Okay, some new people to forum websites have NO clue what they are, so here are the basics:

Whazza avatar?

An avatar is a picture that's near your post, it can be whatever you want it to be... A nintendo character, Bionicle, Digimon, X-Box, whatever... you can even have animated things. Later, when this forum grows big, there SHOULD be avatar SHOPS, where you can ask for them!

What the heck's a siggy?

Lol, a "siggy" is a nickname for "sig", which is a nickname for Signature... As funny as it sounds, it's not a "-Tnf" or a "Yours truly" It's your little spam area. 8) But don't go overboard, this isn't a unlimited gig site. 5 lines and a pic should do it, and the pic shouldn't have more then a good 250-250 or a 468-60. Banners are very common in sigs, they can be about you, have a link to your topics, whatever. In a way, they're like biiiiig avatars! You can also put links in general in your sig, or just have goofy text!

What are those faces and stuff I see in people's posts?

Those are smileys, emoticons, or Emotions. There are plenty of names for em. They are next to your post, and you can click them, or the show all button for PLENTY... you can describe any occasion or feeling with them... like so:

"I WON THE LOTTERY! :w00t: "
"Thanks for the replys! :D "
"Yeah, right  "
"That was MY idea. <_< "
"Who's SLKDSDL:KFJLSDFJ:SDJF? "
"I think I'll go destroy some innocent beings  "
"That's funny! "
"That's so nice of you! :charmed: "
"Sorry, I ate him. :P "
"What link? "
And many more!

What's a "Link"? Isn't he some video game character?

Yes, he is a Nintendo character... a very cool one, in fact, but that's not the link we're talking about... for instance, if you wanted to go to the rules, you'd click an underlined word, like this.
To link, you click the "http://" button above the area you post.
What's a post?

What you're reading right now!

What's "Post count?"

It shows how many posts you have. You get a cool rank every so often!

Can I have a cookie?

That's getting off-topic...

What's SPAM?

Yummy spiced ham! Seriously, it's a
Stupid
Pointless
Annoying
Message!

So don't do it, you'll get in trouble.

Okay, enough with the benifits... how much does it cost?

Um... A thousand a day should be fine... *OD slaps Tnf upside the head* Oh, sorry... this board is absolutly free... there aren't any "Special" options you can get for paying. All the "special" options are from posting a lot. But don't try to spam to get there, you'll regret it.

I gotta go get a cookie. Bye!

'Kay, bye...

Q: Where's my site link?
A: In the spam forum, if you have less then 5 posts and it isn't in CoT.

I cannot streach this enough! If you want ANYONE to go to your site, at least make an effort to keep the link there, which then MAYBE would be used! I know this is in the rules, etc, but people seem to constantly miss it.

Adding to that would be if you put it in SPAM you also have to have 5 posts regardless. If any of you are smart enough, you will read the rules section.

Q:how high does my post count have to be to "upgrade"?
A:i don't have a clue thats why i'm asking!

Jeremysr - March 9, 2005 04:24 AM (GMT)
150 posts to be a senoir member

500 posts to be an elite member

Koopaking - March 9, 2005 10:21 PM (GMT)
Don't forget 1000 being Supreme.

dragon-91 - March 12, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
don't you mean mod is 1000 kk?

Koopaking - March 13, 2005 03:05 AM (GMT)
Uh, no. I'm a "supreme". Look at my title. And you aren'tsupposed to mention things outside of the outside of the You-Know-What Forum. Like the You-Know-What place.

And besides, Admins don't pick a member by their post count, they pick them from their trust of them.

Darkness Wolf - March 13, 2005 03:22 PM (GMT)
Yes. Like I always do in these cases, I use myself as an example. I became a mod only shortly after I joined BGF.

Koopaking - March 13, 2005 04:35 PM (GMT)
See? Plus, he just rescently got 1000 posts, and the other two mods have less than 150 posts. So, that theory is disapproved.

dragon-91 - March 14, 2005 01:33 AM (GMT)
oh...well thats not fair that they just automaticaly become mods.

Darkness Wolf - March 14, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
I don't know about the other two...But I was on a short time. I was asked to mod, and I agreed. Last November, I asked to get promoted, and I was.

dragon-91 - March 14, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
who asked you to mod?

Darkness Wolf - March 14, 2005 01:49 AM (GMT)
It was OD. He PM'd me.

dragon-91 - March 14, 2005 01:54 AM (GMT)
*points atom seperating laser at od's head* MAKE ME MOD OR DIE!!!

Darkness Wolf - March 14, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Remember, he has the power of Banning! Hahaha...

dragon-91 - March 14, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
i was just kidding sheesh

Darkness Wolf - March 14, 2005 02:01 AM (GMT)
I know you were. As was I, well...half-joking, anyways...

Toanuvafreak123 - March 14, 2005 02:50 PM (GMT)
We generally only mod people who have 0% warning...

Koopaking - March 14, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
Heh, that too.

dragon-91 - March 15, 2005 01:15 AM (GMT)
well maybe if i wasn't warned 50 gillion times for the same thing i wouldn't have this much warn

Koopaking - March 15, 2005 02:14 AM (GMT)
Well, maybe if you didn't do the same thing 50 "gillion" times, then you wouldn'thave 50 "gillion" warns.

dragon-91 - March 15, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
i didn't do that thing 50 gillion times, i did it once and i got warned 50 gillion times

Lavo - March 15, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
That's what happens if you do something real bad.

dragon-91 - March 15, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
nope i got warned 50 gillion times for cussing. and i even bleeped it out!!

Koopaking - March 15, 2005 11:34 PM (GMT)
No, you broke the word filter by saying cuss words using the @ and $ signs, and by taking out letters but still making the word sound like it would with the letters in there. You didn't bleep them out at all.

Darkness Wolf - March 15, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
Wasn't there something else you were warned for, also?

I thought there was...(shrugs) Maybe not.

dragon-91 - March 15, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
no just for that.

Darkness Wolf - March 16, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
Well, then. My mistake. Maybe it was someone else...

dragon-91 - March 16, 2005 12:25 AM (GMT)
so...that means anyone can just look at my posts and see my warn? :twitch:

Toanuvafreak123 - March 16, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)
According to the Admin CP, your warnings were:

+1 Impersonating an Admin
+1 Insulting of Admin
+1 Insulting of Admin
-3 Un-Doing Previous warns for personal reasons
+1 Insulting of Admin
+1 Insulting of Admin
-2 Un-Doing Previous warns for personal reasons
+1 Cursing for the fun of it
+1 Bypassing word filter, Flaming
+1 cussing

The first part was because OD originally signed D91 up to essentially tick me off.

Koopaking - March 16, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
Laughs* That's awesome.

Lavo - March 16, 2005 01:31 AM (GMT)
That's a long list.

All staff can. I'm not sure about normal members, they might be able to.

Chwoka - March 16, 2005 03:55 PM (GMT)
We aren't allowed to.

Darkness Wolf - March 16, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
Oh. Then it's staff only. And I think all staff have the ability to increase or decrease the warning level. At least, I know I can.

Koopaking - March 16, 2005 05:33 PM (GMT)
Yup, all staff can... Atleast they should be able to. I'm pretty sure that they can, though.

dragon-91 - March 16, 2005 09:26 PM (GMT)
the cussing ones were the only ones that counted is what i meant

Darkness Wolf - March 16, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
Yeah, appearntly so. But, still. Currently, you're at 60%
