Title: Return of Fan Fiction
Description: Adept Quiz and Walkthrough
Marlin ßeta - January 4, 2004 03:59 PM (GMT)
After a long absence, the Aerie’s Fan Fiction section is back by popular request. Please don’t abuse or neglect it like last time. Anyway, I have not heard any positive or negative comments concerning the Adept Personality Quiz. I need your inputs so that I can improve the system. I want to hear it all. Well. I’ve narrowed the staff position down to two people. I’m not going to be taking any more submissions for the position. I’ve had very few requests for the staff position anyway, so that’s not one of my major concerns. I’m really hoping to find the time to get started on that walkthrough for The Lost Age. I haven’t had any requests for haste, but I’d appreciate it if everyone would be patient just the same. Thanks.

Yes...my problem with the quiz is that it is full of groundless stereotypes. I mean, not all Fire Adepts are muscleheaded irrational people, and not all Water Adepts are smooth talking and sophisticated...heheheh nah jp the quiz is fine. Screw political correctness or whateva the heck you wanna call it.
Marlin ßeta - January 5, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
The quiz is designed to be based on the characteristics of the Golden Sun party and foes. That's all.

The quiz is very good. :D YAY I'M JUPITER!!!
Silver Chaos Adept - January 5, 2004 11:13 AM (GMT)
Mehehe, the last message was mine. :D

I’d also like your opinions on this new comment system. I’ve tied it into the forums, but I’m interested to know if you’ve actually visited Aerie of the Roc and read the news post there first.
Majinlink - January 6, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
It's good. I didn't feel like there were enough questions though.
And about the comments system, you should use something like Fusion News or Cutenews.
Alex the Evil - January 6, 2004 02:03 AM (GMT)
Or how about Destruction News? Destruction good...

A news program would make things easier. However, I have several other fronts that I'm coming from. I'm trying to attract more users to the forums. Also, a news management program would make it a little more difficult for me to back up my news effectively. I'm definitely going to consider it, though.

Just take it easy. If I make the change, it won’t be anytime soon.
Silver Chaos Adept - January 7, 2004 11:13 AM (GMT)
I'm surprised you even have the time.
Marlin ßeta - January 7, 2004 03:46 PM (GMT)
Don't forget. I have no life. :P
SuicuneSol - January 7, 2004 07:18 PM (GMT)
I like it. Your quiz is just fine. I'm a water adept which I expected.
But your fanfiction section. So many rules and regulations...
Marlin ßeta - January 7, 2004 07:49 PM (GMT)
It's all in an effort to maintain quality. Aerie of the Roc has a strict censorship policy. That's just the system I've adopted. I'm sorry if that conflicts with your lifestyle. I'd feel different if Golden Sun was rated T.
Majinlink - January 8, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
GS should be rated T. So should Zelda.
I mean, SSB:Melee is
Marlin ßeta - January 8, 2004 01:19 AM (GMT)
That's because Melee had a great deal more violence than The Legend of Zelda series. Melee involves a great deal of "fist fighting" that could be suggestive to younger people. Zelda's and Golden Sun's violence takes on a form that is much less structured. Not only that, but Zelda and Golden Sun both have a much larger exploration and adventure scope that dominates the game, as opposed to Melee's solely fighting based genre. :)
Silver Chaos Adept - January 9, 2004 11:13 AM (GMT)
How is a pink blob and a stick man fighting suggestive?
Marlin ßeta - January 9, 2004 06:01 PM (GMT)
While Melee may have a few cute, cuddly characters, I stand by my position that it’s realistic fighting base warrants it’s T rating.
Max - January 10, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)
Yea yea...but they should seriously make a more adult themed Zelda game. I'm not talking about a rated M game, but comon...don't market it to the little kids. The reasons for that are:
1. Little kids shouldn't even play video games...I seriously don't think video games are healthy for young, developing minds. They should be outside playing with their friends outside or something. I know I've played video games since I was 6, but that doesn't make it right.
2. Kids don't stay young forever. Eventually, when they get older they will probably get sick of the game and consider it too childish. If you make it T or higher, it will appeal to more consumers...at least i think so.

Marlin ßeta - January 11, 2004 03:19 PM (GMT)
Hmmm. I don't see anything wrong with that. However, don't forget that everyone's favorite (mine too) was Ocarina of Time. This game was rated E. I'm just trying to point out that a T rating does not necessarily make a game better.
Max - January 11, 2004 11:07 PM (GMT)
Yes, but even Ocarina of time was almost a border-line T rating it seemed. In later versions of the game, they had to change some of the color of the blood, like when Ganondorf coughed up all that blood when fighting him. They changed it from red to green. The game also had plenty of violence, not to mention the suggestive looking attack that the Re-Deads did (Jump on your back, starting to get...freaky with it? lol nah...). I dunno, to me it kinda looked like some sorta weird kinda rape. Anyway, yea Zelda looked like it coulda almost been a T.
Marlin ßeta - January 12, 2004 12:48 AM (GMT)
I guess I can let that go. Yeah. No problems here.
Silver Chaos Adept - January 12, 2004 12:37 PM (GMT)
Hello! Yay I went to Lemuria!!! Awwww, but I feel so sorry for poor Picard.... :( Poor him.
Picard: :( * sniffs*
AWWWWWW!!!!!! Don't get depressed on me!
Samus: Bang!! Birdies die! Die I say! DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 Samus...... those are not birdies.
Samus: KABOOOM!!!! * laughs manically*
Marlin ßeta - January 12, 2004 06:40 PM (GMT)
Yeah. That's another thing I noticed. Samus doesn't have a speaking voice just like Link. In fact, come to think of it, Fox McCloud (and the rest of his team) from the Starfox Series is one of the few Nintendo characters to have a speaking voice. Isn't that odd?
Silver Chaos Adept - January 12, 2004 06:42 PM (GMT)
Hey people please go to www.freewebs.com/rainbow_lighthouse2 because it is my GS fansite!!!!!!
Marlin ßeta - January 13, 2004 12:06 AM (GMT)
Silver. I just visited your site and I noticed that your hit counter said 1. Is that correct? :!:
Silver Chaos Adept - January 13, 2004 08:58 AM (GMT)
HOORAY!!!!!!!!! PS thanks for checking my site!!!!!
Marlin ßeta - January 13, 2004 03:48 PM (GMT)
Well you're very welcome. There. This short little comment ought to make Max upset.
Max - January 13, 2004 10:36 PM (GMT)
Why should it? I said it's lazy...but really it doesn't bug me much, the short comments...
Marlin ßeta - January 14, 2004 03:45 AM (GMT)
Silver Chaos Adept - January 14, 2004 12:57 PM (GMT)
Whatever. Now get your butt to my site & have another look around. I added more stuff.
Marlin ßeta - January 14, 2004 08:41 PM (GMT)
I see you're getting back into the "new elements" area again. I guess I'll just have to humor you for now. Anyway, you have some good character summaries. Now how about writing a story about them? :vein:
Silver Chaos Adept - January 15, 2004 01:15 PM (GMT)
Hey, give me a break! I need a story plot though....... actually, I called Mia & Ivan Ciarn and Devia in my second GS file...... that's where I got the names. Any plot ideas are welcome. PS I drew a picture of a Chaos/Space Djinn! Go me!!!
Silver Chaos Adept - January 20, 2004 08:11 PM (GMT)
Yeah.... the first time I heard that music, I though of Isaac sitting on a clifftop, remembering......
Marlin ßeta - January 19, 2004 03:41 PM (GMT)
Silver. I went back to your site and I couldn't find anything about your chaos djinni.
