Title: Lifetime Achievement Award 2004

I did not want to go with another deceased person this year and I thought of the perfect man. He touched Hip-Hop and the sub-cultures around it. And done so in a way not too many could have. A former ballplayer, an author, a DJ, a collector of the finest sneakers in the world’s history, a journalist, a DJ, etc. You call me an encyclopedia. Compared to him, I am just a volume, he is the whole set. He has helped out so many artists to get a medium to get heard and it is true statement that he made half the artists in the golden era famous. He was part of a radio show that was a cult following as huge as the Rocky Horror and spanned around the globe. He helps create underground Hip-Hop radio. One of the most popular articles for Vibe, that’s him. He has brought attention to graph and breaking cultures and when it was becoming extinct, he helped bring the awareness to revive it. An entrepreneur, that has opened a store to those looking for sneakers that were hard to find, because all of us can't go to Tokyo and London just to buy the Air Force 1’s and Blazers in colors available there only. He created that particular industry. He does not have the show anymore; he has gone into retirement from the radio. Deserving to get that break. He has done voice over work for video games. He has done commercials. He has hosted basketball events. He is even on MTV every once in a blue, because he can do that. The person who deserves for his achievements in helping the Hip-Hop culture is BOBBITO GARCIA.

excellent. I knew you were the right man for this category. You chose a man well deserving and articulated why he was chosen wonderfully.
