Title: The KN Story:
Description: Storm of Yellow Clouds

Koyana Nuva - November 19, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
The Review Topic is here.

Staring up in the rainy, gray sky, I breathe heavily. Is this how it shall end? Will I be forgotten? Will anybody forgive me for anyting I have commited in heaven?
Dieing won't be so bad, I think to myself. At least there isn't any pain. Not anymore...

The last thing I saw then was a blur. A hand feeling my fore head, and I felt a tear. Yet not my own...

"Doctor Lesren. The patient is conscious. Doctor Lesren." Said a distant voice.
"Well, now we can find out some information." Said a man.

I was a warrior of 13, named Koyana Nuva. I wore a black tank-top, with a yellow long-sleeve shirt underneath. My weapons were those two katana blades in black cases, with silver and yellow ribbons for unecessary decoration. Feh, I just needed something to defend me with. I was never defeated.

At least, not until now.

I sat up... that blinding light hurt my eyes. And the window on a bright sunny day didn't make things any better. Feh, you'd guess that by now they would figure out how to not blind someone.
"Good morning, kid. got in a bit of an accident, huh?" Asked a tall man.
"What?" I replied.
"You fell off the peak and had a hard fall, too."

Fall? I was almost murdered!

I groaned, sat up, and gazed into some faces.
"I am Doctor Lesren." Said the tall man. He had brown hair, and dark green eyes. I saw he wore a white lab coat, with a cobalt blue short-sleeve shirt under it.
Next to him was a nurse, obviously. I must've been in a hospital, with the white coat and a light brown shirt under it, long sleeve. And tan pants. She had a darkish blonde in her hair, with brown eyes that sparkled.
"I am Mrs. Valin." She said simply. "You're lucky this little girl called for help when she found you."
"Who?" I asked weakly.
"This is Kio." She answered. "Say hi, Kio."
I looked to a girl about my size. She had dark blue hair, very dark. Tied into a long ponytail. Her eyes were an alluring shade of deep purple. She wore a dark blue banner over a silver-like shirt. She wore a dark blue knee-long skirt, and finally some white socks in dark blue shoes.

My heart skipped a beat at first sight.

She blushed a little and spoke softly "Hello."
Feh, she was the shy type. Heh, she was cute, though. I smiled back slightly.
"Hey." I replied. Turning toward the nurse, I asked for the way out.
"Hold on," She said. "There are some reasons why you can't leave."
"Yes?"
"One, we don't know your name, your parents, or any of your gaurdians."

Gaurdians? I don't need a gaurdian!

"Why is that important?"
"Because getting treated in a hospital takes money." She replied.
"How much is that?"
"It isn't important to you. Now who are your parents?"

I didn't have parents.

"Um, I ran away from an orphanage." I lied.
"Which orphanage?"

I hate lies.

"Uh... I don't remember."
"They will have to pay for it." She retorted.
"What's the bill?" I asked.
"The treatment is 418 yen."
Poor people. I thought. They never were very rich.
I pulled out 5 dollars and handed her them.
There. Can I leave?
"No. You still need time to heal."
"What?"
"You need to stay here and heal. You can't be cured just like that!"
I climbed out of bed. I looked down to see I wasn't wearing my usual clothes. Intead, I was wearing a very long white shirt. I was barefoot.

Where was my stuff?

I looked to the left to see my clothes on a desk. But where were my swords? I scoured the whole room. Nothing.

I was stuck here, and I wouldn't be getting out anytime soon.

Chapter 2

The Next Day...
I was dressed in my usual clothes again. sighing, I laid in my bed. Feh, there has to be some way to get out of here. I need to get my swords.

Yawning, I decided to do some spare time drawing...

Finishing the eyes, I took a look of progress at the picture. It needed to be better. I never seemed to be staisfied with anything. Thinking about her just inspired me to draw better...

Kio was my only inspiration...

The door opened, and to my surprise, it was her! There she was again, with her dark blue hair... and those relaxing purple eyes.

She smiled and closed the door. Her hair swaying freely as she turned.

"How're you doing tonight?" She asked.

"Feh. I hate it here. There's nothing to do here." I replied scornfully.
When I saw a look of depression in her eyes, my heart sank like that Titanic boat... thing...
"Well, maybe it isn't so bad. At least I get company from time to time. What are you doing out this late?"
"I was just wondering if you were feeling alright." She replied happily.
My heart skipped something, couldn't remember what it was, though.
"The doctor says I'll be out in probably a week."
"Well, that's not so bad."
"Are you kidding? That sucks hard! Do you know how annoying it is to have someone help you on something. I can perfectly walk up the stairs."

