In today's society, Hip-Hop (or Rap, depending on what you call it) is indeed the number one genre in the world. From fashion, to movies, to talk shows, to the 11 o'clock news........some how, some way, you've gotten some Hip-Hop mentioned to you today.

From the carefree party rhymes of The Sugar Hill Gang to the reckless abadonment of N.W.A. to today's mix of both styles, Hip-Hop has been in the fore front of society.

Yet, there are critics of this flourishing culture who feel this genre is destroying society in general. People look at artists such as 50 Cent, Jay-Z, or Young Jeezy as a reason that kids have no morals or respect for others. From the lyrics all the to the new crop of borderline X-Rated videos, people say that Hip-Hop has become self-destructive and ,in turn, destructive of all.

With that being said, my questions are......

Is it fair that Hip-Hop is get a "bad rap" for the ills of society?

Do you think that the critics about Hip-Hop's possibly dangerous nature are right? (You know, the stereotypes about the "criminal element" in Hip-Hop.)

Do you have criticism for the genre?

Please respond. Every opinion counts (positive or negative).

HOLLA AT YA BOY!!

People forget music is music and should not be taken into deep context and act out on it. The only reason this idiocracy is even mentioned is because of sensationism in the media, it all blows over. I am one for not caring, I am in it for the appreciation. Shadow, it was cute by the way you did this and used your shadyoak4life name on MTV.

Thank you! I put it in many MBs (Mya, Brooke Valentine, Keyshia Cole, MTV, and this one). I plan to make more of these "Questions" and put them in every MB I can.
