To any One Piece fans who hate the 4Kids dub, I have splendid news to report.

Quexinos, the webmistress of the Save One Piece website, has comfirmed that 4Kids Entertainment is no longer dubbing that anime.

And there you have it, One Piece is now going to be dubbed by a different company. I'm not sure who it will be, but one things for sure, One Piece is saved!!

Or mabey One Peice will be dropped off the market and won't be done by anyone. Whilst that might suck, it could suck.

Lets hope they dont change any of the guns to look like toys, keep the voice acting cast, which I think is mostly great, and keep AT LEAST, some of the blood.
Oh, AND THEY BETTER HAVE ENERU STAY A SKY LORD!

One Piece saved? I doubt it. Either the US won't get any more One Piece (but barely any country touches my favorite anime stuff to begin with), or some other childish company will pick One Piece up and bastardize it in a similar way. I don't really care, but hopefully it could lead to the betterness of One Piece in the future. I highly doubt it, though.

No country bastardizes anime more than 4kids, its not a statement, its a fact.

You didn't see the English Jetix edits of Naruto, did you? They cut even more stuff out of it than 4Kids did. REALLY badly edited as well, like they would just show a background shot during big fight scenes, you can hear what's going on but you can't see anything.

You guys are lucky. One Piece in Brazil, while also was partly edited by 4Kids before coming to here, is something really, really lame, but mostly because of voice acting.

Luffy sounds like a full adult guy.
Zoro seems to have a speech impedment.
Nami just sounds plain retarded.
Sanji... well, he's almost not bad, but I don't think his voice fits him. He sounds too much like a serious guy.

Also, it seems japanese have smaller words than we do, that screws up lip sync. The solution? Stop talking when the characters stop moving their mouths. In theory, it could work, in reality...

"I'm Luffy and I'm... ... ... ... ... going to be the king of the ... ... pirates!"

And to prevent curse words, many times they add some nonsense or keep repeating statements.

They also put much amphasys in words that really shouldn't have so much emphasys on them.

Seriously, you get more action watching Rugrats.

I don't really like One Piece, but I've heard all about their terrible dubs. Like turning a cigarette into a lollipop but forgetting to dub out the smoke from one small scene.

Kids all over America will see that and wonder "WTF?"

But yeah, 4Kids BUTCHERS every anime they get their hands on. Don't get me wrong, the voices are decent, but the amount of the show cut out for kids viewing is insane! Especially when showing stuff like showers, hot springs (If you watch Yu-Gi-Oh GX, there is a hot spring scene in the Japanese version with Jaden and Cyrus (The little green-ish haired kid) washing eachothers backs. Had the 4Kids censors up in arms.

Oh, and before I forget, Lost In Translation

Oh finally, first.. They Lose Pokemon.. Now they lose Rights to One Piece.. Finally they are losing there Long Awaited fight..

But they need to get rid of 4kids for good..

I've said before that 4kids dubbing One Piece or other anime was better than nothing, but...now I realize how wrong I was. Oh, so wrong...

Now I too am hoping for 4kids' reign of dubbing terror to end.

So first they lose Pokemon, and now One Piece. If only the people who made the anime demanded accurate uneditted translations with absolutely no BGM changes from 4kids dubs then they wouldn't suck so bad.

There's a common misconception about 4Kids' One Piece. The voice actors are actually pretty good.

...They just don't fit for the characters they're playing, that's all. Like Enel and Crocodile's dubbed VAs. They sound cool, but not for Enel and Crocodile.

Although Tashigi's dubbed VAer totally sucks. I'm not gonna try to defend her.

The swedish dub of Cyborg 009 had ONE person do the voices for EVERYONE (Or a bunch of people who sound the same...like japanese seiyuus who all sound the same person), half of them sound like retards reading a script, and it was translated by a person with a high-school level understanding of the swedish Language, at best.

Tell me how 4kids/4krap can top THAT.

I'll have to disagree about the VAs being good, sure they can do voices but like you said they didn't match the characters, part of voice acting is finding the right voices for characters, so they failed that test abysmally, also I failed to hear the acting, no kind of emotion was put into their lines at all so I found that I just couldn't connect with the characters, they sounded like machines and they were generally... well... crap.

... And Digital, yeah that's just... yikes.
