I'm not really sure I want a live action Akira, as the anime scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. Maybe it was because of giant walking bears or Akira suddenly turning into a fleshy mass, but whatever the case, I stayed away from that anime...

Ya, I see what you mean. I once went to my cousin's house and it was playing Akira, I was, what, 7. Anyway, I watch 6 minutes of it and can't sleep for a week.
And I watched the most calm parts, mind you.

I just saw that movie last night. I'm somewhat indifferent on the subject of a live action movie of it, as I've really had enough with various movies that i can't make sense of leaving huge penetration holes in my mind from their ridiculously large cocks ;-;
