Don't worry.
Youtube might have it up. Even then, if one copy is removed, another will be posted by someone else.
Wolf - October 10, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
o rite how did I forget about Youtube.
I'll probably watch some of it to see how it is, regardless.
Jamer - October 10, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
I really think that Yagami Light is voiced by Nickstorm XD
The voice actor and him sound almost exactly alike.
Digitalpotato - October 11, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
I don't understand why everyone says all english dubs suck. Over the years they really have gotten better.
...especially if you look at other countries dubs, namely Sweden.

Thank you. English dubs, especially those for mainstream anime, have improved to the point of being as good as the original. The translations have become better at keeping the entirity of the plot and less and less signature termonology is being translated. I've actually found some subs that are worse than dubs, actually. Death Note is a highly acclaimed fanchise, and it's likely recieved good care in its dub. So, yes, dubs still occasional fail, but the margin of dub vs original is closing in.
Streea Barra - October 11, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
Only dub I've ever liked is FLCL, which is muuuuuuuuuuuch muchmuch better than the sub.
In other news: I live in Canada. I don't get Adult Swim. Just it's bastard child, Teletoon.
DisgruntledPostalEmployee - October 11, 2007 10:35 AM (GMT)
The dub of Castle of Cagliostro was better scripted than the subtitled version, and starred David "Solid Snake" Hayter.
It really is down to how much independence the dub has from the original script. Direct translations sound awful, while more interpretative translations can sound great.

I liked teletoon when I saw it up in Canada, undergrads seemed like a good show.
Anyway, I think Canadians are going to get death note on YTV starting October 26.

Undergrads. Haha, oh wow. When I was in a hotel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, that came on their version of Adult Swim. Fucking awesome show.

Just go to Adultswim.com they have the first 2 episodes there.
Winsom - October 29, 2007 12:35 PM (GMT)
I wanted to see the first episode, SOOOO bad. A FRIEND of mine oh so very kindly RUINED the ending of the manga, so not being able to watch the anime killed my experience all the more. I'll probably go and look for the episodes at someone else's house, someone who doesn't have shitty internet. <<
*bitter*
GamemasterAnthony - October 29, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
Missed the first episode, but saw the second. I can see now why people are into this.
Whoever this L guy is...is VERY impressive. Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot would be proud of him.

Actually he just annouced to Kira that he knew the country Kira was, meaning, he just gave away his main clue. Were Kira not a student, he could simply get the first plane to Belgium or something.
Still, I love the show.
Delta - October 29, 2007 02:45 PM (GMT)
Still. L is awesome. I need to see more.

Ryuk kills Light in the end.
Spoilers, etc.

OMG FORUM SPOILER: Spoiling things on the internet is not, nor will ever be, funny. I don't care what 4chan told you, that dog don't fucking hunt.
Digitalpotato - November 1, 2007 05:50 AM (GMT)
...Death note's been around for how long? You guys are just having it spoiled for you now? O_o
I remember reading an unofficial translation of it back in '04.

I know the ending. I've read the manga (which wrapped up last year, not '04). I've watched the anime on fansub. You're not spoiling ME one iota.
It's the other poor bastards you're potentially spoiling that's pissing me off. It's not cool to look forward to something and then have some random douchebag run at you and blab the ending. Someone did it to me before I saw the Sixth Sense, so naturally it pisses me off by proxy seeing some stupid internet cuntpuncher going around blabbing endings like it's the funniest shit on record.
In conclusion, that dog don't fucking hunt.
Streea Barra - November 1, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
...But the Sixth Sense wasn't even a good movie.
-You're never going to avoid spoilers, so just get used to it, or live under a rock until you're done.
Alastor Blackrose - November 1, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
There's no use whining over the internet. It's just harmless fun to me and I don't see what the big deal is, so you aren't going to change anything. Get off the internet if you want to avoid this sort of thing.
Tough-titty, Shake.

I'm sorry, you must have a hard time understanding the concept of not being a douchebag over the internet. Why must you continue to prove the validity of
John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory? Just because you can get away with being a stupid loudmouthed cuntpuncher on the interweb doesn't make it a capital fucking idea.
Oh, and I don't take lectures from pseudo-/b/tards. That dog don't hunt, son.
Iota - November 1, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Shake. Cool it. You're flipping out over a bloody anime. An anime. I was spoiled far before I finished it, but it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the series.
In short, remember kids, the internets are serious business!

With your assumed knowledge of internet users' mentalities, one would think you'd have learned not to feed the trolls by now. Constantly using a less-than-amusing catchphrase isn't helping your status either. Settle down and zip it before the mods stop finding you amusing.
On-topic, I can't wait to hear Ray Penbar's voice for some reason.

It's not the anime I'm "flipping out" over, it's the general principle and the lack of civility going on. Posting unmarked spoilers isn't good discussion. It's not even terribly funny or clever. It's just douchey, and nobody likes douchey.
I'll lay off the kid.

I didnt' see the ending until recently - I saw what was going on early in the story at the time. I didn't know it ended that recently.
