Title: Meet the Spartans
Description: The Verdict?

Kaliback - January 26, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
FAIL. Pure and Simple

Hate to break it but like the last parody movie, all the initial good jokes were used up for the commercials. I won't spoil any of the other surprises but in honesty, it was SO not worth the $10 for the ticket, bleh...

Wolf - January 26, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
$10? That's gotta be a ripoff for something like Meet the Spartans.

Everybody probably knows how I feel about the movie, so, no need to repeat it again.

Aangler2542 - January 27, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
Everytime I see ads for this, I'm torn. There are parts that look funny, and parts that look fucking stupid.

...I'd feel ripped off paying 10$ for nearly any movie.

-Maybe not Pan's Labyrinth, hell might pay more for that.

The only movie theater I know that charges less than $10 are where people pick fights with you when you're leaving. :<

It's a good thing me and all my friends sneaked in after watching Rambo.

The movie was a complete opposite of what 300 stood for. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against homosexuals, and I know irony can play a part in a parody, but how it was pulled off just......I can't even think of a word bigger than Fail to describe it.

There were a few funny parts here and there, but over all, me and all my friends got out with a sickening feeling. They said that they loved Epic Movie, and apparently they lied to me and themselves. Then again, after screwing up Scary Movie 3, 4, and all the spin offs, I would never see another movie made by the same guys again. What is sad about it is that the seats were full, seriously, everyone who came there had high-hopes for the movie, but at the end, I only heard five people clapping; obviously, either their taste in films are bizarre or they're just like my sister who has no taste (in case you are wondering, she thought Resident Evil Extinction was a "good" movie). Every seat was full to where there was no seats for anyone to sit at. Even though I saw the movie for free, I still feel ripped off, like this movie should NEVER exist.

If that's a bit long to read, let me sum it up: AVOID IT LIKE THE BLACK DEATH!

I want to empty my ass onto this movie, the makers, the actors and anyone who might remotely enjoy it. This is shit and if you think it might not totally be so then you should feel bad about yourself.

Korvaz - January 27, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
Pretending to like this is the greatest thing ever to get people Butthurt. Didn't enjoy it myself, but man, the expressions people make, haha.

Master Shake - January 27, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)
Paying to see this makes you the enemy.

If you paid to see this movie, fuck you. Fuck you for enabling the makers of this cinematic facerape to make MORE of it. Fuck you for NOT paying to see a movie that's more deserving of your money. Fuck you for being part of the problem. Fuck you forever and forever.

Overreacting? Vulgar? Maybe. But as a fan of movies I feel justified in being pissed at how the average mouthbreathing douchebag seems hellbent on lowering pop culture further into the abyss.

If a movie is good, i go and see it, after i've viewed a teaser, as it was. if it wasn't, it's not worthy of the cash. This is my first line of defense against shite.

Master Shake - January 27, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
I have far fewer qualms about stealing this movie and others like it, because it's not a real movie. Although I do question why anyone would want to see it in the first place, free or not...

Alastor Blackrose - January 27, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
Anyone who even remotely liked or bothered to see this is dead to me.

Korvaz - January 27, 2008 07:42 PM (GMT)
It's not that for from an "Ow! My Balls!" Marathon, really. Same intellectual content.

Master Shake - January 27, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
Dude, it's the spiritual precursor to 'Ass: The Movie'.

Streea Barra - January 27, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
CAN'T WATCH.

'BATIN'

Wolf - January 27, 2008 07:54 PM (GMT)
The masturbation channel. Keepin' America 'batin' for 300 years!

Master Shake - January 27, 2008 08:01 PM (GMT)
This thread is starting to make me want a Brawndo and some EXTRA BIG ASS FRIES.

Korvaz - January 27, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
YOU SHOULD BUY SOME NEW SHOES WHILE YOU'RE OUT BECAUSE YOU'LL BE KICKING EVERYONES ASS ALL THE TIME.

And thus, a decent movie was reference. And there was much rejoicing.

Mr. G - January 27, 2008 08:07 PM (GMT)
Guess what movie was #1 this weekend?

brb, hanging myself

Wolf - January 27, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
You just had to come in and ruin everybody's fun, didn't you G?

DIDN'T YOU?

*Saw this a mile away*

Any movie that parodies something in this day and age, is going to suck. Scary Movie was good when it first came out because it was actually funny, but then it got hit with Multiple-Sequal-syndrome.

Of course we all know how it degraded into, Date Movie, and Epic Movie.

-We also know how those turned out.

Master Shake - January 28, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
*misses the glory days of Airplane, Naked Gun and the Hot Shots movies*

What's nice is that 10 years from now, nobody will laugh at the latest crop of parody movies, but they'll still laugh at the oldie-but-goodies. That's some form of vindication, I guess...

Wolf - January 28, 2008 05:05 AM (GMT)
I can't help but think of things like Meet the Spartans or Epic Movie when I think of parody movies now. Back then I just loved parody movies.

Although I didn't see that many of them. I saw Hot Shots, Top Secret, and Naked Gun. I've never got the chance to watch Airplane.

Edit: Oh right, I also saw Mafia too. That wasn't too bad.

Korvaz - January 28, 2008 05:06 AM (GMT)
Looks like you picked the wrong day to quit a classic movie.

You need to see it. I'd like to say good luck, and we're all counting on you.
