Title: [X]Downloading.....
Sysop - October 8, 2003 12:26 AM (GMT)
Wow, I never thought I'd need to request support at my own board, but I do. OK, when I'm browsing the internet, Safari's download window pops up and says "Downloading "ad.aspx"". Now, I don't want to download whatever this "ad.aspx" thing is, so I say "cancel". Everything's OK now, but then, it happens about 2 minutes later. It's driving me crazy. Anyway, I finally say yes, I'll download this "ad.aspx" thing. But, it never downloads. The bar just keeps spinning, saying "Preparing to download". I don't get it, what is going on? This is really, really, starting to bother me now.....
Thanks,
Sysops

it's an evil plot by Italian hackers to to destroy your computer. See for yourself enter ad.aspx into the google search box, then click on ad.asp.
No really, I don't have a clue what could be wrong. Do you have Safari set to block pop-ups? I tried to replicate your situation but couldn't. Maybe you could try emptying the cache or maybe downloading something else real-- and see what happens. Good luck. Hey- Shut down and try try again

Something to do with Invision. Every time I am on my IF Central Board, I get like 12 of them! very annoying.

@Alan: Yes, I have Safari Set to block pop-ups. I shutdown and tried again, and the same thing happens. Cleared cache. Same thing. Thanks for trying to help me though!!
@James: That's what I was thinking. I'm going to report it.
I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks,

Its part of the new ads, I've already questioned it but got no reply, not sure why it won't D/L on a Mac but I know its some kinda spyware, winblows only most likely.
Just a minor annoyance for us Mac users.

Alright, thanks Duo. I find this current server problem extremely annoying. I may have to set the board offline for a while when I can fix it.

I have found Safari to be very flaky. I've hit many sites that Safari does not play well with. I hate to say it, but I'm still using Explorer until Safari 2.0?.

Welcome to The Mac Forum, Rufus.
I too have found Safari to be "flaky" on some websites, but most are fine. Have you sent a bug report(s)?
