Title: TRU Mock Presidential Election 2004

Illpoetic - October 31, 2004 07:30 PM (GMT)
Vote!

JayPrimaL - October 31, 2004 09:20 PM (GMT)
Not saying Kerry is going to suddenly make a drastic change in how the country is run, cause if it ws my way none of these men would be the leaser of the nation. However, John kerry is indeed a good man, I am also very liberal on most everything.

Shadow - October 31, 2004 09:27 PM (GMT)
I'm voting for Kerry this Tuesday, but to me, Man can't run a spot like Jehovah can.

I rather entrust my life to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ! Feel me?

HOLLA AT YA BOY!!!

Illpoetic - October 31, 2004 10:43 PM (GMT)
I have already voted for Kerry on my absentee ballot a week or two ago, I checked online and my vote has already been recorded at my polling office.

I see it like this, I like the things that Kerry says he plans on doing in his platform and can only hope that he follows through on his word. If he does I will be happy, if not, we gotta make some changes.

Bush, I have seen in action, he has caused this country and other countries to be in a state of hell for four years, he has polarized america insstead of brining it closer together, he has attempted to limit the rights and freedoms of the American people, and he has lied to this country and caused thousands of lives to be lost based on false motives. Basically I think its about time to get the devil out of office. The bastard is the anti-christ.

JayPrimaL - October 31, 2004 10:45 PM (GMT)
But christains believe he is the savior to our country, ironic eh?

Illpoetic - October 31, 2004 10:50 PM (GMT)
ironic indeed.

throughout history Christianity has been used as a tool of manipulation for the gullible.

TriangleOffense - November 1, 2004 12:47 AM (GMT)
I know who Im voting for on Tuesday looks like Im the only one though

Rizoh - November 1, 2004 12:55 AM (GMT)
^let me guess, it was you that cast that single vote for Bush/Cheney on the TRU poll but on Tuesday you're going to realize how much a big decision this is, and after so much contemplation decide to vote for Nader.
j/k
on the real, I respect everyone's vote.

NsaneC - November 1, 2004 02:22 AM (GMT)
i don't respect bush/cheney votes

Illpoetic - November 1, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
lol.

no member bashing, only presidential candidate bashing

we can't all agree on everything, but I'm sure everyone has SOME reason for why they are voting, have voted, or will vote a certain way. Though it is hard to imagine why people still support bush.

Howie - November 1, 2004 03:50 AM (GMT)
NADER

Illpoetic - November 1, 2004 04:35 AM (GMT)
I like Nader, wish he had a chance of winning.

Rizoh - November 1, 2004 09:45 AM (GMT)
^LOL

Seriously, the good thing about supporting Nader is that the other candidates will be forced to pick up some of his proposals since he's the only one addressing issues that directly affect the common man. In essence, he constitutes a valid opposition which in turn brings out the best in the other 2 candidates.

PS-I like the fact that TRU is a balanced community. Peep the poll, every candidate received at least 1 vote.

Illpoetic - November 1, 2004 01:20 PM (GMT)
thats a good way to look at Nader riz. Its tru too

and yes, TRU is pretty balanced in many aspects.

however in this particular aspect the Hip-Hop community as a whole has pretty much mobilized on one side simply because the issues that affect most of those lean toward one side drastically so I'm not surprised that it is not completely balanced.

Nader. I did in 2000 and I won't change my stand here. Seems like a throwaway today, but if more and more support and vote each time around, in due time they will be a force. Like I always say, one today, maybe another tomorrow, three 2 weeks from now. Slowly but surely, Rome wasn't built in a day. Plus his platform is more based for America's youth, and more enviormently friendly. He is also borderline whacko, which is needed to shake up this nation now.

Illpoetic - November 1, 2004 06:19 PM (GMT)
you have a point queens.

but I don't want to take the chance of not doing my part to STOP bush from being elected, and basically any vote that is not for kerry will not be enough to keep bush out.

but if you don't like either of the main candidates then voting nader is the way to go.

10th letter q-boro - November 1, 2004 07:46 PM (GMT)
I am going to be blunt here, no matter what, they both will make the people lose. It is a pick your poison, no matter a big business is going to run the white house. Bush is not bad, but he is not good. He is letting Cheney and big business run him. He is a Yale graduate, even as a legacy and rich kid, to get a Yale degree still means something. Why wasn't Edwards(the better man) the Democrat candidate? Because his wife is not associated with Heinz. Dean was burried for showing heart. Edwards was considered a nobody when the primaries were being held. All because of the Heinz corporation. Imagine what they will influence in the White House. Same scenarios is not my cup of tea.

Illpoetic - November 1, 2004 08:11 PM (GMT)
Bush IS bad.

lying to the country about the motives of a war...bad.

attempting to limit the freedoms of the american people...bad.

huge deficit...bad.

and he graduated from yale with a D average...and got in because his father was a big man. I'm not impressed.

like I said, I've already voted, and voted for the person who can actually dethrone bush...I feel strongly enough about wanting bush gone that I will not throw my vote to a candidate who has no chance of winning, and thats me.

