I mean, The Chronicles of Narnia was a complete waste of my life, and somehow the movie based off of the first novel, The Golden Compass, in His Dark Materials, from the commercials I've seen, also seems like a total drag...

WILL it be? Or am I just being stupid?

I present this question because I don't g to see many movies nowadays, and I've been WANTING to see THIS one, but now that I've thought about it, it may just end up being another "fantasy-epic" cliche...

So I'm looking for opinions. Anyone?

The Golden Compass looks like it will be fairly good, considering the source and the way that they're pulling it off. One thing to look forward to is them coming out w/a movie for The Subtle Knife and possibly The Amber Spyglass if this one is a box-office success.

I do know however, that some zealots may not see it because of it's atheistic nature, especially when it comes to Spyglass.
