The woman who spearheaded the Civil Rights movement ended her long fulfilling life this evening. Rosa Parks passed away at 92. She passed away of natural causes, so she went to the spirit world peacefully.

The thing with Ms. Parks was she was just like any of us. She was a hard working woman. She rode a bus to work and back home. Where the similarities end is we have the fortune to not worry of losing a seat. She had to live through that. Crazy to believe it will be 50 years ago on December 1st that Ms. Parks was arrested for refusing to give up a seat she rightfully deserved to sit on. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. A 381 day boycott ensued and a leader was born in one Dr. King.

Ms. Parks can be called the mother of equal rights. She was active in other groups, including the NAACP and her own charitable organization, Parks Institute. The woman lived her life to its fullest, staying active for good causes even up to her later years.

Her action helped America evolve to the way it was. We would never of had the great leaders that emerged from these protests of freedom. People would probably never stood up for the right cause. It took a gracious lady to not stand up, but sit down.

yep, I found out this morning. She was truly a great woman. I guess death can be expected at her age but I'm glad she at least went in a peaceful way. The changes caused by her standing up for her rights are still appreciated today, and she will never be forgotten.
