What pisses me off is the fucking media, I turn to the news and instead of imbracing the Man, they're talking about the fucking negative effects of his tragic death. Let the man Rest in Piece and not stress his family with troubles.

Illpoetic - April 2, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
I'm tired of hearing about it period. People are acting like he was God or something.

he was 84 years old! WTF, did they think he was immortal?

the_punisher_ - April 2, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
Actually I think they did. He's been the only pope in my lifetime and I never even thought about there ever being another one.(Maybe because Im not catholic)

The crazy thing is, on Friday, it leaked that he passed. This religion is funny sometimes. In the times that technology was not this advanced, the church was able to hold an announcement til Sunday Mass. This pope was basically allegedly alive for one and a half days extra. They were able to get it as close to midnight Rome time as they could. There was significance to his life, being the first non-Italian pope. This opens the doors for Latin American, African and even the US to have someone from their congregations named the papal leader. This makes it two high religious leaders passing in consecutive weeks. The Hisidic rebbe passed and they are in search of their new leader, I don't know if it will pass to son like it did a fews years ago.

yea i had dinner with four friends last nite and i asked them each to name the date and time that the pope died and they each said something different

DarkPoet - April 4, 2005 02:50 AM (GMT)
The media is crazy right now about this, it's fucking a death, little Shanno just died in New York why isn't she on T.V. It's bullshit that a man can't die to himself, no he has to have his shit front page. They need to just make billboards stating, "He's finally bit the big one! Bye John Paul II."

lol, ChampionLover, I feel you on that shit about your friends. Altho 2 of my boys didn't even know The Pope had died.

NsaneC - April 4, 2005 02:54 AM (GMT)
RIP, i think its stupid that they place this man's dead body out in front of the vatican for eeveryone to see.

Also why is everyone hyping this guy up. What did he really do???

DarkPoet - April 4, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
I could careless, people die everyday. I know a kid named Michael Pope who was shot does he count as a Pope? I think not, fuck it he died so does everyone else.

Illpoetic - April 4, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
exactly, people die everyday, but this person's death is a damn international event...blah...like I said, he was 84, what do they expect.

10th letter q-boro - April 4, 2005 04:57 AM (GMT)
Like the Hisidic rebbe the week before, it was not that a man died. They are symbols of what those people believe in, in the physical form. As a Catholic myself, I felt bad. Like the future saint, Mother Teresa, the pope sacrificed all temptations you and I desire. I do not if the rebbe had a similar path. To me Mother Teresa did more in her life to help and give. He did the same though. I wish that they can use the valubles in the Vatican vaults to help the poor more, but he gave the poor hope. He went places where no one in his place in Catholic society wouldn't care going. He cared. That is what it sums up to. You might not believe in him, but he cared about you. I will respect that. I never cared to go see him, but when he spoke for everyone to keep your head up and do not let the evils overtake you, he was speaking with you, me, him, her, them, all of us in mind.

Illpoetic - April 4, 2005 12:12 PM (GMT)
I may not believe in him? Why are you speaking as if this man was God?

10th letter q-boro - April 4, 2005 03:31 PM (GMT)
I never did say that. I am saying to most people he was the extention to the spiritual world. I said what I respected was he would be cool with you if you were not cool with him. I even said I didn't go nuts for his passing, but I respect it.

Illpoetic - April 4, 2005 08:20 PM (GMT)
what happened to the last two posts here?

I dunno. I guess i can see what 10th letter is saying. I used to be catholic. My parents were. i grew up and just stopped believing in fairy tales. I just have no connection to this guy personally. i fell sorry that he died but i dont feel like i have some spiritual connection with him. Better people who are unrecognized die all the time. I dunno, i am just rambling on.

Illpoetic - April 5, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
I feel you, same way I feel. I respect the way others feel though.

DarkPoet - April 5, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
I feel that a price on death is age, he was 84. The man couldn't die in peace, because he was a man who was mentored by his people. Trust, I feel deeply for this lost, but death is the only thing promised in life. Nothing else is promised then birth and death. R.i.p. John Paul II.

Illpoetic - April 5, 2005 10:23 PM (GMT)
was it really necessary for his corpse to be on the cover of every major newspaper today?

Hell no, that's the whole reason I say he can't die in peace. I don't want to see no dead body on t.v.

Illpoetic - April 6, 2005 02:03 AM (GMT)
they really think he's God, on the front page a couple days ago they called him the Holy Father, wtf.

10th letter q-boro - April 6, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
It is not as crazy when the Ayotollah passed away. They actually showed on TV the followers fighting over who will touch his dead corpse. But it is newsworthy to someone.

I'm quite far from a religous man Howie...but he wasnt only a religous leader, it's more than just saying he is catholic.

Howie - July 31, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
idc what he was. He had nothing to do with me at all.

He would have wanted to though, theres not many people like that these days who would try to care for so many people & even people in his religon only care for themselves but dont just throw the guys death to the side like its nothing.

Howie - July 31, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
Yea i guess i'm being a little to much of a dick. But thats the way i've been as of late. I keep getting dicked around so i'm like on that fuck the world shit. I've put time in helping people but never get the feel they care then they go and do the same shit i just helped them get through. So yea. but i understand what your saying.
