM64DS worthless...
Sky - March 25, 2005 02:32 AM (GMT)
No SM64DS has new things because of the touch screen and minigames and as a far as i know the PSP games are the exact same games as the PS2 games. PS: you are starting to sound like you are defending the PSP.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 25, 2005 03:42 AM (GMT)
Well, I don't see why it makes a game worse if you play it on a PSP on the go or anything. They'll probably make some PSP only games, too. Oh, and I know it sounds like I'm defending it. I am. While I dislike the system personally, I know for a fact there is absolutly nothing wrong with it.

gameGOD - March 30, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
I personally do not consider the DS as revolutionary. sure it has 2 screens but really that isnt too much of a breakthrough in the handheld market. on the other hand, the PSP has the graphic engine of a PS2, now, thats revolutionary. but in terms of fun games (unless you understand Japanese) for the PS2, the DS has much more. just my 2 cents
Koopaking - March 30, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Hm... I think gameGOD has a point.

Hrm...interesting. I can agree to that. Well met.
Toanuvafreak123 - March 31, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
I really don't think either is particularly revolving. I mean, Graphix r kul but 2 scrns n a toch scrn is good 2!
Jeremysr - March 31, 2005 05:20 AM (GMT)
PSP is way too expensive for me to get, but it looks really cool. i would still rather get the ds if i had a choice of one because ds plays gba games, and has microphone, touch screen, and other new features like that. PSP owners are lucky because it already has online play...and we have to waaaait........
Toanuvafreak123 - March 31, 2005 04:46 PM (GMT)
I still can't wait for ACDS.
Sky - March 31, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
I know Tnf, I am like about to rip my hair out if I have to wait any longer for ACDS.lol.
happyfuntimegirl - April 1, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
Okay, some friends of mine got PSP already. Can I just say it kicks major booty.
It's got bluetooth so they can play against each other, wirelessly. Very nice.
I want one and I heard about this site that gives them away if you sign up for something else, but I'm affraid it's not legit.
Have you guys heard anything about it?
Here is the link by friend gave me...
http://www.FreePSPs.com/?r=16828547Thanks bunches!
Toanuvafreak123 - April 1, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
happyfuntimegirl, Never trust those sites. They say "We'll send you a free *insert something here* by filling out a sponsor survey!" but they mean "Spend twice the money the PSP costs on crappy junk and we'll give you one free- with 249.99 Shipping and Handling."