Illpoetic - November 1, 2004 09:57 PM (GMT)
I see where you are coming from though queens, and I respect you.

I'm just coming from a different direction.

10th letter q-boro - November 1, 2004 11:02 PM (GMT)
Cool, but one never votes to get rid of someone. One votes for the better person to win. You have doubts when you said I voted for the one to dethrone Bush.

Illpoetic - November 2, 2004 12:06 AM (GMT)
yes, I have a strong disliking for bush, and it is serious because he is running a country, four more years with him, I feel will be detrimental and I don't see the need to vote for a candidate who has no chance of winning and is not even on the polls in all states. Kerry, I like his stances on the issues, bush I don't. Kerry is who I voted for. Nader, I like his stances more than both bush's & Kerry's but I also know he has no chance of winning meaning voting for him will basically throw my vote away and help bush.

10th letter q-boro - November 2, 2004 12:16 AM (GMT)
Maybe in 2008, your faith will be stronger and not think of it as a throw away but in helping build a strong foundation.

Illpoetic - November 2, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
I made the choice that I wanted to make.

and its the right one for me.

I do not want to keep in office a man who will take away the rights of people because of their sexual orientation, that is predjudiced, and I will not allow predjudice to place other people in subordinate positions by laws as it did in the past with my ancestors.

I will not sit here and do nothing about a president who has lied to the country and as a result has thousands of lives being lost, Amerian and Iraqui.

I will do what I can do right now. This country does not need this president for four more years, and you already stated that you think he is not bad which is why you probably made your choice, but me, I think he is way past bad which explains mine. we are two difference people with 2 different views of the situation. and I voted based on mine and you will vote based on yours. We shall see what happens.

but I do not regret my decision one bit. I am very proud and very glad to have been able to vote in my first presidential election.

NsaneC - November 2, 2004 02:14 AM (GMT)
Nader has alot of good ideas but its just that he has no chance of winning.

Illpoetic - November 2, 2004 02:16 AM (GMT)
Nader has great ideas. Best out of all of the candidates.

JayPrimaL - November 2, 2004 10:09 PM (GMT)
Texas even in urban areas is horrible when it comes to politicians & their followers, I still say my usual rants on bush & all that, but damn these people make it hard, I just look at them like they are stupid....do you not know what the guy stands for, we arent making money....we might as well not need any president, not that extreme but they have no idea.

Skov - November 2, 2004 11:27 PM (GMT)
Walt Brown...

Rizoh - November 2, 2004 11:27 PM (GMT)
I know what you talking about Jay, but believe me round here in Houston, young people have actually gone out in flocks to cast their vote. I call it the awakening. Imagine the difference it'll make if the Hip Hop generation can actually impact this election and achieve the desired result - it'll make people start thinking that their vote actually counts and i'm talking about generations of positive thinking.

Oh and shut up Alex

Illpoetic - November 3, 2004 03:49 PM (GMT)
its a sad day in America...

Shadow - November 3, 2004 05:01 PM (GMT)
Please don't tell me that what happened 4 years ago is gonna happen again.

Fuck Bush!!!

It's time to destroy the Evil Empire (the Bush Administration). We voted to get Bush out of office. Like the Rev. Al Sharpton said, "We got moving vans coming in January."

I wanna see them coming to get Bush and his bull---- administration out of Washington D.C.!!

I wanna see America back to how it was back when Clinton ran this country. Bush is doing nothing but running this country INTO THE GROUND!!! America already fell into a pit of darkness with Bush as "President". Now, if Bush wins, this country will go all the way to Hell!!

I'll be long gone into Canada or Mexico before that happens!

HOLLA AT YA BOY!!!!

Illpoetic - November 3, 2004 05:23 PM (GMT)
to hell we go...

Shadow - November 3, 2004 05:44 PM (GMT)
I'll see you in Canada!!! I'm not playing. I'm already looking for apartments in Windsor (neighboring city of Detroit). I'm also looking for the one thing that America will never have as long as Bush is in office...a job!!!

See you in 4 years (unless you're coming with me)!

HOLLA AT YA BOY, EH?!!!

Illpoetic - November 3, 2004 07:08 PM (GMT)
I was thinking about Canada too.

10th letter q-boro - November 3, 2004 07:11 PM (GMT)
Next time around, go for the Southern vote. When one candidate takes that whole chunk for himself, how can someone win. Even though New York, Illinois and California have the three biggest cities in the country and 125 electoral votes, you need to get where many feel are forgotten by them. Also, there is a switch to how the Parties view their policies now. The young gaurd is arising and it is looking bleek if you are a Democrat and thinking that your wants and needs will be addressed by them.

Illpoetic - November 3, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
yeah, bush took my state (SC) easy

but I know many people who went Kerry, so thats all we can do.

SonnyDano - November 3, 2004 07:58 PM (GMT)
bush winning=depressing

Illpoetic - November 3, 2004 08:03 PM (GMT)
painful and depressing.
