Max - December 15, 2003 01:31 AM (GMT)
I am sorry, but you are sadly mistaken...I am no fire adept...I...am what I like to call... a Multi-Elemental Adept. My powers are not limited to only one elemental source. I have control over all of the elements. That doesn't mean that my Elemental type is merely enhanced by the use of Djinn...I have no need for such worthless creatures...Have you not already recognized them for what they truly are? They are parasites. While they blind host with the increased power they add, they feed off of their victim's very soul...It is quite a slow process, yet in time the host will become nothing more than soul-less creature, and a dead conscience. And all creatures without souls have no hope for an afterlife. So be warned, all of you Djinn wielders. While in this life you may gain a very reliable source of Elemental power, you will suffer the consequences of your lust for power by having no hope for life after death...
Marlin ßeta - December 15, 2003 06:51 PM (GMT)
So I guess that last comment you made makes you a fool...right? Anyway, don't get too cocky, Max (if that is your real name). Otherwise you might sound like a hypocrite to your own beliefs. Nobody likes that...
Max - December 15, 2003 11:49 PM (GMT)
Yes, Max is what everyone calls me, although my full name is Maximilian. Don't worry about me getting too cocky, for I am very well aware of my limitations (which I shall not disclose at this very moment). I simply do not wish to use Djinn. I have no need to explain again why I despise those creatures so.
Marlin ßeta - December 16, 2003 06:06 PM (GMT)
Maximilian? Is that even spelled right? Well, anyway, just watch it. You're the kind of person my mother warned me about. ;)
Max - December 18, 2003 10:51 PM (GMT)
Hmm..."just watch it" eh?...Marlin, could you be threatening me? Now I don't want to make any rash judgements about the comments towards me, but I think that it is you who should watch it my friend. And yes, that is how you spell Maximilian. That is the name my parents have given me...
Lor - December 18, 2003 11:57 PM (GMT)
ROFL  ok ok cool it now kids. Max, if your following the golden sun story, you are a fire adept. and dont try and sound all "im better then you" smarty like. no one likes that. And i dont know what the heck you said about djinn, but i dont like em either, and i nvr use them in the game because they enhance characters and i dont like that i made strong chars who dont need djinn, i got them on summon status all the time and i nvr use them :)
Max - December 19, 2003 12:54 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...Alex is right. I honestly don't think i'm better than anyone, I was only fooling around. Now, if you all desire, I can dispose of my "better than thou" language and alter it to a more...casual form......... heh, so yea, i can takl all normal and stuff adn be u know cool and not type so smart-like yea? Mebbe even a few tyops are fine....haha...remember all, try not to take me so seriously....
Marlin ßeta - December 19, 2003 06:38 PM (GMT)
Stop bashing the djinn. They’re our friends and fellow creatures. B) They also give us all access to some of the coolest, most powerful psynergies of the game. Even if you don’t unleash or summon the djinn, those little critters are useful beyond any reasonable doubt. :P
Max - December 19, 2003 09:15 PM (GMT)
Yes you're right...I can't honestly say I could enjoy the game as much without the Djinn since I use them so often. Also I've been thinking....Around the beginning of Golden Sun, when you meet your first Djinn Flint, doesn't he ask you tell help him find his comrades so they can be reunited? In the Lost Age after collecting all the Djinn, all they did was unlock a new dungeon...which didn't seem to have much impact on the story line. Think perhaps there will be even greater rewards ahead for having all 72 Djinn from the first two games?
Marlin ßeta - December 20, 2003 02:59 PM (GMT)
Oh I certainly hope so. It would be a great reward for all of us who became involved with the Golden Sun phenomenon during it’s early stages.
Max - December 23, 2003 07:39 PM (GMT)
Yes...and hopefully they'll throw in a reward for having attained all the summons too...some of those weren't easy to get....
Marlin ßeta - December 24, 2003 03:36 PM (GMT)
I never thought of that. But now that you’ve got me going it’s difficult for me to imagine a situation where you could benefit from being able to bring summons from a previous game. You can only use the summons in battle. How would that help you? Sorry if I’m sounding a little cynical, but I could use a little help coming up with some kind of idea to take advantage of your summons.
