My review on this movie...

Me personally, Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors and whatever he makes tend to be one of the best movies, plus with Johnny Depp it makes a even a greater movie.

But this movie personally maybe one of his best. Originally Sweeney Todd is a broadway show, about a Barber who was arrested by the Lord Judge of London by a false charge just to get the Barbers wife, and after 15 years comes back to seek revenge on the Judge for what he done, under a new name Sweeney Todd (Orignal name of the Barber is Benjermin Barker [SP?])

The music in the movie is very well done, even by Johnny and the rest of the cast, ALL of them are not traditional to sing at all, and even for them to actually sing in a movie for the first time its VERY well done, I even on the hunt for most of the songs (I got some already).

Down side to this well....I cant really think of a down side, you should see the movie for yourself and post here if you point out what you might think might be bad about it.

10/10 for me.

Well, I went and saw it yesterday, and it was amazing. Though, the chick sitting in front of me ruined it a bit-

Pointing out when a music number was about to start
Squealing when there was blood shown (It's Sweeney Todd or christs' sake, blood is a given)
ect.

But still, a very good film. 8/10

I thought it was a great film yes, best performance I think was probably Alan Rickman as the judge. Oh, and I actually didn't find Anthony annoying in the movie version.

Overall though, I still think George Hearn is a better Sweeney than Johnny Depp. Though the movie was still very good, best Tim Burton directed movie I've seen so far.

overall: 9/10.

Swing your razor wide, Sweeney, hold it to the skies, freely flows the blood of those who moralize

I've actually seen the original broadway version of Sweny Todd, so I knew this film wasn't going to suck...besides, Johnny Depp makes any film look good -_^

I saw this about 10 minutes ago, and I liked it, nice singing, beautiful atmosphere, I'd give it a 9/10.

I just got back from Sweeney Todd… what?

I personally found it a great movie, like Sleepy Hallow with singing. I knew from seeing small things here and there of what would be in the movie, but there was about 10 times more blood than I was expecting, guess they rated it correctly in that sense. But yah, excellent performance from Johnny Depp, never knew he could sing like that from watching those pirate movies, an intriguing plot that can really draw you in, and can’t forget how well the songs were.

However, even though it was good and all, there is no way I can accurately rate it in numbers, so I won’t even try. I will however say this; If you haven’t seen it yet and don’t mind spurting blood, I highly recommend seeing this movie in the time it has left in theaters or when it comes out on video.
