Title: Things you'd like to see turned into movies
Grandy - October 21, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
Because we all have gone through thinking "God I wish they made a movie of that!" at some point in our lifes, and since lately they have been making so many superhero movies and bringing out old characters, I guess we can get our hopes up.
I have a small list, but I guess my first option would be a Static Shock movie. Why? Because I think it'd rock, that's why. Michael B. Jordan could be a perfect Static, and Nick Cannon could do a decent Ebon, who is quite frankly the closer you'd get of a good movie villain. Other people could be other actors, who'm I had no time thinking who's who, but I'm sure this movie would at least have potential.

The sex I had with your mother, last night.
Anyways, I've never been that much of a fan of movies that came from books or games. LotR and Harry Potter being good exceptions, but for the most part I like to keep my imagination.
-Tetris would make an awesome movie though. HOLY SHIT FALLING BLOCKS.

I'm still waiting on Metroid and Castlevania. I mean, they were annonced, but they haven't really gone anywhere yet.
-John Woo was supposed to direct Metroid, and that's the last we've heard of it, and that was in 04. Makes me sad.

If its grave digging, my apoliges..
I'd actually like to see a movie based on the warcraft mythos. Not based on WoW, but the original war. Possibly starcraft as well..

Fireyone - October 27, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)

the dark tower series. that would be awsome.
I'm not sure if I want to see a live action/computer imaged(like transformers) sonic movie because it might suck, just like all other sonic things latley.

Noooooononono.
No.
They are not ruining The Dark Tower series. Theyve ruined nearly every single Stephen King book by making it in to a movie, and they will not ruin that.

Then again I haven't read the book, so.

You know what show I would like to see into a movie?
THIS.I'm not joking...

The book ended a little differently, but then again, it was still a good movie...& that's not the first time that's happened. The story "The Raft" featured in Creepshow 2 by King originally ended w/Randy standing on the raft waiting for the blob to eat him, rather than him molesting the girl and swimming to shore...and getting swallowed by the aquatic trash bag in wave form.

Short story =/= book.
I haven't seen the movie, nor did I saw movies raped all of his books. I just said most.

Uuuh...

I think you meant short story =/= novel, since most people call published novels "books."
But anyway, another thing I'd like to see made into a movie:
I kinda want to see a documentary on the Spanish Inquisition (seriously), going in-depth on the people, torture devices and methods, and the sheer terror of the era.
And for the sake of the joke, have them release no trailers or press information until the day before it's released.

I disagree. The Shining was a fantastic movie adaptation of a great book. Carrie was pretty slick, too.

At the risk of sounding like Celtic I actually would have liked to seen Halo made into a movie. Not because I liked the series but just because I think it would make a pretty interesting war movie. Maybe a futuristic version of saving private ryan or something like that I don't know the point is I wish they hadn't shut down that project.
Streea Barra - November 2, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
Damnit I said nearly! D:<
And when I said short story =/= book, I meant to the singular short story. One short story does not make a book. A group of short stories, however, does.
-1408 being from Everything's Eventual, and there were far better stories in it than 1408, which, wasn't that great.
DisgruntledPostalEmployee - November 2, 2007 10:41 AM (GMT)
On a similar topic, was the adaptation of The Stand any good? The book was great, even though it got a bit stodgy in the middle where suddenly everyone's riding motorbikes around post-apocalyptic America.
Flanker - November 2, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
I'd like to see more World War II movies.

Perhaps some which focus on American soldiers for a change.

Yeah and battles revolving around the far western European theater would be quite unique as well.
Honestly, I'd like to see WW2 naval films (not U-boats, talking battleships here) as well as a few of the battles during the North Africa Campaign.
sicco - November 10, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
since most of the plots in movies these days are crap, I'd like to see a movie entirly focused on one 2 hour long fight scene fight between a godzilla-ish monster and a giant robot. what with the extreme special efects replacing plot in movies these days, it should actualy be a good movie.