Max - December 24, 2003 08:19 PM (GMT)
Yes you are right I guess. It was just a little wishful thinking. Hmm...maybe if they felt like complicating things, they could find some way to combine the summons somehow...eh, naahh wouldn't work...
Marlin ßeta - December 25, 2003 04:24 PM (GMT)
Combine summons? It was hard enough for them to combine elements for the multi-summons. You’ve got something there, but I think it’s the wrong direction. What if you were able to divide your combined summons into their component elements? Like, take Iris and only use the fire-side of her and summon nine Mars djinn. Then it would need some special extra ability. Or maybe the next game should have summons that require more than two different elements. Maybe a summon that is composed of three or all four elements? That would be interesting (and efficient).
Max - December 25, 2003 08:09 PM (GMT)
Hmmm...I suppose that is not a bad idea...of course, now that I think about it, I'm happy with the summons and Djinn system just the way it is.
Marlin ßeta - December 27, 2003 03:57 PM (GMT)
I’m not saying the system of summoning and djinn usage should be different. I’m just saying, give the players more options. That’s all. Okay. Lets say you have a summon that requires one of each djinni element on standby (one Mars, one Venus, one Jupiter, and one Mercury). Okay. First turn in a battle: have everyone unleash a djinn (assuming your party is of all four elements). Turn two: unleash a level 4 summon. Turn three: all summoned djinn have completely recovered and are ready to be unleashed again. See! Is that efficient, or what?
Max - December 27, 2003 11:43 PM (GMT)
Hey...that's a good idea...wait a minute what happened here? The thread title is now misleading, because we went from talking about "What Kind of Adept are you?" to the most efficient ways to use djinn summons...we went waaayy off topic...then again, it seems like we're the only people using these forums for the past few days or so...
Silver Chaos Adept - December 28, 2003 08:52 PM (GMT)
1- Silver
2- Shine Plasma
3- Echo
4- Lemuria
5- A sword
But we seem to have got a little off-topic, huh? Ah, well. Never mind.
Max - December 28, 2003 08:57 PM (GMT)
Hmm...You would be the legendary Silver Adept, come to redeem us all!...nah. It isn't my job to rate what kinds of adepts people are...I think that's Alex's job...
Silver Chaos Adept - December 28, 2003 10:03 PM (GMT)
Coolies! Legendary Silver Adept, come to redeem you are from the torture of school! Using my Rainbow Psyenergy, I will strike down education! :D MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Max - December 28, 2003 10:44 PM (GMT)
At last! A true savior! Woohoo! No more school!
Silver Chaos Adept - December 29, 2003 09:48 AM (GMT)
Heh heh... I could alternitively use a machine gun instead of Psyenergy... but I don't want to hurt innocents. :( Except in videogames where I tend to kill all of them coz I can't aim... * sniff* Ah well, I guess I'll stick with Rainbow Psyenergy, eh? :D
Marlin ßeta - December 29, 2003 06:16 PM (GMT)
Alex has been missing for a while. So I’ll fill in for him. I’d say you are a Jupiter adept.
Max - December 29, 2003 10:11 PM (GMT)
Yeah...hey just where the hell is everybody else? So far the only posters I've seen are Marlin, Silver, and me...maybe they were attacked by the clones...
Marlin ßeta - December 30, 2003 03:59 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that’s it. The clones got ‘em. All this clone stuff is reminding me of Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones. How about you guys (and girl)?
Max - December 30, 2003 08:10 PM (GMT)
Ugh...pleeeeeeaaaase don't bring Starwars into this...
Marlin ßeta - December 31, 2003 04:23 AM (GMT)
Fine. I’ll quit the Star Wars comments direction. I’ve listened to you badmouth enough of the things I like. <_<
Silver Chaos Adept - December 31, 2003 11:42 AM (GMT)
Hmmmm maybe. My entire experience of Star Wars is the cartoons on Cartoon Network, but I really liked them. Maybe they were eaten ny the Great Healer clones?
Max - December 31, 2003 08:46 PM (GMT)
Badmouthing? All I asked was no more Starwars...normally I wouldn't mind, but I have this friend who's incredibly obsessed...every day, all the time, all he wants to talk about is his dang starwars figurines and his new starwars fan story...gaaaaaah! I need a break from all the Starwars! *takes brick and slams hard into my head*
Lor - January 1, 2004 05:30 AM (GMT)