I had a photographic memory of nearly having my leg collapse, anyway.

"What are you laughing about?" I asked moodily.
"I can't help it, you're so funny!" She replied, giggling like it was the most hillarious thing in the world.
"Hmph." I retorted and turned over in my bed.

The sketch book fell from the covers and hit the floor.

"What's this?" She asked.
"What?" I asked.
"This is a sketch diary..." she went on curiously.
"Oh, give it back, will you? It's a diary, for crying out loud!"
"This doesn't count!" She teased as she flipped through the pages.
"Kio!"

There was a sudden silence... Kio had found the page...

"Kio... I...I-"
"You... drew me?" She asked disbelievingly.

I tried not to look at the pile of crumpled papers... they were failed attempts.

"I-I still don't think it's good enough..." I replied softly. Sheesh, it's a wonder what can happen to a guy when his drawings are found.
"It-It's beautiful..." She said.

I looked away, trying not to be seen while I was like this.
"Do you have others too?" She asked. Her eyes lighting up.
"Well, about 2 others filled." I replied.
I got out my books, and we began to look...

Chapter 3:

I sat up, yawned, and began a usual, dumb routine.
Sitting down to another breakfest of cold cereal, I wondered when I could get out of here. Stirring the cereal around in the bowl, I ate the last flake.
I walked around to notice I had healed. Smiling happily for a moment, I enjoyed a walk to my room by sneaking past Ms. Valin. Feh, she wasn't going to help me this time!
I looked up the tall cases of stairs. The fifth set led to the hallway my room was at. I set my foot on the first step.
Climbing higher, I knew I could do this! Each step brought more confidence within me. Higher, higher, and higher I went. Determined to go the whole way.
I had reached the fifth floor with hardly any effort. I hurried to my room as fast as the energy had in me. Opening the door, I quickly dressed in my tank-top and sleeves outfit. I had renewed energy as I rushed out the door.

Today, I was free!

Dashing past the nurse, I burst open the doors! Running for my freedom, I crossed the street and toward the edge of town...
I was happily on my way when something in the back of my mind had crossed me.

Kio...

Turning around, I saw Kio walking around the corner. I followed her... and I had a hunch where she was going...
I tried to hurry to her, but I was out of energy. She started moving faster. I picked up my pace, I had to find some way to let her know I wasn't there.

She started running!

Sheesh! I couldn't keep up with her I was so tired. But I couldn't let her get there. Then the stupid nurse would drag me right back in... and the security would just get tighter!
I was at the street across the hospital, and she was already through the doors.
"Kio! Wait!" I called.
But it was too late. If I wanted to find her, I would have to find a sneaky way in, and let her know somehow...
I hurried into the alley, jumped through the window, and found myself in the basement.
"Well, he's here somewhere." I heard Ms. Valin say.
"I can't wait to see him again." Replied Kio.
My jaw dropped and I slapped myself in the forehead. Why do I always get into these things?
I peeked out of the door and rushed up the stairs.

Obviously, they tried the elevator.

Rushing up the stairs with better ease, I jumped up two steps at a time. The door flew right open! I dashed toward my room! I was going to make it! I just had to pass the elevator doors and I'd be free!
I bursted into the room, and hurried into the bathroom.
"Now where could he be?" Asked the nurse.
I thought fast. I had to distract them somehow... Bingo! The shower! I dashed to the valve and turned it quickly. They should have heard the noise by now.
"Oh!" Exclaimed Kio suddenly. "Well, I could wait until later." She said as the door opened.
"Yes. He does need a little time alone right now." Replied Ms. Valin. "Come. We can wait until later." She continued as the door shut.
Whew! That was close! I thought to myself. Well, maybe I need a shower right now.

Later...

I washed my outfit in the sink as best as I could. Nobody could be suspicious about me. I couldn't risk it.
I snuck down the stairs quietly. Conserving as much energy as I could. I had to get out of this place, if I was spotted or not.

Kio and Ms. Valin were talking about something. I couldn't overhear them. Feh, it wasn't my business or interest anyway. I just wanted to leave.
I crawled toward the door. I was just at it. I stood up carefully and quietly...
"Hey!" Kio yelled. "Where are you going?"

Oh, breadcrumbs...

I dashed out of the door. I crossed the street (again!) and whirled around.
Kio was running full speed with a furious expression on her face!
"You're not ready to be out here! You can't heal in just two days!" She yelled.
I whipped around and dashed off in vain, knowing that in the condition I was in, I would never outrun Kio!
